<3 starchy carbs <3 but, if I'm planning a big meal and want to cut down on calories, I'll chop up mushrooms (not too small) and saute them with some onions or scallions. It's satisfying, flavourful and super quick/easy ETA: and fairly low-carb by volume.

Don't much care for plain rice either. I get that you can use it to absorb sauce, but that's what bread is for :) Pilaf, risotto and fried rice, however, are delicious and I eat them often.

Made a thing with ground meat, vegetables and tomatoes (canned :embarassed:). I like it... Could have used more salt and less pepper, but such is life when you eyeball spices.

Yesterday's dinner was 688 calories*, it was a stew with green peas and meat, so... swap out the green peas for green beans and it'd be about 600... *: it was actually a bit more with the bread I used to clean the plate, but I had pre-logged it.

Not great, not terrible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I make sure to eat some dairy, some fruit and some vegetables every day, don't stress protein all that much but make sure I get the RDI every day, the rest mostly takes care of itself. The only micro I track - and am usually a bit low on - is fiber. Because reasons.
