Don't want to be rude but I would trust my GP over a bunch of well meaning people on MFP... I have a lot of respect for the support and love on MFP but I would still trust my GP more for medical advice.

The program works really well :smile: I did my first week 7 run last night, 7 weeks ago I couldnt run and last night I did 25 minutes straight. I was so happy when I stopped - extremely sweaty but very proud :happy:

I do classes on my non run days, sometimes I do classes on my run days just depends how the week pans out!

Couch to 5km and w = week and d= day e.g. The w6d3 run is 25 minutes non stop etc.

I am just starting week 7 of C25k, I redid run 2 of week 6 after I finished my body attack class yesterday just for fun. I never imagined I would do a run just for fun and certainly not after doing a 50 minute high intensity work out class!!

I have a polar ft60 I have used it for swimming and aquarobics with no problem recording heart rate on either. I contacted Polar to check and they told me that it is fine for swimming but that the chlorine may affect the signal and not to operate the buttons while it is wet. So far it has been problem free.

I refuse to let my step kids have chocolate or sweets or sugary cereals. If they have dessert it is fruit, they are not allowed soda or squash that contains sugar. I would second that, I started it 6 weeks ago and can run at a light jog speed for 20 minutes, I run faster outside than I do on a treadmill which I am surprised about. I mostly train on a treadmill but I am trying to build up my running outside so that I can do a 5k in July.

No no no no no - a pound of fat and a pound of muscle will always weight the same ONE POUND, it may take up less room but it weighs exactly the same. Just as a pound of lead and a pound of feathers weigh one pound but take up vastly different amounts of room.

We signed up at a DW gym as they only do a 6 month contract, there are loads of classes to do. I had mine out 20 years ago, I ate peanuts the day after and broke my stitches, really not a nice experience but even with that I was back to normal after a week or so.
