Are you eating too little and putting your body in starvation mode? Don't be disheartened though. I was a bit impatient when I started using MFP, thinking that the weight loss was slow. It is slow but it is regular. I have been on for 70 days now and have lost 10lbs. I am happy with the result. I am sure you will be too…

I have a Polar FT. Yes, it was over $100 but well worth it for me. Here is a review I found about the HRM you want to buy. 2.0 out of 5 stars Too Complicated, Difficult To See Display, December 2, 2010 By Vince F - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Have you tried listening to in ipod while on the treadmill? That works for me. Hope that helps. I LOVE Canada!!! I come from the Land Down Under.

Welcome! I love this site. Have been here since mid-January and it has so helped me lose weight. It has been slow going but steady. I am sure you will love it.

I have had knee pain for a long time and, although I love running on the treadmill, I no longer do this as it makes my knee swell and causes much pain. My doctor also advised against running - so I just do a fast walk (6.5km/hr) and have the treadmill on an incline. The "popping/grinding" sounds like mine - bone on bone,…

Forgot to say: add me as a friend if you want. Great to have some Aussie connection as everyone seems to be from US

Hello from NSW!!! and welcome! It would be in your "settings" - choose metric. However, when it says how much you have lost it still puts it in imperial!
-
We never lose weight as fast as we would like! Maybe your body has gone into "starvation/famine" mode - seeing as you say you are not eating your exercise calories. Good luck!
-
What lovely advice! It is so true that you can't do anything about past choices/life style, but you are going great today parkbear - so keep on that road! I am on blood pressure medication myself and have high cholesterol but I am seeing my doctor in two days to check if I can go on lower medication dose. I am confident…

Have you tried Melatonin?

Thank you for sharing! I will check it out now. Please feel free to add me as your weight loss buddy.

Thanks for your input. I will check out that site now!

I guess this would depend on how much calories you are eating.

I am very lazy about working my Abs - that is why I have no muscle tone!!! A challenge would force me to work on it - and a week sounds doable. Count me in.
-
Well, I am awaiting replies to your post as thigh fat sticks to me like glue!!!

Hello, Sandra. It is great that you are on this site as it will surely help you help yourself! You will also get a lot of support from the others on the site. Good luck with it.

Yes, sometimes an added motivation is all you need. My son gets married in a few weeks so I started MFP mid-January. I haven't reached my goal weight but I am getting there. Good luck and keep us posted with how you are going.

Good for you!!! And I am sure you feel healthier too!

You said you were more focused on measurements so - How are your clothes fitting? Have you noticed a difference? Sometimes the scales just take a bit longer to register the weight loss. That is how I felt when I first started in January. The scales don't seem to register the big effort I put into the weight loss - eating…

Welcome!! You have come to the right place. I have gone on too many diets to count. I have only been here since mid-January but have already lost 7lbs, which is great going for me. What I love is that this feels right - like it is a change for life, not just some impromptu diet. Good luck and stay focused.

Hello. I am new also (only been here a month but what a month!!!). I do a class called Body Blitz which I think is like pump. I have a HRM so I know exactly how many calories I burn. I just log it in the cardio section and call the exercise Body Blitz. Hope that helps.

What is stopping you from exercising in the morning? It works for me as it kick starts my day. I find that when I postpone my exercise until the end of the day, too many things get in the way of it actually happening.
-
I agree with cmriverside. Just explain it wasn't what you wanted and change it. I have a Polar HRM and I love it. Even shows me how much I burn when I am doing housework.

Hello, Ashley. You can add me as a friend and support if you wish. This is the best site ever for weight loss!! So many people happy to help.
-
Good for you! Don't depend too much on the scales - sometimes they are slow to register the weight loss. I go by how my clothes fit me. Keep at it - the rewards are great!
-
I know what you mean about dieting. It seems I have done it all as well. You lose the weight quickly, but it comes back quickly too when you get off the diet - and you put on more than you lost!!! I love MFP because it feels like it is a lifetime change for me. I have only been here a month but I love it!!! Good luck and…

I am probably one of those people that cannot manage to stay on the elliptical for long! :-)

Hello. I am happy to help as weight loss buddy. I am also relatively new - only started mid-January. It is slow going losing the weight but it is the right way so I am so happy with this site. Stay focused and you will achieve the results you want.

Prunes are great!!! Or prune juice.....then exercise off the calories that are in them.

I find that if I exercise first thing in the morning, I can consistently do it. Then it is over and done with! As well, the night before I prepare all my gym clothes. When I wake up I don't stay in bed thinking about having to get up - I just get up, have my shower, put on my gym clothes, and I am off. I used to hate…
