It is part of the problem. I am poor and easily paid for and ate food that was cheap and only marginally healthy. I didn't even eat out that much. Maybe twice a month. But Rice-a-Roni is $10 for ten boxes. It was easy just to thaw out a chicken breast and frozen veggies and cook all that as a skillet casserole. Then was…

24 pounds in 2 months, counting calories and cycling 30 minutes every day. I am very obese though, so probably not a good measure.

Two scrambled eggs mixed with a mashed banana. Fry it like a pancake. Two hundred some calories and fills you up great.

For most children, this is true. For mine, it is not. My son will refuse to eat period if I try to force him to eat anything. For days. His appetite is abnormal and has been all of his life. While he is an exception, you are being extremely harsh and judgmental of others. I can tell you from experience most children will…

Baked sweet potato fries. Or substitute them for regular potatoes in your roast. These are my two personal favorites.

This is how I feel about it. If I have to log everything for every day for the rest of my life, so be it. It keeps me accountable and gives me a solid goal to achieve every day. It doesn't take that much time to do it and like the medication I have to take every day, it is a medical necessity.

I watched several yoga videos until I found one with an instructor I really liked. That makes it easier to do yoga for me. I watch TV shows on Netflix and Amazon while I bike. On pain days when I only do twenty minutes, I watch cartoons like Justice League (because I'm a big old geek) and on normal days when I do 30- 45…

I only snack in the evenings, so I arrange my calories so I can do so. Also, doing a little exercise so you can eat a little more works. For you sleep eaters, does having something right before bedtime help with that? I know my insomnia is better if I have a nice filling snack about an hour before bedtime.

At 316 pounds, I went into my doctor because my knees were killing me all the time. Even on medication, my blood pressure was too high. The stress of my life was piling up with no end in sight. My doctor told me I needed to lose weight. She told me to walk an hour every day. I looked at her like she was insane, since I…

My last 'cheat meal' will probably be the last time I eat McDonald's if I can help it. Six piece nugget and french fries with no salt. Felt lousy the rest of the day. Couldn't bring myself to eat much the rest of the day either. The next day, I made a nice low calorie, lower salt patty melt and it was fantastic. I'm just…

This. Also, I make my brown rice with low sodium chicken broth. It tastes really good to me, but I like the taste of brown rice.

'Cruelty burger' is my new favorite phrase. I am planning to have a 91% fat free cruelty burger, with tortured turkey bacon and abusive swiss cheese for dinner. On whole wheat bread with a side baked sweet potato fries, of course. Okay, I am going to say it. If you choose not to eat meat for whatever reason, that's great.…

No, I am very blunt and straightforward. I am also tired of rampant paranoia and people blaming others for their poor communication skills. All of us deal with this. One milkshake is not going to ruin your weight loss journey. It may well be your mother was falling back into that old habit. Instead of being paranoid and…

That was not snark. I can be snarky if you want. ;) It is a thing, especially with women. The other day some woman posted that her husband was trying to sabotage her diet by bringing her brownies. Turns out he bought them for himself and just offered them to her because he was being nice like the well trained husband he…

The most frightening part of this entire post. This is why you never trust 'professionals' completely folks. They're just as prone to being complete idiots as anybody else.
-
God, not this again. NOBODY IS TRYING TO SABOTAGE YOU. Your mother is not out to get you (at least I hope she isn't), but just bringing you home treats is not sabotage. You are stressing over finals. She probably thought you deserved the treat. This is true of anyone who loves and cares about you unless you have definitive…

THANK YOU. So many people forget that if we had not learned how to get to the marrow in animal bones and eat red meat, we wouldn't have our big fancy brains that allow us to rationalize things like "I think killing animals is inhumane. I don't want to eat them anymore." Once again, not dissing the vegan or vegetarian…

Okay, now a suggestion from me for those dealing with picky eaters. Let them help prepare food. Even the three and four year olds. You can have them mix things and dump premeasured ingredients in bowls. My son will often try food he's helped to prepare, even if he won't eat any of it. It's progress. And yes, the formula is…

I was interested until I got to this part- Topiramate = TOPAMAX Also known as dopamax or stupomax. Took it for a year. Never again. Memory problems translated to 'you will forget everything. Even to take the stupid medicine.' The aphasia was the worst part. I look back at things I wrote then and it's like 'okay, I don't…

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately, all my attempts at these before (trust me, I've tried) have ended with him not eating. Picky eater is so picky that most attempts to change his diet end in utter failure. Also, organic is expensive and we have a very tight budget. I have to buy only one kind of frozen pizza. He…

It's been a month. If you can manage to gain more than a pound or two in a month, you are doing something wrong. That is not definitive proof of anything than the fact you have a bad attitude and only want to hear that this product is great and you did the right thing. If you want that, I am sure SlimQuick has a forum when…

If you stop using the product, yes, you will gain back the weight. That is why fad diets like this one DO NOT WORK. It was already explained to you IN DETAIL that this is a scheme by weight loss companies to get you to buy their product. If it worked the first time and the weight stayed off, how would they make any money.…

My son's diet is 'Whatever he will actually eat.' Because he is a small child, most of his diet is unhealthy. All attempts to force him to eat anything ended with him refusing to eat anything for days. Even candy. So yes, his diet reads like a most people's favorite binge foods list. I introduce new, better food to him all…

I do 20 minutes of extremely light yoga as my warm up first thing in the morning. It works fantastically for getting past the fibro "OMG, I HURT SO BAD, WHY AM I GETTING OUT OF BED?' But any form of light stretching should help. Also, hot showers often help with sore everything, even fibro pain. It's just standing in the…

I am a night owl who deals with the fact the world seems to think daytime is the best time to be active. My alarm goes off at 6am, I usually get up then and put my coffee on, then do my twenty minute yoga warm up. If I got up on time, I will go ahead and eat breakfast and do my 30 minutes of cycling. If not, I will get the…

Started at 314 eight weeks ago. Now under 300 lbs for the first time in years and feeling much better. I see all these people who have lost 100+ pounds and it really makes me think I can do it too. :)

Just because you don't agree with the OC's desire to associate with others who share her faith, doesn't give anyone the right to harass or belittle her. She said nothing disrespectful about ANYONE else. She simply wants to be with people who share her interests and belief system. Are you all going to call foul on us…

One of my friends is a total foodie who loves to bake. She stopped bringing in treats because 'everybody is always on a diet'. Then they started complaining, so she started bringing them again. Like us, she loves to bake and cook and experiment. She has linked me to some great sites, I just baked and decorated mini…

Learn to cook. It's not as hard as you think, Humans have done it since we figured out that cool fire thing. That will not curb your snacking. I cook and I snack. I like to snack. Change your snacking habits, portion control and make sure most of your snacking isn't junk. Eating small healthy portions throughout the day…

Never, EVER hesitate to question your doctor if something doesn't sound right. It is their job to explain things to YOUR satisfaction. If something sounds hinky, ask. Your doctor probably has a good reason, or alternately, they don't. Regardless, blind faith in ANY medical professional is a bad idea. There are good, bad…
