  • Welcome! Have a good time here and we are here to help if you get off track.
  • Planned on making Butternut squash soup as I had a onion in the pan and some garlic. Figured what the heck and tossed this frozen bag of sweet potato chunks in with it and the squash was huge. Only had one carton of broth so I made a big pot of squash mash. Got a new immersion blender and it worked awesome. Had some for…

  • Just joined up in the group but I also started back into paleo which I was already 100% into and had some mental fall off the wagon months....ahhhh Dec 31st I weighed in and said that was it. I am feeling awesome now in between meals because I actually "feel empty" if anyone else knows what I mean. I used to be hungry but…

  • I have bad shoulders also from years of running a hand truck delivering beer and kegs all day. So my trainer also told me when we first started we won't be doing anything overhead till I get my shoulders healed up. I do resistance band exercises right now for my shoulders and lots of stretching.
  • Elliptical every morning for 30 minutes. Every other day I do push ups and planks. Working on getting a set of PowerBlock DB's in the next couple weeks and will start a good routine with those. I have tried to be a member of gyms but I just live too far away from any of them. I need equipment at home now. It is way easier…
  • Almost my exact routine as well. Some say they bbq all winter but when it is 10 outside I just like to cook indoors....haha
  • I like to make small batches of coconut crack bars for a treat once in a while. Those are delicious. Or I really want to try some coconut balls rolled in hemp seeds. I found those on the Nutiva website and those sound great cause they are crunchy.
  • Doesn't it just drive you mad when you still see it over and over in this day and age the push for having "whole grains" in your diet. What a load of crap and it is still mainstream in our schools.
  • My kids are so picky, I hate it. Slowly but surely they will find out how much better one feels once stuck to it.
  • I helped my disabled son through his first couple years of college so here are some tips. He had a small fridge and it fit a good amount of food in it and his college did have some shared big kitchens that you could sign up for. Find a local grocery that has good produce and stock up on veggies that you can cut up and…
  • Just write it off as another day of learning. No big deal. Go on with your normal routine and learn about how that day could dramatically change your life if that was your normal.
  • Those are hilarious! I have had several of those happen to me when I went Paleo. The waitress always looks at me like I am a space man when I ask to substitute my toast for more veggies with my veggie omelet. She replies " Oh I don't think they will do that!" I ask why because you are purposely trying to kill me? LOL!! Or…
  • I am a professional Radio Controlled truck racer. I am sponsored by COW RC and ZRP Racing. I have my own organization and we are dedicated to Replica Monster Jam racing. I am also the Secretary for the Michigan Chapter of Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy - FSMA. My son has this disease and is now attending college so I…
  • I did not experience any problems because I ate plenty of what is already considered Paleo. The one thing I had to get used to is eating more. The calories do not stack up like chowing pasta or a huge sub. I love it though. The weight comes off rather easily once your body gets in tune with the lifestyle. I feel better and…
  • Nope, had it in lower case the first time I did it. I then tried them again and no go and then I used the auto copy IMG link from photobucket the last time. Let me try and upload them to a different account.
  • What the heck. My pics will not show up. I even edited it and tried it again......I will work on it and see if I can fix it. I don't know, I have posted hundreds of photos on forums and never had them not show up before. I have tried it 3 times and they will not show up. Any ideas?

  • These are amazing! If you miss having that nice sweet treat these are just the ticket.
  • Make a crustless Quiche with sweet potatoes and sweet sausage. Jazz it up with some dried cranberries or raisins in it. Make some kind of a drizzle you can top onto it after you scoop it out of the pan... Just an idea. :-)
  • Only if the whole family was not sleeping I would be in the kitchen right now running the food processor.....LOL!! Those look like a very tasty treat. Love all the recipe and meal talk running through this group! Thanks for sharing this.
  • A big ole Salmon or Tuna topped salad with Spring Mix, Grape Tomatoes, Cukes, Almonds or Sunflower seeds and Carrots. Topped with some Kens Steak House Rasberry Walnut Vinagrette or Annies Papaya Poppy Seed dressing.
  • Hey now that is a good idea for a crust. I have not had many " snacks " since going Paleo so I might look those Lemon bars up.
  • @perfekta. Yep, a few years ago I was trying to see what all this religion was about because I was not brought up in a religious home. I studied with this particular group for a while and they would NEVER let me speak and ask questions about the things we were reading. They would always say we have to read the printed word…
  • A couple from the local Jehova's Witnesses camp stopped by a few days after the Japan Tsunami hit and started in on how lovely their GOD is and how he loves everyone. I said " Oh really?? Then why did he just kill a few thousand innocent Japanese people?? Hmmm?? " They always come back with he has a plan and it all happens…
  • Yep, even the edges were quite hard compared to the runny middle. Good advice to let it sit out a bit.
  • Agreed. That is something I did not mention is that I never eat any fruit unless I have a protein source with it. That slows down the process of your body using it and keeps you satisfied longer. Carbs will get devoured very quickly unless you add some protein with it.
  • I think it is great that you served them organ meat and they never knew it. I have not studied these organs but find it quite intriguing that they are leaner than chicken. Going to have to check that out some more since I love stir fry meals mixed with veggies. They make a great way to get several meals for on the go…
  • I am glad this got bumped. Great read and you do a excellent job on the write ups of your kitchen adventures!!
  • I love fruit. I mostly eat Berries and apples daily. I do not have any issues with fruit but I do try to stay away from high sugar fruits as much as possible. I know apples are not that low but I love them. Bananas, Pineapple, Mango, Melon....etc. Those I try not to eat too often. It would be hard to think that is why you…
