I will be alone this year.. so I'm still undecided. My family is pretty strict about the pandemic as many are cancer survivors. And my roommate is going to her brother's for a few days. Dont feel bad for me, after decades of living alone and many huge family gatherings. I'm fine staying home alone. I was going to grill a…

Do take it easy. Nothing worse than a re injury. Does ice help? And I won't complain about my pulled groin muscle.

Just finished The Authenticity Project. Loved it!

Great points. Thank you

I love my kindle. Nothing beats having a half dozen books in a small package that can go anywhere. Just finished a few books this month. Shiner - about mountain people: moonshiners, a preacher who's also a snake charmer and two women who are best friends and their relationship wth each other and the men they marry. Set in…

Hmmm. I'm not sure I do much to be honest. Unfortunately I've used food most of my life to mask my feelings only to have self loathing in the end. I've never enjoyed being crafty. I tried coloring and it didn't bring me joy. I love reading to take me away but it doesn't address my stress or depression. I do find that…

I went off the rails these last few days. And I am sitting here willing myself to do a workout...dressed, ready. set. Go!

Hi neighbor! Riding in the cold is much easier when you have the right gear. My friend gifted me a few things several years ago that make it possible. 'Wind' pants that go over my jeans are lightweight but really help me stay warm. And a baklava (I know thats not the name) but it helps keep my head warm. No riding for me…

Yesterday we had unseasonably warm and sunny weather. I met 3 of my sisters for an outside socially distanced visit. Met in the parking lot at a hot dog place. We brought our own chairs and ate dogs n fries then exchanged some cookies. Mine were the best imho...lol. my other sister wasn't able to join us otherwise her's…

I will be grocery shopping and then cooking something that will last a few days for lunch/dinner. I roasted a chicken the other day so I want to get those bones in a pot of water and have some stock. I've always liked cooking, but honestly I rotate the same 10 meals (maybe it's only 6 or 7). Also planning a daily workout…

Started my day with this one. It could be my favorite. Uses bands for part of the workout. Says it's a total body, but I definitely feel like it's more legs than anything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw9SsJ08AEY

No jumping in this one, but wow my shoulders got tired as nearly every move uses arms overhead to get your heart rate up. This one is ok, but she was a bit too chatty for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcLH0A52dOI

A good night's rest is invaluable.

Try not to think of it as starting and stopping. In reality, we will never stop. We may adjust but we won't go back to all of those bad habits and expect to maintain our weight. Perhaps you instead take a U turn. Don't give up the entire journey - just try and get back on track. Look for small improvements each day/week,…

But you did it anyway!! Isn't that the best feeling?

Well done!!!

@CeeBeeSlim i admire your commitment to your parents. My mom had Alzheimer's disease and my siblings and I tried our best to keep her at home for a couple of years. Even a few days of 24/7 care is exhausting. Take care of yourself while you care for them. Rowing is fun. Enjoy! Welcome!

I began logging my food and exercising every day on December 1st. I want to continue that habit through the month. I also want to log at least 8,000 steps each day. I'm averaging 6 or 7,000 now and I know I can do better.

I'll start. It's sunny outside! Woo Hoo!! It's been gray for days and the sunshine and a bit warmer temps are welcome! The sun elevates my mood.

I found this thread last week andthere are tons of suggestions. I like popsugar a lot. Theres usually 3 people working out. One is the leader one does advanced or follows the leader and the third is my person, the modified low impact girl. Some of their routines use weights but they're never that heavy duty that I consider…

Take it slow. You likely didn't gain 60 lbs overnight, so don't expect it to be gone within a few weeks or months. I'm 59 and I too could drop 30lbs in a month or 2 when I was in my 20's and 30's. I always gained it back plus more. Focus on a few new habits at a time. Log everything you eat and use a food scale. Eye…

This was hard for me. Although they gave a low impact option, I was sweating like crazy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zem0_qsDg0

I finished these two this week. Nothing to see here and the Editor. Just started Wives, but I'm not hooked yet.
