  • My boyfriend is very much a 1 and he looks perfect. (Functional muscles, very low BF%)
  • I realised this was true for me too, so I've set my calories to maintenance until my exams, so at least I won't gain any weight. I can start again in a few weeks, no biggie.
  • Me! But I knew I was going to have problems motivating myself, so I joined a low-level sports team at the start of the year to make sure I exercise. Also the diet's on hold until the end of exams (I'm eating strictly maintenance).
  • Monika "Jac" Jagaciak is my attainable body idol: But "perfect" body has to go to Karlie Kloss. Taller and more slender than I'll ever be, but damn she looks incredible (especially after she gained a little weight for Victoria's Secret). You can tell she works out!
  • Monika Jagaciak has my dream body. She has my frame, is almost exactly my height and goal weight. She started modelling really young, so she's famous enough that she keeps getting work even though she has sane, non-stick sized thighs.. ^_^ I won't ever have her face, but hopefully with work I'll get some way towards…
  • MFP designs your fitness goals so you don't need to exercise to lose weight. So to go according to your plan you should eat calories back. Reasons for actually exercising include wanting to lose fat rather than muscle (since muscle burns more calories), wanting better health (as you said), and wanting to look toned rather…
  • The less muscle you have, the easier it is to gain more, so if you just stick with exercises that are as hard as you can manage at the moment, you're probably going to gain a fair bit of muscle and strength if you keep at it! :)
  • Weight train! It makes you gain muscle rather than fat, and that'll make you look much better and healthier.
  • I've managed to stop stuffing entirely by convincing myself that my fork is NOT a shovel. Taking big bites was making me bloated and stuffed! I concentrated on eating slowly and now within a week I can stop when I feel full. :)
  • Are you feeling stressed about your weight loss? Stress is the only non-hormonal thing that's ever affected my libido.
  • Oh, just wanted to add, if you want to stay looking good while your body adjusts, do weight training. That way you'll gain muscle rather than fat and you'll be getting more toned rather than bigger :)
  • I've got a lot more comfortable with logging college food as I've got better at eyeballing portions. I know what 100g of various things looks like on a plate, so I just log it approximately.
  • If your metabolism had slowed down to cope with 1000 cals it's not going to speed up overnight, so you're going to gain for the first couple of weeks while it speeds back up. Give it time!
  • My OH is trying to gain as well. I just cook 3 portions, I eat one, and he eats two! Simple :)
  • I looooove tofu and I'm not even vegetarian :) But if you really want perfection in your tofu, I'd follow this recipe by Kenji from Serious Eats. He takes getting food perfect seriously. http://www.seriouseats.com/2013/02/vegan-food-mapo-tofu-vegetarian-sichuan.html Or just any Mapo Tofu recipe really :)
  • Poach/roast your own chicken/beef without adding salt, and use that instead? Also bacon is really high in sodium. I'd go for something sour rather than something salty - try doing salsa instead of bacon and cheese?
  • I have those days, but my tape measure reassures me whether it's just in my head or not. (Sometimes it's not and I'm just bloated lol)
  • My OH was exactly like this. And you know what? I lost 2 inches off my waist since he told me this and our relationship is perfect again. He can't help what he feels when he looks at you. You can help what you look like. If there are more reasons for you to stay together than just looks (we are compatible in so many other…
  • I used to crave fast food until I learned to make tastier versions at home. And now I obviously crave the tasty, homemade versions, so fast food doesn't appeal to me any more! A couple of things I haven't yet learned to make (onion rings, for example), but I'll get there.
  • I understand not wanting to put strain on a relationship you value. Just tell him that it is so so much easier to lose muscle than to gain it, and if you start to look "too bulky" then you can stop. It definitely can't happen by accident!
  • Mirena has been fine for me, but according to my Dr some women are sensitive to the type of progesterone used in it (levonorgestrel). It's the same type as in Microgynon which made me really miserable (switching to a different pill made me fine) but the concentration in an iud is low enough to not have affected me. However…
  • This website gives them as 34-29-36, which seems more likely. The 34 is wrong though, since it claims her bra size is 34D so the chest circumference will be a few inches more than that. (I'm the same height as her, so I can calibrate, and yeah there's no way that's 25.) Figures about celebrities' shapes and weights are…
  • I think we were mostly objecting to the claim "anyone in their right mind would love to have her body". People don't have to be out of their minds to not want to look a particular way.
  • Kate Upton is much too big to be a fashion model, since designers make samples in size 0, and that's usually the aesthetic people on that site are using. (In particular, if lots of people want to sleep with you, your look is probably too "mass market" for fashion.) I'm a bit dubious about her as a swimsuit model as well,…
  • Wow, I guess I must never be able to understand how you guys feel. If someone gave me something like that but told me it wasn't poisonous and wasn't going to kill me, and they eat it on a regular basis, I'd definitely try it. There's nothing I can think of that I wouldn't be able to swallow! (unless I couldn't physically…
  • No wonder you're eating so many carbs! That's so many high protein things you can't eat. :frown: Maybe drink more milk? I have friends who get most of their protein from just drinking pints and pints of milk, and they seem to be fine. Also you didn't mention soy, so you could try soy milk and tofu?
  • Off topic, but did anyone else notice that this is a thread from March 2012??
  • Ok, since you're claiming it's a factual argument, I'm just going to point out that most overweight and the vast majority of obese people underestimate how fat they are, and leave this conversation at that, since otherwise we're heading into "somebody is wrong on the internet!!" territory. :)…
  • No. Being fat is a lifestyle choice. Being black and being gay aren't. That's why we're here. That's why this site exists. 74% of Americans are overweight. If everyone "loved themselves, including their fat", 74% of Americans would stay overweight and risk dying young. Hundreds of people die young from obesity for every…
  • I agree that it sounds a bit unhealthy, but I don't think that's the kind of advice which would give someone an ED who didn't have one. Also, if you job is to look like that, then you can't afford to have cheat days/meals because you can't afford to be carrying water weight for the following week. I can imagine advice on…
