I have a daughter that has extreme reactions to anything dairy, even cross contamination. We have gotten really good at reading labels. Diary can be listed as many things. There are many dark chocolate bars and dark chocolate chips that are dairy free, but not all of them, so read... read... read.

I love to make a sauce with yogurt (I use unsweetened plain soy yogurt) and buffalo sauce. It is great as a dressing or as a dip for carrot sticks or on baked potatoes... anything spicy pleases my taste buds and I don't miss the salt shaker!

I am very interested in the intuitive eating process. I really want to one day be able to completely listen to my bodies on natural wisdom. if I can only quiet myself long enough to hear it. I would love to eat like a naturally thin person.... one day!

I am mostly dairy free and there are some remarkable substitutions out there. There is a great soy yogurt. And a cream cheese made of tofu... it is called tofutti. Granted, if you are comparing, you will notice the difference between these and the real thing, but if you are able to "forget" what the other stuff tastes…

Clothes are a big motivating factor for me. Trying on clothes and thinking this will look great when i lose another 5 pounds. Then i make it my goal to get into that pair of shorts or pants or whatever. Most times i don't buy anything, just try in clothes too see how they are fitting. Also, i reward myself, most of the…

That is so awesome. Congrats! I really believe when we let ourselves have those proud moments, they completely motivate us to keep on going. I am actually enjoy shopping for clothes now instead of dreading it. And I passed down 3 more pairs of pants to a co-worker. Woohoo!

i love the idea. Sometimes the best ones come when you loosen up with a little liquor.

NewLIFEstyle4 - Thank you so much for starting this thread. It has been amazing to see everyone's successes. What a positive thing! I appreciate you! And great job on bowling tonight. You still got it!

You do get it. I did get that obsessive competitive thing going on. Failure was not an option. But neither was doing anything unhealthy. So, that did make it more difficult. I got pretty insanely focused and dedicated. I wish I would not have put quite as much pressure on myself though. I did stress myself out. It was a…

I need you to understand how you are making so many assumptions that are incorrect! You say I was willing to do whatever it took to get there.... incorrect. You say I was dehydrated.... incorrect. You say that I was lacking nutrition.... incorrect. You are making way more of this than it really was. I am sincerely sorry…

I'm proud that I stood up for myself when someone treated me as if I were an idiot! That felt amazing!

I really appreciate your concern (or I think that may have been concern... although I felt a little scolded) but I honestly believe it was a case of vertigo. I have had it a few times before and it followed all the classic symptoms. If I wasn't sure of it I would have rushed myself into the emergency room.... and heck,…

Thanks to all of you for your amazing advice and support. I am pleased to announce that YES, I PASSED! I REACHED MY GOAL!! It was a tough, tough road. I got incredibly sick the night before. I have gotten vertigo twice in my life and haven't had it for years... until the night before my big weigh in. I had worked so hard…

I just bought some few days ago. Thanks for the ideas. I want to try to make peanut sauce with it. Just mixing it with low sodium soy sauce and chili sauce. It would be delish with fresh vegetable spring rolls. Can't wait to try.

I'm proud that i resisted a mile high serving of fresh hot tater tots with ranch, while everyone else around me munched out. I didn't even have one. I actually took joy in watching others eat them.
