  • Greek yogurt is typically creamy, a little tangier, and higher in protein. I really enjoy it. I prefer Fage and StonyField. Yoplait's had an odd texture. It is different and I would recommend Fage's yogurt that includes the fruit on the side. The strawberry tastes like a strawberries and cream dessert when you mix the…
  • I picked up Nancy Clark's food guide for new runners a few months ago and I really like it! The banana bread is YUM
  • That sounds so yummy, thank you!
  • My Mom made a delicious lasagna with cottage cheese, ground turkey breast (if any meat) TONS of veggies ( she and I LOVE the broccoli cole slaw mix because its perfect for layering and retained crunch) That with a homemade or low sodium tomato sauce is not that bad for you! (just veggies veggies cottage cheese and pasta!)…
  • I LOVE hardboiled eggs, esp since I only like the white. Thanks for mentioning that because I forgot about that for a snack!
  • I'm prepping for a First Tri Triathlon in Austin this May. I'm pretty excited! Most things I've read said that your basic mountain bike should be fine for your first race and if you decide it's something you're passionate about then splurge on a road bike. I'm NOT a big swimmer so that is my biggest hurdle!
  • Thanks guys! I love greek yogurt, I'll have to try it on there!
  • I've always sliced it and grilled it!, topped with some homemade tomato sauce/or cheese :) YUM. I have really been wanting to try it mashed.
  • You may be above by a small amount but the closer you are to a healthy weight the harder it is to lose. You describe being hungry all the time, but do not mention your diet. Are you eating naturally filling foods? I worked with a girl recently who was always hungry and her diet consisted of diet breakfast bars (processed)…
  • I agree! Rodney Lee's beginner video and then you can move on to any of his other ones, I like the AM or Burn.
  • ANY Rodney Lee video! http://video.barnesandnoble.com/DVD/Yoga-Conditioning-for-Athletes-With-Rodney-Yee/Rodney-Yee/e/029956140707/?itm=23&usri=Yoga That is just one, I also like the AM Yoga
  • My room was 108 degrees here in TX!
  • I'm curious about what postures it has you follow because it sounds a lot like Bikram. I adore bikram and I am so sad that it isn't offered where I live now. Yoga like that isn't always aimed at conditioning your body from an athlete's perspective and, I very well could be wrong, but the P90x sounds like it could (COULD)…
  • I've done Bikram for a while and my estimate was around 600. It really depends on how hard you are working! I loved it though because I could feel myself slim down with all that sweating!
  • I adore coffee, I have been a barista for three years and my Keurig is my best friend! It is the extras that make it count! I can't help but cringe when I have to make some one a triple extra syrup breve whatever (breve=half in half instead of milk for your latte). For anyone concerned about acidity, splurge on a TODDY…
  • I love making homemade smoothies and I also just buy a mix bag to be cheaper. I blend it up with orange juice for smoothie for just enough yogurt to make it a creamy sorbet consistency (for dessert!) I would recommend cutting out the splenda though! If it isn't sweet enough splurge with some honey or raw sugar, it is…
  • There is a junk food tax in process or implemented already. It is a nasty cycle of overweight people in lower economic status, who happen to have more medical issues, yet they can only afford the over processed cheap stuff. I'm a college student and I plan my groceries so that I can make the healthy stuff fit in my limited…
  • I completely share this anger with you. The office I worked at over the summer had several women of different health backgrounds. One with thyroid cancer (who snacks on junk all day), one who was thinning out but but eating nothing but "diet" granola bars and diet coke, and another who was obese and insulin dependent who…
  • I have read Jillian's book as well at it make SO much sense. Our bodies aren't meant to process the chemicals. She suggests the best way to eat healthy is to eat naturally and simple, food in it's most simple form. I love sugar in the raw and the one packet a day in my coffee hardly dents at my calories. I have also made…
  • I'm with you on that, that was not a large break fast at all. And even at that it was a good nutritional choice. My runners nutrition book I picked up has 300-400 for breakfast, so two oatmeals is hardly out of line. And as far as counting calories, its fuel, you're taking care of what you're putting in your body!!
