New to the group and glad to see this post. I was wondering the same thing. You can't ask a question like this on the main boards because people will jump all over the 1200 calorie goal. Most don't get that it's very different for post-wls people or just some people in general. I'm also set to 1200 and usually don't hit…

Amazing job!

Wish I was closer. I'm in Dover.

Absolutely agree! After the first page, I had to stop reading the replies to your post because they were getting too condescending and belittling. People on these boards (really most public internet sites) say so much that they would never say in person. I hate all the negativety too. Like some others have said, I mostly…

Not talking about total calories. Talking about sugar. Once you remove the fat from the milk, yes the calories are less, but what is left?

Also agree with these posts so much!! Although, I'm married and not dating or looking to date, I would love to be hit on once in a while and not feel so ackward in front of people.

Going to Jamaica in July for a family reunion. Seeing some family who have called me fat in the past and don't want to hear those comments again. Sucky main reason, but it's true. My other reasons of course are health, comfort, general body satisfaction, but their not the reasons that are driving me to try and do this more…

2%. I've heard skim milk is more fattening than other milks. Even though, the fat is removed from skim, it leaves mostly sugars so it's more fattening.

I'm also doing 5:2. On my fast days, I have the following for breakfast: - 3 tbls of Egg Beaters - Egg White Three Cheese (25 calories) - 1 cup of sauteed spinach (25 calories) - Teatley's Black Tea with 2 tsp of sugar (30 calories) Sometimes, I'll add in: - 1 slice of turkey bacon (lean or 50% less fat) (35 calories)

I'm 33. Lost between 11 and 15lbs so far, depending on the day. I'm doing the 5:2 Fasting Diet. Feel free to friend request me if you would like to. *Forgot to mention that I've been doing the diet for about a month and a week.

Thanks for the info sij. I'm 8 years post-op, so I'm not in the same boat as a new WLS person.

Sorry to tell you this but there is no promotion here. Just looking for info as I've stated in my initial post and responses Definitely not trying to sway any masses or sell a diet. Maybe you should go back and read what I wrote.

Same here. Thank goodness for the Internet and On Demand.

Thanks Kennie. I found a way to have 3 low cal meals and a snack on my fast days. It's actually been ok. I'm probably going to check with my doc and weigh all this info for the regular days to see what's appropraite for my normal calorie intake.

Thanks dym. I will look that interview up.

Malteaster  you were very clear when you said "my version". Some people just don't like to read everything.

Thanks for the info recent posters (matt..., eld.., alila.., and bssh.). I have never calculated my TDEE or BMR, until today. Really didn't know too much about it before this post. Great to learn something new. Now I need to research Paleo. No idea what that diet is, save that for tonight. I think I'll stick to the 1210 (5…

Thanx little.

Mokey, this is a weight loss option. It has been known to drop body fat and lower cholestoral and blood sugar in a short amount of time. I really don't understand why people can't understand that people need to try different options. Everyone's body is different and we react to food, diets, eating habits differently.…

Thank you pghfan! Glad to know you still have energy. I was curious about that effect.

Thank Everyone. I'm not planning to do this for long, just using it to jump start weight loss than transitioniing to a low calorie diet. I also take a multi-vitamin and calcium citrate supplement daily. Thanks for your suggestions. So far I'm hearing that a few are doing some altered version of the 5:2 diet, which is what…

Thanks Malteaster.

Thanks for your comment. I've done research on it and am aware of the results that are portrayed in the research and documentaries. I'm interested in those who have actually tried it and what their results were. I had WLS so my daily caloric intake is typically less that someone who hasn't had surgery. So starving, as you…

I don't know why people don't think before they speak. Keep up the good work too. I work from home too and I know how difficult it can be.
