I want to laugh when I see elderly people doing cardio at a much higher resistance or speed than me. I have to laugh to keep from getting discouraged by how out of shape I am. I respect and admire them, but I also don't like getting smoked by an 80-year-old.

6 pounds in 5 weeks is actually pretty good! Keep doing what you're doing! I'm on the depo. Doing the research, I learned that many women gain weight on the depo due to an increase in appetite. That's why tracking is important to me. I got on the depo, began tracking my food and calories, and lost 50 lbs. I stopped…

I will never understand some women. If you're quiet and don't say much, you're stuck up. If you're nice and friendly, you're "fake." It seems like you just can't win. Don't worry about it. Just keep being yourself, and you will find real friends... eventually!

I cut it in half and spoon it out. I've tried just eating it like an orange when I didn't have a spoon, but the membrane is just too tough for me to enjoy it that way. Edit: no, I don't use a special spoon. Ain't nobody got time for that! I use a real spoon.

I was really annoyed that I wasted time clicking this post, thinking it just might be a good question. But then gifs. Thanks for those.

My mom would fill a water bottle halfway with rocks and use it to play fetch with her boxer, Brutus. Brutus taught this to my Aussie, Ozzy. Now, I have to be extra observant at the park, because Ozzy WILL grab a water bottle right out of the hand of an unsuspecting stranger the second I look away. Earlier, my fiance…

It seems like there's always some sort of porn open on one of my fiance's tabs. He doesn't go out of his way to hide it, but he does act embarrassed if I happen to see it, even though he knows I'm ok with it. I always laugh if he's trying to show me some interesting article he found or work by his favorite…

My food plans get thrown off all the time for one reason or another. Either I forget an ingredient, too tired to cook (read lazy), SO wants something else, or people want to meet up at a restaurant. I've learned how to handle it. Step 1: I set my calorie goal to 1200 Step 2: I eat whatever the heck I want whenever the…

Ok. I looked at a few on Amazon. Yikes. Is it common to pay $30+ for a part of a shoe?
-
For the record, I am fascinated with the idea. I just don't think it would be practical for me in the shape that I'm in or the location I'm in. I'd want to try it sometime, though.
-
Perhaps I'll try that. What makes "higher quality"?
-
That actually made me lol. I was picturing myself trying to run barefoot on caliche rock, thorny weeds, and cacti. Barefoot may work on soft fluffy green grass or a sandy beach, but neither exist where I live.
-
Thank you so much! I will try all of these!
-
Both legs, but mostly my right. I really haven't been actually running much. I've been doing mostly 30DS, and first noticed it during all those jumping jacks.

How do people keep their heads from exploding while shopping for shoes? Edited because I forgot my manners. I appreciate it, and thank you. It's just that there's so much conflicting information on this subject, and I don't know what to do with it.

Thanks. My shoes fit just fine. They're somewhat cushion-y, but not to the point of being bulky or heavy. If my shoes were going to be a problem, I wouldn't know how to pinpoint the problem. They're comfortable and they fit. As I said, beyond that, I don't know what to look for in a shoe.

Thanks. I'll certainly start icing. I got them from doing the 30-day shred. Lots of high-impact cardio. I first noticed it while doing the jumping jacks. I was doing it on a carpeted floor, but I wasn't wearing shoes. Maybe that was why. I've read that poor shoes can cause it, but to be honest, I don't know what "poor…

5'6" female highest weight: 217 lbs current weight: 182 lbs lowest weight: 165 lbs goal weight: 145 lbs I think. I will decide if I need to go lower when I get closer to it.

Why yes I am signed up for the Color Run! Although I haven't really been training for it. I don't think I'll be able to run the entire thing, but I'm certainly going to give it all I've got. There's another color run in Amarillo in May, I think. I'm certainly going to be ready for that one!

Oh, the interrupting SO. I have one of those. When I'm doing my JM30DS DVD, he'll turn on the faucet in the kitchen and say something. Not only can I not breathe enough to answer him, but I can't even hear what he's saying over the sounds of both the tv and running water from the faucet. And then HE acts annoyed when he…

I went out to eat tonight, and although I did go over my calorie goal today, I managed to resist the delicious, fresh, fluffy, made-right-before-your-eyes flour tortillas. Not even 1 of them.

Well, that's great for you! Congratulations on your awesome workout prowess! Understand, however, that you're talking to someone who can't run longer than 15 minutes before I have to stop and walk. I've never touched a yoga mat in my life. Heck, I'm just barely flexible enough to ALMOST touch my toes with my longest finger.
-
Thank you for the replies. I can see good points from both sides. I think I'll compromise. Rather than going for a run, I'll go for either a long walk at a normal pace, or a shorter walk at a brisk pace.

Friday: Pushed through 45 minutes on the elliptical harder than ever before. Saturday: measured and saw that I had lost half an inch in one week. Better yet, I've helped my cousin lose 2 inches in the same week. Sunday: Bought a heart rate monitor to help me better track my calories and find the heart rate I workout best…

Thank you, RunReadEat and megedoug! I have heard of C25K, but it's hard for me to do unless I keep constantly checking the stopwatch on my phone and remember exactly what times I'm supposed to walk or run or carry an egg timer with me to set and reset. Neither one of those is very practical. I know there's an app, but I…

Thank you. That is very encouraging! You ask if I've "tried running." Well, that depends on your definition. I've gotten outside and started running, but can only go for about 10-15 minutes and turn back. I only did this three times within the past couple of months. I haven't tried it for a week straight like you suggest.…

Beans (kidney or black) boneless skinless chicken breast bell peppers brown rice tilapia fillets frozen broccoli frozen mixed veggies fat free cottage cheese carrots celery approximately all of the apples on sale in the store Edit: I don't know how I missed berries. I get all sulky when I open the fridge and see that the…

I'm a TTU student in Lubbock. Like actual Lubbock. I want to find someone to run with who will make me get outside despite all the wind and blowing dirt. If anyone's interested, hit me up! Or just message me. Please don't actually hit me.

I have set MFP to lose 2 lbs/week. My daily goal is 1200, but of course I exercise. I do try to eat back the calories. I don't measure or weigh my food. I'm pretty good at eyeballing it, and if I did measure and weigh, I'd drive myself crazy. Sometimes, I come in under my calorie goal, and as long as I have energy and feel…

3 days at the same weight is bound to happen. If you weigh yourself every day, you'll go crazy. Even if you stay the same for an entire week, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're doing anything wrong. Calorie counts and the calculations used to determine projected weight loss are only estimations. They're inaccurate…
