  • I know the feeling all too well. I'm living it now. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to break the cycle, because if I knew, I wouldn't be in the same boat. What I can tell you is that you aren't in the boat alone. I've had a string of failures recently. Not just with weight loss, but in my job and in my interpersonal…
  • I'm engaged, so this doesn't really apply to me, but when I was single, I didn't really have any complete deal breakers except for being violent or abusive. I felt that if I really liked someone, then I'd give it a chance. Then I met a guy who I liked... until I found out that he disliked dogs. I could not make a life with…
  • Hello! I'm Kassandra. I'm a nutrition student who is ironically overweight. I know exactly how to lose weight. I'm just struggling with the whole willpower thing. I'm working on it and getting better. Now that I've sort of gotten used to the idea of working out every day, I want to corporate lifting. I've ordered the…
  • I wasn't using MFP at the time, but I managed to lose over 50 lbs just through obsessive calorie counting alone. I must add, however, that I slowly gained back 30 of those pounds after I got careless about it. Now I'm trying to make exercise part of my lifestyle along with making better food decisions rather than…
  • I'm going to be of zero help and give you conflicting info. My SO says that working out with a cold actually makes him feel better. I say he's crazy. He says it helps clear things up and energizes him. I would think that doing anything that makes it harder to breathe while I'm already having difficulty breathing is insane.…
  • If you liked the 30 Day Shred, you might try Ripped in 30. I haven't actually done it, but I've seen a lot of people posting about it. They say that it's a bit tougher than the 30 Day Shred, and a step up from it. That's what I'm going to do once I'm finished with the Shred.
  • I like the idea behind C25K, but it isn't very practical for me. I don't have an iThing or smartphone, so I would be constantly looking at my watch to know when to walk or run. I'm just going out and seeing how far I can get before I have to walk, and gradually increasing that as I get better. I like the 3 and 3 idea.
  • Thanks. I might try that. Do you think 1 rest day per week is enough for someone out of shape?
  • Wow! Sounds like it would be quite effective! I'm going to have to steer clear of sprinting all out, however. I don't trust myself to not get injured.
  • I just did a Color Run yesterday. I had an absolute blast! I loved it so much that I signed up for another one in a different city in June.
  • I've seen people mention HITT on here several times. What is it?
  • So, 30DS on MWF and run on Tue/Thur with resting on the weekend? Do you then stretch out the 30DS to 10 weeks instead of the 30 days?
  • Well, the little bit of running I did was not necessarily fast either. It was a slow jog, but I'm proud of it anyway. It's an accomplishment for me to run at all, really. You should sign up for yours fairly soon! They sell out very fast. I think there were about 13,000 people at this one, and I don't even live in a very…
  • Thanks! The one I participated in did not provide any sort of protective eyewear. For me, it was not necessary. I certainly got some in my eyes, but it dissolves and does not irritate. It's just cornstarch, so it's not harmful to you, but a 5-year-old may not like it as much. I don't know, I suppose it depends on the kid.…
  • I'm interested. Is this going to be a group you create, or will everyone just be posting on this thread?
  • Hourglass. A CHUNKY hourglass. I suppose we'll see when I lose the weight...

  • Even when I had tree trunk thighs, jiggly butt (still working on that one), and shapeless blob of a belly, I've always had nice, muscular, lean calves.
  • What I said to triggsta when I got your posts mixed up... Thanks!
  • That's interesting. I've read about minimalist running and how many have reduced injuries by switching. I've also read that it's not for everyone and that it can actually increase risk of injury for some people. It seems that I've injured myself running enough times now that I may as well try it. At least if I injure…
  • Yep. I can confirm that Wal Mart shoes will last me about 3 months. I really probably should save for a pair or find some odd jobs around my grandparents' or aunts' houses to go to that running store. Injury prevention is a concern for me trying to do it without guidance. This is how it goes: I get a new pair of cheap…
  • I can completely understand that it is an investment. The thing is, in order to invest money in something, you need to have money to invest. It's not just that I'm cheap. It's that I seriously don't have the money once bills are paid. I'm a college student, and with my part-time job, I make about $120 a week. The amount I…
  • Lol! Approximately 388 miles. Thanks, though!
  • Thank you. I looked up Running Room. Apparently, they're only in 2 states, neither one of which is Texas (where I am). I did look at their online shop, and holy cheese and rice! Their running shoes START at $110? I couldn't do that anyway. I'm seriously thinking that there's only this one little place here that I've…
  • It's called Foot Tech. It's been a looong time since I've paid over $35 for shoes, but I understand that shoes designed specifically for running with certain types of feet in mind would cost more than that. I sure hope I can find some closer to the $50 because otherwise I'll be using them to get me to work and school…
  • Thank you. After searching online, I think I might have found one. They really don't have much info on their site. I'm actually surprised to find one. I hope they're still in business. Before I go there, can you tell me how much I should expect to pay for them to look at my feet and sell me shoes? It would suck for them to…
  • Thanks for posting! I've bookmarked it. It all makes perfect sense to me. Except that I didn't know that "pink" was a mass value. Hehe.
  • All of my panties are plain, solid-color cotton from Wal Mart. All my bras are plain white and boring. There's no point in spending money on cute or sexy lingerie if I don't look cute or sexy wearing it. But I really want cute/sexy matching bra and panty sets. One of these days.... I WILL buy some and I WILL look good in…
  • Call me immature, but when I red this and saw your expression in your photo, I lol'd! Can't believe no one pointed that out. I have nothing helpful to say that previous posters didn't already cover.
