I've been multiple times and not had an issue with rides though Space Mountain will be tight. That being said, my biggest issue is the walking. The last time I went I wasn't in good shape and my knees were in so much pain from the walking that I used an electric cart. Totally humiliating for me but I also didn't want to…

Things that helped me: LOTS of water. It's almost all I drink now. And no, diet soda doesn't count. I always thought it did and some professionals even said - fine, liquid is liquid. It's not. At least not for me. Diet soda dramatically increases my desire for sugar. Limiting fake sugar. Like all sweeteners in diet soda,…

Feel free to add me. Same name. I was wondering why MFP has a FitBit group but Vivofit does not . . .

It doesn't come with but you can link an ANT+ to your vivofit. Not all HRM are ANT+ but both Garmin and Polar make them.

I'm with everyone else on the Couch to 5K. I used it almost 15 years ago to start running (at 250 pounds) and made my goal to run a marathon for my 30th birthday in 2000. All those things happened. Successfully. I was never the fastest in any race I ran and I was even last once but I had the Courage to Start. I'm now 45…

Thank you!

I do. 100mcg levothyroxine daily for the last 4+ years. Add middle aged woman to that and weight loss is a huge challenge but not more than I can handle! The keys for me are both reasonable diet and definitely keeping at or under my calorie goal for the day, activity, and patience! I think the hardest part of the weight…

I got a vivofit over the weekend and am totally obsessed with it. Love the "red-bar-of-shame" It makes me move when I wouldn't have previously. Feel free to add me. dwntwnpengrl

And the Hoosiers take over! Grew up in Columbus, IN and am now in Indianapolis. I've lived in Chicago, Charleston, Miami, Bloomington IN, Terre Haute IN, and Muncie IN. 45, been with my boyfriend for 11 years, no kids though we had a Newfoundland until he passed a few years ago. That's like having a very big, hairy, 3 year…

Absolutely everything Sue said. AND, patience. I rarely lose my patience with people but with myself and losing weight, well, it's a struggle. If I plateau, even for a week (ok, really 2 weeks), then I begin to slide. When I'm as kind to myself as I am to other people, I find I'm more successful. For me it's the obvious…

I'm not sure my head would be ABOVE my desk to lay down on my desk.

No idea. That's something your doc can judge. Asking never hurts. But, ssri's are listed on the drug interaction list for Beliviq. That being said, one of the pain killers that I use on a not frequent basis is listed on the drug interaction list and I still take belviq.
-
I hit my first goal of losing 5% of my body weight in 6 or 7 weeks. Belviq says if you don't lose that within 12 weeks then you need to look at something different. So, my next goal is another 5% (of original weight - 10% total). Hope to make that by my 12 week check up with the doc. Slowed down and lost motivation but I'm…

I've finished week 3. It's working. I have no appetite. Not to be graphic but I do have the constipation side effect which sucks. I mean, I don't feel bad but it does mean that I can have a 4 pound difference in one day. For instance I KNOW I haven't had more than 1500 calories on any given day but this past week I managed…

I'm Molly. 44. No kids. Current weight is 245. I have 1 very supportive boyfriend and 1 very supportive mother. I mostly live with my boyfriend who is a type 2 diabetic. But I do own a home where I stash my mother I was early to "mature." I had a very curvy body and weighed 140 by the time I was in the 8th grade. Not…

Same as everyone else . . . I wish I'd started sooner. I regret that in my 20s and 30s when I heard (and knew) that losing weight was easier the younger I was, that I didn't just get it done then. Every pound is now a struggle. As if motivation wasn't hard enough to find.

Yep.

I'm new here too. 43. I've been perri-menopausal for about two years. I'm also a breast cancer survivor (12 years ago - Stage 1b, ER+, lumpectomy, radiation, tamoxifen for 1.5 year). Also hypothyroidism. So, no HRT for me either. I found an interesting combo of anti-depressants actually helped with the hot flashes and…

I'm a black card member. I make it about 4 days a week. I know that the Y is roughly $50 a month for a single person (without a discount program through work or their sliding scale). Even with a discount through work it was $35 a month for me and while I miss the pool, the ULTRA clean machines, and the hot tub, PF just…

I'm younger in my head. My aches and pains remind me that I'm 43. I work about 50 hours a week and work out in the evening. I used to get up at 5:15am and workout in the morning before work but I just can't motivate myself that early anymore. I try to workout 5 days a week and do yoga/Pilates 1 day a week and rest 1 day a…

Good job! That's hard work. I've got myself fortified for opening night at the Indians tonight. I'm indulging in 1 hot dog and 1 bag of peanuts. That's about 1/4 of what I would have eaten last season. Thanks for posting your success!

My FT4 occasionally has fits and stops tracking. It doesn't seem to like Tuesdays or anytime I go for more than a day without wearing it. Totally scientific data ;-) But, my guess is that at some point during your walk, it lost signal with the HRM. It would still track time. I have to place the HRM in just the right place…

I'm here! I'm a golfer and I think the first round is going to be this weekend. WOOHOO. I'm not a "serious" golfer other than I'm serious about it when I play and would like to seriously not suck. But, my best game is in the low 120s so far (3-4 years). I would suggest Golf magazine. They usually a have a few exercises…

If you're REALLY concerned, go see your doctor. But, if you keep that HRM on and start walking on a regular basis, my best guess (from my experience) is that your resting heart rate, and thus your standing-around heart rate will come down. If walking is too much try a nice mosey. That's what I started with a nice, slow,…

When I was running (even over 200 lbs) it was in the mid 50s. I once had an EKG and the tech kept asking if I felt OK because laying down it drops into the 30s. And I feel just fine, thank you :-)

I'd like to walk and move and not feel like I'm 65. I'm 43.
