Personally don't like the outfit but you look great! Whatever you end up wearing, strut your stuff!

The OP would've been much better off including the well-known disclaimer: "Results not typical. Individual results may vary." lol But seriously, her tummy looks fantastic... although I do agree she has to thank genetics for the lack of stretch marks and ab separation. Her rockin bod is not just the consequence of exercise…

Awesome you're feeling better! Keep up the good work! (Does your doctor know, though? May not be good to quit your meds cold turkey.)

"Here are my other issues: PCOS, Insulin Resistant, Hypothryoidism (which I have been medicated for and stable levels for over 10 years)" In light of your medical history, I would encourage you to see a professional for your weight loss goals. What worked for other people on here without those conditions may not work for…

[/quote] If healthcare costs become so high that you could no longer afford it, would you still not care? I don't know if you've been reading the papers, but that's where the US is headed...

The obesity epidemic has undoubtedly added to the cost of healthcare. An overweight person with type 2 diabetes who doesn't eat healthy and doesn't exercise will most likely have a harder time controlling his blood sugars. This results in higher rates of complications, more office visits, and more hospitalizations. It…

I've heard of people doing this with tea. Keeps you fuller longer, gives you some extra energy. Rather just stick with a dash of full-fat milk...

I think a lot of us are remembering how we felt/looked at a certain number. That doesn't mean that a person can't build more muscle and look fantastic at another number... But I think that's where a lot of hang-ups lie.

My gym's pool is narrower than most. They still try to have six lanes, though, so the lanes are pretty narrow as well. Too much so to be able to circle swim, unfortunately.
-
Guilty to some extent. Only really an issue with lap swimming. My gym doesn't have many lanes and it can get quite backed up in the afternoons. When I've been waiting more than 30 minutes for lane, I get kinda aggravated watching people water-walking for an hour or swimming so slowly they might as well be floating. These…

Thanks for the replies, guys. I don't know what equipment they used. There really isn't a convenient place around here to get another test. But I'm guessing I shouldn't worry about it. Edit: Darn, really wish I would've read the website before getting the test!

bump. anyone?

Pregnant?

I kind of disagree with the prevailing thought that women can't get bulky by lifting weights/ resistance training. I'm thinking back to my competitive swimming years and how my shoulders got pretty meaty-looking. I never looked like a female fitness model or body builder, that's true, but you could still tell the…

You may want to tone down the sarcasm. It's rude. People are just giving their thoughts on it.

^^ This. If you already exercise-- and you don't have an existing medical issue with your lymphatic system, as another poster mentioned-- I don't think you'll see any added benefit from it. However, I'm never one to turn down a massage!

Both have very little fat and lean muscle. One has different muscle definition than the other, but I think that just comes from working the muscles differently. Both look fantastic, in my opinion. But do those examples of extremes really apply to someone who jumps on the elliptical 30 minutes to be a little bit more active…

Were you told not to do cardio every day as a general rule? Or so as not to aggravate your foot injury? If it's the latter, I'd listen to whoever said that an incorporate rest days... maybe do it every other day. If it's the former... ehhh... There seems to be quite a bit of debate on this forum how and whether people…

He's just giving you crap. Give it right back... what are those 12 oz-ers? Beer cans?

Congrats! You look stunning in your dress!

Treadmill running works the muscles a little differently than running on a road or trail. So be careful! Listen to your body. You can use this run to figure what's a good outdoor pace for you and work to get faster from there. I ran on the treadmill almost exclusively b/c 1) I liked to easily see my pace 2) I live in a…

Omg this sounds so cool! (The race, not the jellyfish :0) I was a pretty good competitive swimmer in HS. I don't do it as much now d/t time constraints, but I'm trying to get back into it. This summer by me there is an aquathlon series (5 events) that I have my eye on. Never tried open water, though-- little scared!

Listen to your body. It will take a little time to get back into your routine. I don't think there's anything else you realistically do. Also, make sure you're drinking. Being sick can leave you dehydrated.

Yep... My measurements are 32ish-26-34. I'm 5'5" 118 lbs, 17% BF. Would love to get my waist down to 25" but I don't know if that will ever happen! As a senior in HS, I went through a rough patch and my weight went down to a measly 108 lbs. I do not think my waist was 25" even then.

I wish I could buy raw milk! Damn Wisconsin...

Second this ^^^^ Without knowing you or them or the conversations, it's hard to tell if the cause is jealousy or being burned out by perceived bragging/repetitive topics. Be careful it's not the latter. PS A bunch of my coworkers and my best friends are having kids. I swear to bejesus, if I have to ooo/ahhh another baby…

I work night shifts, so the days I work my sleep is spotty at best. It has been my downfall. I get up-- half-asleep-- a few times during the day after a shift... Aware enough to know I'm hungry and to get around the kitchen, not awake enough to remember everything I eat, but apparently uninhibited enough to eat a box of…

This ^^^^ My bet is this since you said you try to eat "lean" (ie no fat). Everyone needs a little fat!

Levaquin can cause swelling and breakdown of the muscle. I don't know if that's what happened in your case (and would thus explain the weight gain). But it would be a good idea to make a follow-up appointment. In the meantime, make sure you're drinking enough water! Antibiotics can be hard on the kidneys to begin with...

I'm sorry. That situation really sucks. I wouldn't stay with him though. You say everything is great until his family starts talking about your weight? What if they start talking about your parenting choices? Or how much you go out? Ho you dress? Where you work? Just leaves me uneasy. He doesn't sound like the stable…
