Congrats on the inches lost! If I lost those inches, I'd be thrilled. Not sure what's going on though with the weight gain.... Maybe play around with the calories a bit more and find the point at which you lose.

This. Long runs are the only way I'm going to get even close to 1000 cal. (and even then, I wonder)

5'5" CW 117-118; GW 114 Measurements 33-26-34. I know my waist isn't going to get any smaller, but my face usually carries the extra weight. If I get rid of my chipmunk cheeks, I'm happy.

I like the ideas of swimming. Have you also considered interval training to build lean muscle? Not sure if your doctor would OK it but may be worth a try.

Yay! Good job!

Just do what you can while still challenging yourself. I'm fairly fit already, but I will do a Jillian workout when I want to work my arms or need a quick workout.

Are you recovering from an ED? 5'6" and 97 lbs puts you well below a healthy BMI. Better talk with a physician that specializes in this.

Wow... This is a big parenting fail, but not in the way the OP intended it. That isn't a healthy relationship with food, and then she has the nerve to blame grandma. I mean really, should she have sneaked miralax into your child's koolaid to make sure he had a bowel movement before weigh in? What lengths are you really…

You're just going to have to log it and see how many calories you're left with. If that amount is enough to get you through supper, good job.

Yea, sometimes I will add a few more ab exercises when I do her 30DS. Honestly, though, the #1 thing that makes my mid-section look better is just loosing the extra fat and bloat. Whenever I do that, I can see whatever muscles I have hiding down there. Since no can target fat loss, I don't know if the ab extra exercises…

Remember when you start new exercise your body can retain water. I don't know for sure if this is what's happening, given that it's now a month later. Maybe give it a couple more weeks.

My husband and I are getting a dog this spring. Can't wait! We already have a cat, but you know, you can't walk a cat. :)

What one do you use? How does it taste? Madison, I'm doing a local one. Nothing too big. Hoping to get under 2hours :)

Thanks for the post. I do notice my mid-week short runs (3-5 miles) have that effect. For those, I run before breakfast, and then I'm usually not even hungry for a meal. For my longer ones, I can't run before a meal because I hit a wall without the fuel. I'll try playing around with meal times. The thing I haven't tried is…

I do snack... dried fruit, granola bars, fresh fruit... But literally, my appetite is such that I could eat a whole bag of cherries.

Good for you! Life happens but never give up.

Interesting thread. Shows everyone is different. 118 lbs and size 4 mostly, 2 in more expensive brands.

My husband, who was a cross country athlete in college, would say the more you run, the better your body gets at cooling itself (ie, better at sweating). So perhaps sweating more is a good thing? Shows your body can adapt?

How fun! Enjoy it-- you will (and rightly should) feel so accomplished at the finish line!

My advice to the OP is to give them something else to talk about. I agree with the others in that they are just trying to make small talk. Maybe mention you have a dog, or work in where you live... then, maybe next time they see you they'll feel comfortable asking about those things rather than the ol', "Geez, do you live…

Haven't seen it or experienced it. :-/ Someone flirt with me, quick! lol

I second the home workout suggestion. When I work my stretch of 12.5-hr night shifts, they are a life saver.
-
When I started the pill, I had no change in weight. If anything, the pill actually stabilized it a bit during the TOM because I had less cravings, less of a bloat, etc. My GP tells me most of the weight gained is water weight anyhow.

1. Shrimp. Hate how you can see their poop chute. 2. Sweet potato. Just not a fan. In general, I love my food. Damn.

Hot mamma! Great job!

Awesome job! You should be proud of yourself how you didn't give up!

5'5" CW 120. Goal weight 114, which is what I weighed in college. Vanity pounds. ;)

One thing to add: be wary of RMR tests. Not all are created equal, some are just plain wrong. I had mine tested at a university and it gave me a ridiculously low number (600kcal). Do your research and ask them lots of questions before giving them your money!

Because this is the internet, and people tend to say things they wouldn't say to a person's face.
