Sounds pretty accurate to me if you were walking for 12 hours straight - if you got to 11 miles, that's just a hair under a mile per hour.

Well done! Love your post and your story. Thanks for sharing!

Nice work! You are clearly loving life, too! Thanks for the inspiration.

Food-wise, I'm wondering if your protein and calorie intake are adequate. Perhaps try more protein (roasted chicken leg & thigh, hard-boiled egg, cheese sticks, yogurt, tuna salad). Also, allowing yourself to have a hearty soup and salad for a dinner meal (in addition to your morning meal) might carry you along.

Good for you for being brave enough to post! I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved, and for the stress of taking care of your roommate. That's a lot for anyone, let alone all in the space of about a year. Do you have the option of going back to therapy for awhile? Or finding a grief specialist? This year I had a really…

Congratulations, you've been working hard! Nice loss, and what a great celebration for your 1-year-anniversary. Looking forward to reading more updates on your success story!

Congratulations, you've worked hard for this! Loved the post by your daughter! And thanks for the inspiration.

Agree with the suggestions to get a fitting at your local bike shop. Well worth it. Tell them the symptoms you are experiencing. The hand numbness may be from putting too much weight on your hands as you ride. By adjusting the height of the handlebar stem, so that it's higher, you'll be riding in less of a tuck and more…

Wow, what a transformation! Amazing and inspiring! More details about your workout routine, please!

Welcome! Many of us have been where you are. Keep up with the walking if your back will allow you. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I think 0.8 miles per walk is a great start for you. I would say just keep doing that distance until it gets a little easier, don't worry about pushing yourself past it yet. That will come…

Some things that have been helpful for me in the past: have protein at every meal for a few days (hardboiled eggs, chicken, tuna, cheese), make peppermint tea for a snack, get a walk in every day, try journaling your feelings. Know that your feelings (and you) have value.

That's wonderful!!!

Thanks for posting this. I think we have all had to deal with saboteurs. There is a reason why the phrase "well-meaning" does not have entirely positive connotations! You handled that in a very honest, forthright, and positive way. Good for you, and good for your friend in responding appropriately to you.

Happy birthday to your aortic valve! Great job taking charge of your life and health. Thanks for the inspirational post.

You are beautiful and you are so rocking that bikini! Love your attitude and your approach of "finding opportunity." And you are a born storyteller and motivator. Keep writing!

Congratulations and Happy Birthday! That's awesome!

Fabulous job!

Wow! Huge difference! You've definitely been working out hard and you look great!

Congratulations!!!

You can do this. For you, and for your kids. You've taken the first steps back towards health and fitness already, by stopping the diet pills, by coming back to MFP, by reaching out. My suggestions (take what you like and leave the rest): start by committing to one healthy meal a day at first, and to walking (at least) 15…

So exciting! And the coat looks great on you!

Well done!

Amazing progress, rhiannon_1985! You look gorgeous!

I have been where you are, and I think I am finally out of it. I hit my highest weight ever at the end of our summer vacation this year (my daily treat was a bag of Cheetos and a bag of M&Ms, to "make myself feel better") and I said NO MORE. That was the fuel I needed to really make change stick. The changes I have made:…
