Read the posts for newbies - take it 1 day at a time - and my mantra is "Every day is a new day for success!" Also get some friends to keep you motivated! I'll be one if you'd like!

Amazing work! Keep it up!

At 81 I still stay on MFP - track food relatively closely because I do not want that 55 pounds back! I exercise because I enjoy it - and can't wait for warmer weather so I can swim outdoors again. As far as foods go - I too could easily eat a quart of ice cream - and have been known to do it even lately - But I only allow…

This sounds like what I need to survive this coming month! November has been brutal on my accountability so I'm here to get it back together again! I'm a long term MFPer and have been successful at maintaining until lately! I'm ready to get back on board the losing train and this accountability sounds like it's for me so I…

My son is also a firefighter. Last spring he weighed in at 326 - most he'd ever weighed. He just turned the double nickle at the end of October weighing in at 236! He did it by cutting out sugar, white carb foods and a bunch of exercise! He goes to the Y whenever he's not working and gets on the treadmill for about an hour…

For those of you with bony knees, get a small pillow and put it between your knees for fetal sleeping! Been doing it for years because of hip replacements! It works!

I do like the taste of Brummel & Brown - yogurt based butter alternative with less calories.

Kay's natural chips or puffs. High in protein(12 g per bag) and most come in a 1 serving bag so I usually don't over do! calories between 110 and 125. The new pass the peas are lower in protein, only 90 cal per serving - but highly addictive - and they come in 4 serving bags! I'm finding it hard to stick with serving!

Have you tried any of the home made energy balls? Look up banana energy balls - or pumpkin balls. Basically they are oats, almond or peanut butter, and the fruit. Sometimes I add raisins or mini chocolate chips and then roll them in unsweetened coconut. You really can make them as dense as you want.

Here is my mantra - every day is a new day for success. Keep on working at it - I've been here for 1450 days - and I have never found anything else that has kept my weight loss from returning. You can do it! Don't let the mistakes derail you! They are going to happen - but in the long run MFP will work!

I know you are not a senior yet - but I go to a sit & be fit class 3 times a week and we do have some younger members with RA. I have two hip replacements, a knee replacement and a fused neck. The exercises we do there help me to move through the stiffness enough so that I can get outside to garden, pick up the yard, do…

Great job! Work just as hard at maintaining that great loss! At 79 YO I have yo yoed weight all my life up until I found MFP! I have now maintained a 50 # loss for 2 years - first ever! Keep watching what you eat - yes a splurge now and then, but don't let it get back to how you were eating! Good luck!

I am now 79 but 4 years ago I joined MFP and took about a year and a half to lose 55 pounds - regular and honest logging and exercise will do it! I have gained 5 back in the past 2 years but have maintained the weight loss for the first time ever in my lifetime. I am still logging daily and I firmly believe that is what…
