@mbaby66 The way I look at it is activity is activity. Any time we are up and moving is a good thing. When I first joined Garmin Connect, "Insights" sent me an article that said all steps are to be counted even if it means I am doing laundry, cleaning the house, vacuuming the floor...anything that gets me off the couch...so I count every single step during the day from the moment I get up in the morning until I go to bed at night. It simply means I am not sitting doing nothing watching TV or on the computer. While there is a difference between active and regular calories burned, steps are steps and that's what an activity counter does...measures all activity that is recorded as steps. So, you might want to count all steps you take during the day...not just the ones where you are purposely walking or running. Going up and down those stairs is steps taken, activity measured and you are to be rewarded for doing it! Just my opinion.

Do you guys use an app to count steps or one of those wrist band things? I might get one for Christmas, as I don't always carry my phone with me. Any advice/insight welcome! Might join you if you do this next month!

I have the garmin vivofit 2 and love it. You can track so much and I never take mine off when I'm not working. At work zi can't wear it so I just snap it out of the band and put it in my pocket and still counts mt steps.

I also have the garmin vivofit 2. It tracks my steps - even when I do water aerobics and water zumba - which is why I got it!

I have a Garmin Vivofit. I love it but I may upgrade to a Garmin that shows me how many calories I'm burning for an activity not just steps. The one I'm using is fine and very reasonable priced but...but...but there's NEW stuff out there! Lol! ~ Stephanie

@Lauralouhayes You don't have to wait til next month to start. This is open to everyone whenever they choose to join whether it be at the first, in the middle or at the end of the month. And yes, this will continue on next month and all of the following months as long as there is interest from all who are participating. If you don't have an activity tracker, you can just take your phone whenever you are mindfully walking as a workout or whatever and not worry about the entire day of steps. Make this personal...just for you...and however you want to use it. There are several free apps out there to track your steps ~ Stephanie

I will be out of town on the 1st so I've already posted the September Step support for those of you who want to continue to participate and for anyone who may want to join us.

Wow! Lots of steps this month for everybody. Everyone did so well and saw a lot more activity from sooo many than in previous months. Everyone has done a phenomenal job all the way around no matter the amount of steps taken by each one of you. You are up and moving and to be commended for every step you take, every activity in which you participate! Congratulations on a month well done! ~ Stephanie

because Iv not got an activity tracker I only "count/log" the walks I go on and usually track it with map my walk which for some reason no longer wants to find me and tracks nothing ??
if I counted my total daily steps with 5 little ones who never let me sit longer enough to even have a wee as well as the usual house work I must walk 100miles by lunch time hahahaha
