Oh, that is waaaay more detail than I get. My sleep log looks like this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByKCq_IoJJMTUjNHblBhcmVGNTZaVXBKNzlEM2VPVzhRd0JR There is no difference between the logs collected by my Flex, or by my Charge HR. Thank you. That is a very generous offer and I appreciate it, but I think I will…

That's what I was hoping for, but when I looked through my Charge HR sleep data via the dashboard on fitbit.com on my laptop, the same things that are missing from the phone app were missing there. It's strange that the experience with sleep logs from the Charge HR are different for different users, the same thing seems to…

@spingirl605 That's what I've been finding online, thank you for confirming that. I will avoid jawbone.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I understood your post right and wanted to make sure. :) @lorrpb I'm aware of that. I simply want to get enough data that I can tell from the logs whether I wok up during the night and how many times, how much of the time I spent sleeping was restless sleep and I'd like to be able to see patterns…

I'm looking for the amount of time spent in restful vs restless sleep, the amount of times I was awake during the night, with accurate minutes count for every part. @shadow2soul Which FitBit do you have? I had to stop using my Charge HR as the wristband fell apart, and I'm currently using an old Flex. I don't see any of…

I would love to join a newly started yoga group! I have lost momentum, and joining a group would help me get the drive to get back into it.

Back from vacation, right in time to find the new replies here. Thank you everyone for your suggestions! There may be a few friend requests sent out shortly... :)

I think I've seen three posts in a month, and two of them were mine. :( It's a shame. I don't know anyone who does yoga, either at work or outside work, and I was looking forward to talking to other enthusiasts about it.
-
I've noticed that I am more patient and sleep better when I get my yoga done in the evening. Do you go to classes or practice on your own? I'm still in the "on my own with YouTube"-stage of discovering yoga. :)

Hello everyone! I'm... dragon1ady, and I am probably the biggest geek here, by far. For one, look at my name. In addition to that, I am genuinely excited about the Linksys AC1900 I just installed and activated, my day job involves teaching others how to repair computers, I play video games, I read every chance I get, and…

And thank you for the reminder. I thought this was it, but I wasn't 100% sure. :)

This post is not helpful. If you're going to post something like this you need to include a list of the states and countries where it's illegal. I don't want to break the law! :D

Thirding goblet squats. Or you can hug a kettle bell to your chest.

There are a lot of desk jobs where getting up and moving about during the day simply isn't possible. For those jobs, you will simply need to become more active outside of work to compensate. I don't think anyone has mentioned this so I'm going to step out of the box and suggest something radical: Get a dog. If that is not…

Mine did something similar. I contacted FitBit customer service and they sent me a new band of the same size and color, right away, no questions asked. They were great about it, actually. May only work if yours is under warranty, but definitely worth a try. Disclaimer that I don't know what they do for customers outside…

In that case, MFP's activity levels are very poorly defined and labeled. After yet another day of not logging any activity at all and finding my adjustment to be about 270 calories, I have changed my account to Active. According to MFP, that means I "Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress,…
-
I have been experimenting. After switching my MFP account to Lightly Active I still had a large calorie adjustment at the end of each day, so I stopped logging my dog activities, as well as any other activity. With no exercise logged at all, I still find myself with a 250-300 calorie adjustment each day. Should I adjust my…
-
What threw me off is that MFP says Lightly Active is "Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)" and that's very far from what I do. That said, adjusting my activity level (to LA) based on what's been revealed in this thread has in crashed my MFP total with 350, which is a lot closer to FitBit's…
-
The dog walking is such a part of my routine that I just do it without thinking about it, which probably is why I never thought of it as physical activity. Thanks for pointing that out! I'll adjust my MFP profile to Lightly Active and see if the big discrepancy between MFP and Fitbit goes away.
-
Actually, never mind. I think I was either doing it wrong before, or the two weren't synching right. Tonight: Elliptical Entered minutes an cardio, entered the required starting time. Saved. Everything seems to have synched as it should :)
-
I have tried to log, but at least on the phone app, minutes and calories are required, which leads to double-logging every time. Deleting the duplicate afterward doesn't seem to help, since the FitBit synching doesn't adjust back down again.

I completely agree on planning and the importance of meeting goals, not constantly under-shooting them. Discovering late in the evening that I am 600 calories short of my daily goal is not my idea of a successful health/fitness plan! What has me thrown off is, what exactly is MFP's definition of sedentary, if my typical…

So to clarify if I have an adjustment of 500-600 coming over from Fitbit on a normal day, and a frightening 1,000 after my most recent gym visit, I'm at a pretty good level? Very new to FitBit and even newer to using it with MFP, but geek that I am, I want to get the most out of the new toy! (The detailed posts in this…

LOL That IS a great ticker! It didn't load for me before.... it has a built-in motivator to stay on track!

This. Lots of carbs before drinking and lots of water while drinking can help, but ultimately the simple truth is that your tolerance for alcohol drops as you avoid it. The only way to keep your tolerance up is to indulge frequently, which really probably isn't something you should be doing if you're trying to lose weight…

Zombies, Run! 5K. Available on iPhone and Android, and I've heard rumors of a Windows port as well. Their website has more info on that. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sixtostart.zombies5k&hl=en

Welcome to Abel, new Runner #5.

I know this is an old thread, but today I did my first zombie run in the Nike dri-fit/thermal/whatever running clothes that my family gave me for Christmas. It's almost scary a difference it makes to run in cold weather in clothes that were made for running in cold weather. As an extra bonus, the pants are very flattering…

Look at their Pedometer app. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/show/4 It can link to your MFP account and automatically log your calories here. I've done that with the Runtastic original that I run/walk with.

Looks/Works the same on my Android. The accelerometer doesn't work very well on mine though, but I don't do zombie chases on treadmills, so it's not an issue for me. Welcome to Abel, New Runner #5!
