I have always loved cottage cheese but it has to be small curd (I like beakstone's) and I mix in some Catalina dressing. It adds a nice zing :)

i'm with you 110%... if you have not already, read "the unhealthy truth"

i had them since my late 30's until recently. As of January I cut almost all carbs out of my diet. In addition to weightloss I have stopped sweating at night any my husband (who also cut out carbs) has stopped snoring. We both feel so much better.

Massachusetts in the house :) I live south of Boston along the coast. Nice to see people from all over using this awesome site to meet their goals.

what works for me is to remember how your feel right now next time you are faced with the same temptation. obviously you can't have a do-over but next time maybe you will make a different choice. do a little extra fitness (cardio if possible) this week and those two pounds will be gone in no time.

Can I join the challenge?

i'm in. i was just mapping out my next 12 weeks of fitness. I am doing a 190 mile ride in August.

it is awesome. i have done it for a few years. i recently moved over to hot vinyasa flow clost to my home because the bikram class was a 45 minute drive each way and that plus a 90 minute class was too big of a time commitment. the room will be about 105+ degrees and 40% humidity. if you have a true bikram disciple…

@NoGoWorkout - Why do you think so? Lots of people have things monitored by their physicians for many reasons. Plus, that statement was in response to the people who keep making inflammatory statements about kidney function. If you have concerns about your kidneys your physician should be the person you consult about organ…

I agree with the above but also want to say if you were doing low cal/low fat and went back to eating foods high in cal/fat you would gain the weight back. As for the kidneys & organ damage - that is a scare tactic. I happen to have kidney problems and eat this way. I make sure to drink an amount of water each day that is…

Good luck to you! Our bodies were designed to eat this way (hunter & gatherer) and in no time you will feel all the benefits of your hard work.

I have tons of GF cooking experience, i have a husband and daughter with celiac, so feel free to ask me any questions.

This is right up my alley! I happen to have kidney problems and eat this way. I make sure to drink an amount of water each day that is tied to my weight (so yours would be different) but suffice to say it is a lot. In addition I have lemon in one glass (usually the first in the morning) which aids in my kidney function. In…

i like the previous post (i was a dancer too). in the meantime can you swim? or do something else to maintain the endurance you have while your foot rests? finally for your next race try running with two pairs of socks on. that helps me - the friction is between the two socks rather than between your foot and the sock.

i don't have them but many of my friends do. congrats to you. for those of you considering ... another friend of my just had a new procedure where they removed the excess fat from her legs (knee to thigh area) and injected it around her breasts. she looks amazing. totally natural. no real pain in her chest (but similar…

wow -- thanks for the links. we are lucky to live in a quaint small town where the pizza shop ordered gluten free crusts they keep in the freezer so my daughter can have a take out pizza if she wants.

if you cook it well it becomes really tender and you can mash it by hand or with a food processor. I usually do it by hand (less clean up afterwards). do you typically eat low carb? we have a gluten free child and that is what lead up to a low carb lifestyle for the rest of us. do you know anything about paleo lifestyle?…

cauliflower is great. we also use it as a mashed potato substitute.

i get them online http://www.miraclenoodle.com/?gclid=CJafq66nnagCFQbc4Aod52c2HQ if they are all you can have - they are great. you have to get past a smell when you open them but it goes away once you rinse them and dry them. there is also a miracle rice but it is back ordered.

@robertag - great links. i had been to genaw before but not yourlighterside. thanks for sharing!

breakfast is hard for me. I start my day at 5:30 and work out around 6:00. I make my husband breakfast at 6:30 then I clean up and make kids lunches, they come down at 7:00. I feed my kids at 7:15. they leave at 7:50. I shower at 8:00 and leave by 9:00 usually with an atkins shake in my hand :) lunches are typically a bed…

google image a picture of Usain Bolt (a sprinter) and Robert Kiprono (a marathoner). put them side by side and you will see the difference between interval cardio and endurance cardio.
