Yes -- I went to the running store near me (Marathon Sports). I guess I was wondering if other people have the same discomfort when they get started - this pain is new to me but I have never started from the beginning the way I am now. I have been off the track for at least three years.

I have the Fitbit Flex (bracelet) -- have had it two days. Love it! Still getting to know it but already know I'm going like the info it provides :)

I didn't think of the 30ds -- I have it here. Maybe that is a good place to start. Thanks for the replies.

This post is just what I needed this morning :)~ ... Slowly sipping coffee ... Turning on the griddle now OP i suggest you modify your consumption to match your weightloss. Drinks hit me a lot harder/faster last night than in the past. Two reasons I suppose - I weigh less and I drink less often. Have a blast Sunday. Edit…

I have learned a lot from this post and I want to let you know how much I appreciate you coming back into the thread without guns blazing. All too often a poster who is corrected takes it personal and what could be a great post turns into a fight.

As a general statement, in my business I see a lot of personal financial information and just because you drive it does not mean you own it or can even really afford it. 100% true. Especially shoes. OP I assume you must work hard to have the car and while I do think her comment was out of line I applaud you for not…

My husband (who has lost 45 lbs) made a comment last night that his shoes felt like clown shoes because the were suddenly too big.

Try dropping the processed carbs all together. Do not replace them with something else that's processsed. If you do need a bread we like Udi's. It is the only brand that can make it to lunch in my daughter's bag without crumbling.
-
My daughter and husband have celiac and as a result my daughter never drank dairy products so she is GFCF. We all eat mostly natural unprocessed foods.

So sorry!

My Husband stopped snoring as soon as he reduced his carbs. He subsequently lost weight (-45 lbs) and is still no longer snoring. For my husband there is a definite link between carbs and snoring.

One more tip -- If you are running outside try using telephone poles as a guide. Run two walk one. Run three walk one. Might be easier than counting.

Wow. Good for her. My bother, his wife and their oldest ran for the Samaritans. I did the PMC instead. Not sure I have 26.2 in me. Keep me posted if she is running again next year I will donate.
-
OP-- Great job. That will build your endurance slowly and before you know it you will be running more than walking. No need to bring water with you at this stage. Good luck - keep it up! doornumber3. Love the profile pic. What marathon did your wife run? I'm in MA too.

My diet is 80% free from junk. I do my best not to eat anything artificial. Every meal for me is centered around protein - lean red meat, chicken, white meat turkey, fish, tuna canned in water, eggs, hard cheese. Then I add fibrous carbs such as broccoli, asparagus, green beens, celery, spinach, kale (I get as much green…

go to a true running store for a fitting (for me it is marathon sports). there are shoes for all kinds of feet and at a running store they are trained to help you find the right one. If your budget is tight don't buy it at that time as they will only have the latest and greatest colors and styles. instead go home and…
