I don't know anything about the BowFlex, and always thought I would like one. However, I have a Nordic Track E7 5i and I like it. It's not quite the same as the E9 5i, but I think it is similar. I also have a treadmill that I use all the time. I know that you are not looking for a treadmill and I only mention it because…

I buy Fiber Gourmet pasta. Love it. It's nearly half the calories with lots more fiber and protein and tastes very much like regular pasta. There is a very slight difference in texture in some of the shapes, but it's still delicious. I really like their elbows and rotini. The spaghetti is good, but not as good as the…

There is always more than one way to do it, but the way I like to have mine set up is to set myself to sedentary on My Fitness Pal and let my Fitbit add ALL my exercise calories. This works for me because my main exercise is walking or running. I could set myself as more active, and then the Fitbit would just give me less…

I don't agree with the theory that if you can watch TV etc then you are not working out. Anything you are doing above and beyond sitting around is better than nothing. I get between 10,000 and 20,000+ steps per day. Much of which is on my treadmill in the winter months. Mostly walking. I'm typing this as I walk right now!…

Dinner is my hardest time as well. For me I think it’s the structure of the work day that makes the day easier. I pack what I pack and that’s what I eat. The busier I am the less I think about food. On my way home I’m usually starting to get hungry again and I’m thinking about dinner and tend to grab a snack. It’s worse…

I do love my food scale too, though I don't use it for every little thing. I use it mostly for calorie dense things and to get a handle on serving sizes. I leave a few calories as a buffer for sloppy logging and that's working for me. If I weren't losing, I'd definitely make sure to tighten up on the weighing, and I may…

I know exactly how you feel and my calorie goals are even less thanks to my being short. I was a faithful MFP user for quite a long time. I did great at losing and maintained for over a year. Then about a year ago decided to try not logging. I gained a bit back and am now trying to lose a few again. I am resigned to the…

I switched to Fiber Gourmet pasta. Right around 1/2 the calories and lots more fiber and a bit more protein. I really like it. The texture is not exactly like regular, but it's close, and it tastes more like regular pasta than the wheat pastas I've tried. My favorite is their Elbow pasta. I love it. I introduced it to one…

I run nearly every day, but I am a total amateur about these things, so let that be known... For what it's worth.... I always run before eating or even drinking. I get up and am out the door early in the morning. However, I find I have more energy when I eat a larger meal the night before a longer run. I recently did a 14…

I have the Charge HR. I find it easier to pull the shopping cart when I'm shopping. Rather than trying to push with one hand. I grab the front and pull it along instead. It's a lot easier.

I'm in the same boat. 51, 5'1, 110 lbs. So sedentary maintenance is about 1310. I am not sedentary, but I have a fitbit that adds calorie adjustments as I earn them through movement. I usually earn 350-700+ cals a day depending on what I do. I walk or run nearly every day. It earns lots of calories and makes me feel great.…

I pretty much stopped drinking milk (and I drank skim because I prefer the taste) not because it's bad or because I feel better, but simply because I'd rather eat my calories. Pretty much anything I drink is very low calorie. I know skim milk isn't that high in calories, and it's very nutritious, but like I said I'd rather…

The Charge HR does not need to be tapped into sleep mode, that's the Flex. The HR "knows" when you go to sleep by your lack of movement and possibly your heart rate. I know it even knows when I take a nap in the middle of the day which I might do once in a while on the weekend. So no worries that you have to tell it when…

I like to use Map My Run on my phone because I also like to listen to Pandora while I run. I have very small arms/wrists so an arm band just doesn't work for me. I bought a runners zippered pocket that goes around my waist. A little like a "fanny pack" but NOT. It's very slim and not bulky at all. It can fit my phone, but…

I so get where you are coming from. I HAD yo-yo’s for nearly 30 years. I had gained and lost about 30-45 lbs over and over. I always felt I knew how to lose weight because I was always able to do it, I just couldn’t keep it off. I had just lost around 25 lbs AGAIN and noticed I was on an upswing AGAIN when in casual…

By the way our local news did a story on Fitness Trackers and the Flex was rated as one of the most accurate. Hoping the ChargeHR is the same as I am not sure that they included that one in the testing. When I first got my Charge I wore both the Charge and the Flex for the day and they gave very similar results which I…

I had a Flex for a year and I LOVED it, which is actually why I upgraded to the Charge HR, which I like even better! (I gave my Flex to my husband. ) I wanted more information. Below are some insights that I have about each. For the first day with my Charge HR, I wore both the Flex and Charge so that I could compare…

I do this all the time. I try to eat under calories during the work week so that I can indulge a little on the weekend. As long as it all evens out it works. I've been maintaining this way for 2 years. I like food and sweets and being able to eat a bit more on the weekend keeps me sane.

As the other said link them and let the Fitbit make adjustments because even if you could enter something manually, you still wouldn't know the true calorie burn. 10,000 steps of light walking is a lot less calories than 10,000 steps of a fast run. And most people move at lots of different rates throughout the day and the…

I love my Fitbit HR. I had the Flex for a year and I loved that too, but I really like the extra info from the HR and being able to see info on the device itself. One of the best parts about the Fitbit is linking it with MFP and knowing with pretty good accuracy exactly how much I can eat each day. No more logging my walks…

Another thing that might affect the adjustments is Calorie Estimation. I have calorie estimation disabled so that the Fitbit doesn't guess what I might burn. Instead it just gives me credit for what I do burn. Once in a while I may see a 10-30 calorie difference from night to morning in MFP, but not always and never huge…

Do you log food in MyFitnessPal or Fitbit? I log everything only in MFP and just use the Fitbit dashboard as a visual of the day. Your MFP snapshot looks just like mine. We must have the same calorie numbers. I only go by MFP numbers and have seen some weird things happen on the Fitbit site over the past couple of months.…

Been using it for nearly 2 years. I've yo-yo'd my whole life. MyFitnessPal is the only thing that was able to help me lose those last few pounds to finally be at a weight that I am truly happy with and KEEP it off without yo-yoing anymore.

If you never want it to give you extra calories then you may want to do what sark1971 said and unlink the two accounts. If it's just certain times that you don't want it to give you the extra calories, you can manually log something during a time that fitbit says you earned calories and give yourself zero calories. For…

Check to see if you have Calorie Estimation enabled in your Fitbit settings. If it is, you might want to disable it. I have it turned off and I do not have large changes in calorie count throughout the day. Mine simply shows my calories based on my base amount plus what I've actually already earned. It doesn't guess what I…

Mine has been syncing fine.

Love, love, love my Fitbit. I had a Flex for a year and just upgraded to the Charge HR. (I set up the Flex for my husband.) I love how it syncs with MFP to give me a better idea of the calories I can eat. I've been maintaining for a year with it and it's great to be able to eat more when I'm more active. I find it…

Wore my ChargeHR for the first day today. I set my Flex up for my husband last night, but just for today I wore them both on the same hand to see how they compared. They were within less than 100 steps of each other. I was happy to see that. I am enjoying the extra information that the Charge gives. I was also happy to…

I am pretty small. 110 lbs 5' 1.5" Just trying to maintain. When I get in about 20,000 steps my Fitbit will give me around 700 calories give or take depending on the intensity. Granted that's on a good active day, but I try to get between 12,000-20,000 steps a day. So your numbers don't seem out of the ordinary, though I…

I have an android Galaxy S4 and on mine, when MFP is open there are 3 little bars in the top left corner. Tap those and the menu opens. I can scroll down and choose sync. However I have to say even that doesn't always work for me. The best way that I can get it to sync is by adding food or sometimes even just by clicking…
