Bryan/College Station for the last 7 years (gotta love Academia!) Nice to see a few other B/CS people in here :)

byoml2013 - So glad to hear you want to go paleo in the end! I recommend it to everyone. After doing a whole 30, and then adding dairy back in, I find that I can handle high quality & grassfed cheeses (thank God, else keto would be harder lol). As for the coconut milk - yes! I add a half cup (of canned coco milk) to my…

I've been paleo/primal for about a year, but just started my keto journey on Sunday. Feel free to add me :)

I'm more primal than paleo (I allow grass-fed butter, and occasionally some high-quality cheese), and I've been on it for almost a year, save for a few weeks where life got hectic. Been on it strictly since mid January, and am down 14 pounds in about 6 weeks. I sleep better, my eczema went away (I think gluten irritates…

Zero gauges in my ears, both rooks, tongue, snakebites (retired), septum (retired), and nips lol

I like this idea the best, just in case 'life' happens and I cannot get exercise in like I had planned. According to most calculators I've looked at (tried a few) my TDEE-20% with no exercise is around 1633-1750 depending on the calculator. Sadly, I struggle to eat barely 1400 calories...this is going to be a challenge,…

If you need a break, take a break. BUT, still try to push yourself. Still move around during your breather if you can...whenever I needed to catch my breath, I would still hop a little or jog in place. As for being sore, you need to stretch more than JM does in the video. I dedicate about 15-20 minutes of stretching at the…

I was aware of that. I take the calories burned with a heavy grain of salt.

What I eat is not a problem, as I maintain a fairly paleo (occasionally primal) diet. It's the fact that I'm a full-time student graduating in May while also working part-time, plus am active in an organization that requires me to meetings and whatnot throughout the week, that is the problem. I know these are excuses and…

Risking any gain is a bit scary.... as I'm in a wedding on March 9th. The dress I bought is a size smaller than I am right now. Plenty of time to go down a size...but I really don't want to gain and risk the dress not fitting and having an unhappy bride on my hands LOL. I may just err on the side of caution and do the…

I've had bok choy before and always thought it was delicious! But, this was my first time cooking it. The recipe called for baby bok choy (more tender/less cooking time), but all I had was regular bok choy. Thus, it cooks a little longer. I chopped the stems (white portion) separate from the green leaves, and tossed them…

Chicken, bok choy, bacon, scallions, red onions, carrots, garlic, red pepper, coconut oil. This was DELICIOUS.

I've never actually had ahi, but love seafood. Is it overly 'fishy' or more on the 'mild' side? Just curious...might have to try some!

This was delicious! Grass-fed beef burgers with chiles and spices mixed in, on top of an avocado/roasted red pepper sauce and topped with sauteed peppers.
-
The grass-fed NY strips from last night... look at that sear! Mmmm they were delicious!

Boring but delicious blackened salmon with steamed broccoli Omelette: 2 eggs, green onions, green bell pepper, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, topped with homemade salsa

Aww, you all are so kind! I was hoping that I wouldn't be the type to "not see" change, but I guess it just comes with the territory most of the time. I know numbers (mainly measurements, the scale is p*ssing me off lately since I've been building a lot of muscle in boot camp haha) don't lie, I just wish I could see it…

I'd give myself at least a B, possibly an A. I eat really healthy, my problem is I struggle to eat enough lol. Not on purpose, though! I feel like I'm always eating and yet rarely go near my 1570 cals. I even try to make sure my breakfast is at least 350-400 cals but some days I fail. I'm about to eat a low sugar/carb…

I just signed up, but don't know where to go from here...haha. My s/n is the same on there.

I received a digital food scale for Christmas and I use this thing religiously every day, to make sure I'm getting the correct serving size (or multiple thereof) so I can log the calories. It is SO easy to overestimate and it's made me realize how bad I used to be at "guessing." Sometimes I was WAY off, haha. I recommend…

yuckidah - There are a lot of variables as to why you lose what you do in the timeframe you do, but for me I really think I wasn't eating near enough for the activity I've been doing. I suggest giving it a try. What's a week or two going to do if you're not seeing results right now? :)

Thanks for all the responses! I just did day 5 (lvl 1) and took just ONE small break, during side lunges/anterior raises of all things. I was able to do all the lunges, so I was really happy. A couple were slow, but I never stopped. I don't have problems with the cardio portions, save for the fact I live on the 2nd floor…

Well, if by 'highest' you mean the incline...MFP doesn't account for incline. Higher incline = more calories. Addendum: I realized you probably meant you didn't go over 3mph, so disregard this, ha ha.

I work in a veterinary diagnostic pathology lab! How funny! :) I love all things anatomy/physiology.

It IS a privilege. Some people are born not being able to have the gift to even walk, much less jog, run, or lift weights safely. Or, like me, some people could be placed in a situation where that privilege could be taken away when you never thought it could. It was a real wake up call!

I added a picture of my foot now at the bottom of the post, to show why it's pretty crazy I run... :)

I love my PB2! I always add some to my protein shakes (either choc or regular). It's delicious. I like how you can make it as thin (for dipping) or thick (for spreading) as you want. Sandwiches, shakes/smoothies, pancakes or anything with batter, etc.

Y'all only say this because you haven't had to lug huge tatas around and develop lower back issues :P

I lost 25 pounds last semester, and barely went from a DD to a D. I've lost 8 pounds this semester....they're the same size. They've always been bigger even when I was just a size 6 though, so I may have no hope :( too bad I can't give half of mine to someone who lost too much LOL
