Started keto on Sunday
Hey all! I just started keto and am looking for keto friends. I've been paleo/primal for about a year or so and am hoping this will be the extra push to lose more fat. :)

TDEE question concerning activity levels
So, I work out often enough. As an example, my HRM says this was my weeks totals: 5:45:35 (hr/min/sec), 5 sessions, 2669 calories. This was a mixture of weights, elliptical, pushups, lunges, squats, etc each day. This is not including today's workout which I'll be doing in a bit (a short 30min, though). For the next few…

Needs some paleo/primal friends :)
Hey everyone. I'm not foreign to MFP, but took a hiatus this past Fall because I'm a senior at Texas A&M and my semester was slammed. I'm surprised I had time to breathe, haha. I've jumped head first back into my old/good routine, but due to my absence from MFP for ~3 months, a lot of my friends on here deleted me :/ Just…

My Body Gallery
I don't know if this has ever been posted before, but I find it motivating and helpful. It's a site dedicated to pictures of real women. Women volunteer photos, and they're categorized by height, weight, shirt/pant size, body-type, etc. So, I could search for pictures of women that are 5'5", 145-160 (my goal is somewhere…

Side Collage (long way to go!)
So, I took pictures in October '11, Feb. '12 and today. There's about a 24 pound difference between October and today... but I feel like I can't SEE a difference? I know clothes fit better/smaller sizes but looking at these I've been really discouraged. I know I'm being way self critical :/ Can anyone tell?

Not full success yet, but ~35lbs down... (pics)
So, I think I'm only posting this for two reasons. 1. I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY TO SEE "1" AS THE FIRST NUMBER OF MY WEIGHT! I hit 198 this past week. (high of 238 previously). 2. I'm procrastinating from continuing to study for my anatomy/physiology lab practical in the morning. But really...I didn't notice there was a…

Did you do all the reps every time? (30DS)
So, I'm doing the 30DS, and was curious if people who got noticeable results also did all the reps/never stopped of all the strength exercises. Just in level one right now. I can do about 20 or so pushups in a row (modified...I have screws in my foot so I can't do normal pushups because of the pressure/angle on my foot),…

Glad I upped my calories!
It's been roughly 4 weeks since I started taking this seriously again. The first two weeks my caloric intake, via MFP, was set at 1240 or 1280 or something like that. I lost about 2 pounds, but I just felt like I wasn't eating enough. So, I posted in the fitness/nutrition forum for some advice and everyone agreed I should…

I learned to live three years ago.
Three years ago today, I was in a life-altering car accident. I severely broke my right foot and lower leg, I couldn't walk for at least half a year and I couldn't do any form of hard/impact physical activity until last year really. I wasn't wearing a seat-belt (yes, yes, I know...), and I rear-ended a truck that was…

I may be over-doing it here soon...
Well, on top of doing what I've been doing (HIIT 3x/wk, strength training in between, 30DS), my friend has roped me into a one month boot camp because hey, it's a $179 program going for $39 today only. I'm going to die. Should I think about upping my calories when boot camp starts next week, or leave it at 1570?

Thoughts on food combining? Because I just got chewed out.
So, I worked out tonight and made a spinach/protein powder/banana/unsweetened almond milk smoothie/shake to get some protein in. I took a picture of it (pre-blending) in the blender and posted it to facebook because I thought it looked neat. My friend's mom starts commenting ... over and over. Not sure why she couldn't put…

Professors with humor = <3
Just thought I'd share, because it made me laugh in the middle of the exam. I just took an exam on health education about 20 minutes ago. One of the questions was: "What does it mean to be culturally competent?" An answer choice: "to be able to make yogurt." Bahaha. I love when professors have a sense of humor, even if…

NSV of the day led to near embarrassment of the day...
So, I work in a lab on the Texas A&M campus. Everyone knows parking on any college campus can be more confusing than the class you're trying to get to. No exception here. Because of this, the lot I have to park in is about an 8 minute brisk walk (yay) to the building I work in. No biggie. On MWF, though, I get out of work…

Am I eating enough?
I'm 5'5 1/2" (large frame/bone structure), and 205. I currently have MFP set to normal lifestyle, working out 5 days/wk for at least 30min, and -2lb a week loss. MFP suggests my caloric intake to be 1,320. I lost about 13 pounds when I kept up with this Aug-october of '11, then some personal things happened and I took a…

A week later
A week post-hardcore-breakup and I'm down over 6 pounds. I've eaten maybe 5 times in the last week. Ate nothing until Friday night. Twice Saturday. Once sunday and once yesterday. I'm hardpressed to believe any day was even over 500 calories. I want to eat but I can't. The thought makes me sick. I wish I could find a way…

Needing major support
Tuesday night my boyfriend broke up with me. I know it happens and everyone says "I know how you feel," but it's so much more. He wasn't just that. He was my best friend. My soul-mate when I originally didn't believe in such thing. We were supposed to get married. We talked about it all. We had that relationship where all…

First mini-goal... achieved!
I was around 238 at the beginning of 2009. When I started MFP at the end of August, I was 220. I set a personal minigoal of 205 because I'm pretty sure I weighed that or actually a little HIGHER, when I started college in 2007. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw that number... ...until today! :D It's so nice to…

Reasonable deadline?
I have a personal deadline to get to my goal weight by my next birthday. My goal weight is 160, and I have a feeling I'll be wanting to re-evaluate that as I get closer to it. Most-likely lowering it to 145, if possible. It's 160 right now because that's when I feel I looked my best in high-school (a nice size 8). My…

HRM...what are some good ones?
I really want to get a heart rate monitor, but don't know where to go or what is good in terms of them. In my spinning class at the campus gym, we're provided Polar chest-strapped monitors, and those are the only kind I've used... what other ones are good?

Not sure what to set activity level at?
I currently have mine set at Lightly Active. I'm a full-time student and work part-time just 12-15 hours a week. When I work, I'm sitting down for about 85% of it (I work in a pathology lab). When I'm on campus, I walk...a lot. My campus (Texas A&M) is one of the largest in the country, and can take sometimes 20 minutes to…

Mini-YAY moment
So, I started/finished the C25K in the spring, and ran 2 5K's in late Spring/early summer. Then summer hit and I was busy being maid-of-honor in a wedding...CRAZY, haha. So...no real dieting or working out for about 2.5 months. The other month I have no excuse for... >.> I started back on this journey the week before…

New to the site! [ not the app :) ]
Hi! My name is Devon, and I'm a 22yo senior Allied Health major at Texas A&M. ^I end up always introducing myself that way...It's how students first interact on campus, haha. I've been using the app (off-and-on) since Spring of this year, and didn't even pay attention to the fact that it had a website. Oops! I'm down about…
