  • The liver is an incredible organ, after all! *kitten*, it can take it!
  • Not a beer, no, because beer is generally made from ingredients that don't contain Formaldehyde. Which, is what aspartame turns into when introduced to your body. Guess Formaldehyde might not be so bad in there once or twice, ya? I see your point. That diet coke is fine. I guess high cholestoral's okay too now and then.…
  • What value? Sodium and protein? Did you know that McDonald's beef cannot legally be called beef because it's mostly pink slime? What kind of nutritional value does pink slime have? I'd actually be interested to know. The fish sandwich is 18% cholestoral because it's Pollock, which has nearly nothing nutritional except for…
  • Just because eating fast food "in moderation" doesn't make you look fat, doesn't mean it isn't wreaking havoc on the "incredible human digestive system." Plenty of people who look fit and in shape have heart attacks and organ failure without warning because they workout double time and eat like dog *kitten*.
  • Siiiigh. Sometimes it is really hard to remain objective on these threads. The bottom line is this: McDonald's food and food from restaurants like it are what got a lot of the people on MFP to 100+ pounds overweight. What you are getting in that sandwich has zero nutritional value and is as good as eating paper or plastic…
  • Squats!! And if you're trying to get em to show under the "film of fat" you gotta eat clean and do cardio. No diet, no abs! (Not sure if this is a prob for you so it's not directed at ya. Just sayin'. :) )
  • I also have the misfortune of having different "types" of PMS. Sometimes I'm a bottomless pit, sometimes I'm super emotional, right now it's the ultra-tired one. I haven't been to the gym this week yet because getting out of bed in the morning is like conquering Everest to me. Ugh. Sometimes it really sucks to be a woman.
  • Throw it in the pantry and let it sit for a month. Take it out, it'll be as fresh as the day it went in! :D If you are what you eat, you should live to be at least 100 years old!
  • I'm a food psycho when I'm about to start. There's no controlling it. If there's anything edible in the house, it's not safe. o_O
  • Are you taking iron supplements? If you went veggie and are not eating fish or eggs either, you have to really watch you iron intake and make sure it is sufficient. Anemia can DEFINITELY cause the problems you're having, and it sounds like it's escalating. Add iron supplements, spinach and other veggies high in iron to…
  • You need both! Although for a long long time I only did cardio and was still in great shape. Strength training is a major plus. Have a day for each of the body areas i.e. Upper, lower, and core, starting with about 15 min of cardio and then lifting, and then have a day just for cardio if you want. I dunno. Everyone finds a…
  • I'd say, mention it in front of her that you have a load of clothes you gotta drop off at the donation station. If she asks to look through them first then there ya go! And if she doesn't take notice, go forth with said donation. I would suggest not asking her if she wants to see them though. She will speak up if she is…
  • Diet soda is even worse. The aspartame in it is highly toxic to the human body and is also extremely addictive. Google that and check it out. You'd be better off drinking the real deal.
  • Hell yes it does. It also helps with gas, water retention, osteoporosis prevention, skin condition, tooth condition, everything. It is absolutely worth it to give that *kitten* up TODAY.
  • On the flip side though, 1200-1400 is a little low. Do you know what your BMR is? You can calculate it with the BMR calculator in the APPS tap ^up there. You gotta eat at least that every day if you wanna lose weight. Otherwise you'll just store because your body needs more food.
  • No you don't! If you feel ridiculously hungry then it's a good idea but if your normal cal range fills you up, you don't need to worry about this.
  • What is your diet heavy in? Do you eat a lot of grains or fatty foods like oils or avacado? Need more input. :)
  • What's your daily calorie intake?
  • I'm a vegetarian and outside a little gas at the start, this is never a problem for me except for when someone accidentally sneaks gluten into my system. My stomach bloats out and uh... bad things happen to my intestines. :/
  • Protein bars and a lot of health shakes will gas you up or are often times loaded with sodium which makes you retain water. Watch your salt intake and add bay leaf to your beans when you cook them, as this will alleviate your gas. If you are eating a lot of grains and this is more than just a bloat but is a SUPER bloat,…
  • I have herbs growing in my window. :) Cinnamon basil, fresh peppermint, edible Province Lavender and sweet basil. It smells great and it's soooo easy to care for! I love it.
  • Music. Always music. And it's usually fast-paced Industrial Metal or Electronic.
  • If I'm hungry, the only thing that will satiate my cravings is the food I'm craving. If I'm not, some hot delicious tea or a banana usually do the trick. :)
  • I run.
  • I disagree with the "can't means won't" philosophy. I usually have a serious problem controlling portions if I am REALLY hungry when I start eating or if I'm on a day off with nothing to do. Part of this, for me, is having a mental disorder (ADHD,) but for others it could just be boredom or old habits. I find that having a…
  • This is only my personal experience I'm speaking from and not research or science or anything, but I had this EXACT problem for a year straight, and then I gave up meat except for eggs and fish and I haven't had a single problem since. Not one. I still get hungry of course, but I am no longer a chain-snacking bottomless…
  • Outside the OCD and Phobia, you just described a gluten allergy/intolerance. Which, I have both of. o_O
  • I'm in pretty good shape and you know what? I don't hate on ANYONE I see at the gym, no matter how far they have to go on their loss/build journey. Because whether they're just walking at first, reading a book on the bicycle or power lifting their faces off, they MADE IT. I actually have mad respect for overweight people I…
  • There's a book by Marci Shimoff called "Love for No Reason" that addresses this exact issue. Maybe it'd be worth a read. :) They have it cheap on Amazon. You gotta tell yourself you can do this and then give yourself permission to make the time. Your boyfriend will completely understand if he's a good guy, and you can…
  • How good is YOUR skin going to look when you're old? You'll be OLD. You won't care anymore than any other old person cares right now. And FYI, I know some 75 year old Navy Vets who's Tats are barely recognizable and they look AWESOME.
