Hey all. I'm tying the knot September 12, 2015 and hoping to make them take that dress in beforehand. Anyone on here can feel free to add me.

Hello All! I'm looking to loose a little weight before my wedding next year! (it's cliché, I know). I've actually been wanting to do this for a while so hopefully getting in front of everyone in that white dress is the motivation I need. I'm 23 and currently live in Chicago. Would love more connections!

I'd like to join!! My first workout was Monday. I feel like everything is pretty straight forward. Did anyone else feel absolutely ridiculous doing the prone jackknife? :ohwell: Also, I would be interested to know what weights everyone is starting out with. I'm not trying to start a competition, I'm just curious because I…

I just ran my first half marathon a few weeks ago and I'm now thinking about running the Chicago Marathon in October. If you had suggested running a marathon to me even just 2 years ago I would have laughed in your face. I have been using this training schedule:…

Agree with everyone above who said that you need to be sure you are not eating more than you think you are. It's SO easy to lose track of calories and eat back everything you burned at the gym, especially since the extra activity is likely making you hungrier than you were before. I also recommend opening your diary up for…

Thanks everybody! Lots of great advice. I am actually using the Hal Higdon program which allows for a couple weeks were you ease back but not right before the race. I will definitely be running the week before, just wanted to make sure I wasn't throwing a wrench in the works. :)

Bah! Thanks for all the input guys! I like the idea of splitting drinks up with water, I might also try it with snacks. :) I do sometimes get overwhelmed trying to log what I eat on weekend because, unlike during the week, I don't plan it out as much and it takes so long to look things up. But I guess that's the hurdle I…

I'm not sure that this post really belongs on this forum but I think it is an important topic. I think that one of the biggest issues we need to address are the messages we send children about food. No more soda machines, candy machines, in schools. My high school's lunch menu was curly fries, pizza, noodle cup, pop tarts.…

If you can't count on the daily expenditure from your job, then I would not factor it in on a daily level and just try to find the best exercise equivalent on days when you are hauling *kitten*. That way you always know what you did and you can adjust according to how busy you were and how many nights a week you work. If…

I honestly did not have the time to read through every comment to see if someone else said this. But if it hasn't already been suggested, you might try intermittent fasting. It requires no changes to the amount of calories that you consume but does require that you eat them at specific times during the day to maximize the…

Ok. Food is not nearly as addictive as the substances that would cause the level of withdrawal that you are describing. But food addiction (also referred to as compulsive eating) is a cataloged psychological disorder that can be traced to the chemical reactions certain foods cause in people's brains. I agree that the word…

I'm also big on salads for lunch. I throw my "kits" together on Sundays and each is one portioned out and ready to go for the week. I literally just through whatever I want on my salads for the week in little zip lock bags. They consist of things like cherry tomatoes, feta, chicken, sliced lunch meat or boiled egg, mini…

Hello all. I have been running for a couple of years now, slowly building up my distance. Now I'm training for my first half marathon in Feb. Feel free to add me. :)
