I was planning on cooking up some flank steak this weekend, for the method above, do you guys use a nonstick or a cast iron? I'm assuming you would be using a nonstick since you are using oil. Also, what type of oil are you using? And one last question, does your kitchen smoke at all with this method? Thanks!!

I second that!! It's great to see actual pictures of people on here in the same boat. It certainly keeps us motivated!!! Awesome job!

I'm a success story when it comes to letting go of my creamer! I have 3-8oz. cups of coffee each morning and was using around 3Tbsp of Fat Free French Vanilla Creamer for each cup. I took a chance one day and instead of the creamer I heated up 1/2 cup of Unsweetened Almond Milk, then added my coffee and 1 tsp of pure cane…

I drink coffee in the mornings, but love a cup of afternoon tea! My favorites are the Lipton Black Pearl Tea Bags, with one packet of Truvia and a fresh lemon wedge. My other favorite if I'm in the mood for Green Tea is the Lipton Pure Green Tea Bags, with a lemon wedge. Perfection! I've tried the flavored teas, but just…

Same here, the family is having Chipotle for dinner. Looking forward to it!

A wonderful way to determine your BMR is via the BMR calculator on the Fat 2 Fit website (http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/). Give it a look in addition to the rest of their calculators and it will definitely help you figure out where you need to be.

Beautifully put, I second her comments!!

This podcast gives a wonderful explanation as to why we "should not" eat our exercise calories back. http://www.fat2fitradio.com/2012/03/fat-2-fit-141-eating-your-exercise-calories/ The discussion starts at minute 10:20 if you want to skip the first part. Give it a listen, certainly helped me to understand why I won't be…

Just made my 2 little sprouts for lunch and OH MY GOSH, they were delicious!!! Sauteed with a bit of olive oil and minced garlic, with a dash of salt and pepper. I'm a fan!!!

I made this for the first time last night, and OMG, it was GREAT!!! 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 2 tsp Balsamic Vinegar 2 tsp Dijon Mustard Dash of parsley, oregeno and pepper It was enough for both my husband and myself, and sooooo good!!

Jillian Michael's workouts are really hard on the knees. If you find something is causing you pain, just switch out with a different exercise. For example, doing lunges can cause me knee joint pain, so I just switch out with different types of squats instead. JM doesn't give great advice on form, so just be careful with…

You guys are the best!!! I picked up 2 from the store yesterday, looking forward to trying them out!
-
Ohhh, that does sound good!!
-
Hmmm, I might get a couple from the store tomorrow and give them a try. My arsenal of vegetables is getting very boring and I'm ready to try something new. I do like cabbage, but raw, so I guess the only way to know is to try it!!

I'm 41 and can sit and watch hours of Spongebob!!! That show is just so goofy you can't help but laugh!

Back in 2011, I lost 30lbs and plateaued at 142'ish. I've been able to maintain the weight up until the first of March 2013 when I noticed I had gained 5lbs. I joined MFP on March 6 and dropped 4lbs in 6 days. And I've been stuck at 143 for the past 9 days. I don't know what it is about me and that number, but I just can't…

She might even be interested in Leslie Sansome's walking DVD's. I know some are available on YouTube.

Kellogg's All Bran Wheat Flakes, it's the only cereal other than oatmeal that I will eat!!!
-
Amen to that! Not only do I want to lose a few extra pounds, but as I've entered my 40's the energy level plummets if I don't get continuous exercise. It's amazing what clean eating and half an hour of exercise does for the body!!

skinnytaste.com, skinnymom.com, skinnyms.com, http://pointlessmeals.blogspot.com/ Skinnytaste is by far my favoritet!

Wow, I bought the Kashi 7 grain flakes last week and my husband complained of stomach pains. I mixed 1/2 cup of the Kashi last night with a 1/2 cup of my All Bran flakes last night, and my stomach also hurt. I'm going to stick with my All Bran!!

Maybe some chicken breast or broiled fish and a few stems of broccoli? Or even a bowl of cereal with some almond milk. Like the others say, keep it light but healthy and make up for it over the next couple of days.
-
For me it was a mixture of walking/running an hour a day, 4-5 days a week along with clean eating. I lost 30lbs. in 7 months. Granted, I built some great leg muscles in the process, but I never went to a gym to lift weights other than the occasional workout in my living room with a Jillian Michaels DVD.

I use her videos all the time, and just count it all as "walking brisk". She states on her website that each mile burns approximately 100 calories.
-
I second this, cardio, cardio, cardio!!! We all have ab muscles, we just have to burn the fat off first to be able to see them. Continue to do your ab exercises, including those planks, and add in the cardio, eat good and drink your water. Stick to it, you will see results!

If you need family friendly recipes that are generally clean eating and the family will LOVE, you have to check out the www.skinnytaste.com website. I sing Gina's praises and have printed off so many of her yummy dishes, I wouldn't be able to count them all. She cooks using smart foods most people have in their pantry's,…

Hi Katelyn, When I was at my heaviest back in May 2011 (169lbs), I started walking, and by the end of the year I had dropped 30lbs. I started out on flat plains going a couple of miles per walk, roughly 4 days a week. I then really started to see the weight coming off and challenged myself to walk further, working up to…

Only Brooks Glycerine's for me!!!

Ha!! I was just thinking about posting the very same question!! Only instead of my TOM, it's a killer headache I've had since 8AM today. With headaches like this I only want to eat potato chips ALL DAY!!!!! I've managed to stay away for the most part, but the "healthy" food just doesn't sound appetizing today and I surely…

I cook using her recipes nearly every night!! They are delicious and full of flavor.
