I just started my hormone therapy this week. Have let a few lbs. creep up on me. My biggest challenge at the moment is that all of my normal recipes just don't sound appetizing anymore. Trying to wrap my head around the hormonal changes, but I know it's because or menopause. I love to eat, just nothing sounds good anymore!

I've been maintaining for for about 4-5 years now, I'm happy with my weight as long as I don't let it get out of control. I did manage to fix myself a tuna wrap for lunch today. I think just talking it out on here has helped some. I'm experiencing these ridiculous changes and will most definitely scour the boards for…

As we have all exchanged thoughts this morning, I do believe this is related to menopause. I just started my hormone therapy this week, so fingers crossed the lack of wanting to fix my normal recipes will diminish over time. Boy do I hope so! It's not that I just want sugary foods only, I just don't want to cook my normal…

Interesting question. I do take a quarter of a Trazadone along with Melatonin, but have been having hot flashes at night that wake me up. I feel like I'm baking at 500 degrees! So even though I sleep hard, I have been waking up numerous times to kick my leg from underneath the covers until I cool back down.

So the things I'm craving are definitely dessert type foods (cake, pies, cookies, brownies, etc.). I'm reaching my hand in the bag of lay's almost daily or grabbing a fun size Hershey bar. For my main meals I would prefer a homemade hamburger with potato wedges over a piece of chicken (but who wouldn't!). For dinners, I…

You are 100% correct, nothing but fat and sugar that I'm craving. That's a dangerous road to be headed down!

"the good thing is, you don't need to eat 'healthy' to lose weight, you just need to eat in a calorie deficit. Short term, start with that? Also, have you cut carbs significantly? you don't need to cut carbs to lose weight." I wish I had cut carbs, but that is my sweet spot at the moment. I could eat oatmeal for breakfast…

Back in 2014 I was my heaviest at 169lbs, I've managed to maintain around 135 for a number of years now. I have always made good meals but I will make cakes, pies, cookies, etc. I have that mentality of everything in moderation, so I eat what I want. My problem, is that I love a glass (or two) of wine at night and my…

I'm trying myself to cut back on the wine at night. It's hard, but have to see myself through it. Keep it up!

Thanks to you both for the feedback. Chances are I won't stop the medication. I wanted to seek out others that had tried to get off their meds and see what the results were, but if getting off has a higher chance of pain and inflammation coming back, it just makes more sense to stay on. I just hate the havoc it creates on…

I have eaten pumpkin in my oatmeal everyday for the past 3-4 years. I stay within my calories most days, so it hasn't affected my weight at all.

Weight Watchers has a box of bite size dark chocolates for only 120 calories per pouch. Each pouch has 4 pieces of chocolate, but it's super rich. Will cure any chocolate craving! Oh, and there are no sugars included on the nutrition label. Bonus!

All great tips. Yup, I'll back off of worrying about it but try to replace some of that frozen friendly garbage with better options. Just need to get creative!

I just asked this same question on my news feed about losing motivation. I haven't wanted to do any exercise for the past couple of weeks, and just can't seem to find the desire to do anything active. I was chalking it up to the change in weather, glad to know we can all commiserate together! I'll just continue to eat good…

I use 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 1 tsp of pure cane sugar. 2 cups a day and I'm good to go. I used to use Coffee Mate up until about 3 months ago, and I will never look back!

I almost forgot to mention, make sure you pick up Reduced Sodium beans, I use the Goya brand as they have some of the better overall stats. And make sure you get beans that don't have onions listed in the ingredients! Just beans, water and salt. I just put a batch of these in the oven not 1 minute ago! I might rather eat…

For a quicker version of these without the oil rinse a can of black beans, but them back in the can and fill to the top with water. Puree the beans and water until there are no lumps and mix with a box of brownie mix... No eggs, no oil, no additional water and they come out really good... ^^^^^THIS^^^^^ They are excellent…

I only drink water with the True Lime Black Cherry Limeade packets. Like others have said, once you get started on something else, you'll forget all about soda! Also, if you need the caffeine, have an unsweetened tea with a Truvia packet and/or lemon.

I had a McDonald's hamburger and Medium fries just last night and it was sooooo dang good!!!!

When I joined MFP back in March, I did 1200 calories for about a month and dropped 5lbs, increased the calories in April to 1400 and dropped 1lb. I just increased them to 1700 yesterday but will be doing a gradual increase to hit that goal. I've been stuck at the same number for exactly a month, so I'm going to give it a…

I got some stellar advice today!! I have recalculated my BMR/TDEE numbers and believe it or not, I'm going to eat MORE! I've been eating way under my TDEE, more than I realized, so I'm changing up the program, eating more and telling my metabolism that I'm ready to move past this stinking 141.4, finally! When you have some…

I needed to read this! I'm down 30lbs and only have 6 left to reach goal. I haven't dropped a pound on the scale in a month, but I have definitely toned up and know that the inches are coming off. I work out roughly 4 days a week with the Fitness Blender videos, and have been eating at 1400 calories for about the past…

After reading each and every reply on this post, I've decided to up my calories. I've been stuck at 141.4 for exactly 1 month, and only have 6lbs. left to reach goal. I've been eating at 1400 calories for a little over a month, not eating back exercise calories. I have definitely built muscle and definition over the past…

Although many pre-packaged foods may boast lower calories, they are full of sodium and contain ingredients that you can't even pronounce. Higher sodium counts can certainly derail weight loss efforts. Visit skinnytaste.com, she uses REAL foods that you can make over the weekend and take as leftovers during the week.

I know that for On the Border, and Taco Bell, a crunchy taco generally has less calories than other foods. Just skip the cheese and sour cream and have them add pico to cut down on the calories.

There are too many to name, but a couple of my favorite recipe sites are skinnytaste.com and thegirlwhoateeverything.com. They are real food that the entire family enjoys. Good luck!

My mom is 63 years old and has taught body pump classes for as long as I can remember. They are a blast, get up and go to one!!!
