  • The drops are bogus. Read the measurements on the bottle and do a search for what they mean. It means there is no hCG in the drops. They are useless. I actually found out that the measurements mean that it is a spirit-like healing force (creepy!) that is at work instead of hCG.
  • Without a doubt, the hCG diet. I developed so many health problems from which I had to heal and since stopping the diet, I've been prone to kidney infections.
  • I shared my story with this diet here: http://carikay11.hubpages.com/hub/unsafe_hcg_diet You can read up on the measurements listed on the bottle too. I had to really dig to find out how much hCG was in the bottle and learned that there is no hCG. When you have numbers like 24x and 60x on the bottle, it's a spiritual…
  • I made the mistake of doing the hCG diet (homeopathic drops with no real hCG). It was a 500-calorie diet and it caused so many serious problems for me. More than a year and a half later and I'm wondering if the kidney infections I've had since are related since I wasn't prone since. When I ended up under a doctor's care…
  • Very nice. I suffer with meanpersonitis. Had you only posted this before I had all my terrible side effects from the hCG diet, I would have known, it's all good LOL
  • It is such a dangerous fad diet and left me with numerous health issues. More than a year later, I wonder if the multiple kidney infections I've had since are related. My doctor said this diet is known for harming the kidneys and other organs. It's a starvation diet. If the drops contain a measurement like 3x, 6x, 12x,…

  • Dr. Oz is a bit of a quack isn't he? I think the first time I remember hearing about him was while I was doing the Omnitrition thing. The people dealing this stuff were saying he was a fan and that sort of thing. Now, I hear his name attached to all sorts of fad diets. What sort of doctor is he? Doesn't seem like he's a…
  • Please, have them check your ferritin and iron. I did the Omni drops too and had just had them checked when I started the hCG thing. Within a month, I had no ferritin left and they rushed me in for iron infusions. I know that drops that suddenly can cause all sort of damage including hair loss, nail problems, not to…
  • Yes, my weight started coming back after a bit and then I couldn't stop gaining. My doctor was even working with me to stop it. Eventually we realized that my metabolism was just so messed up from this starvation diet and I needed to just eat healthy and let it come back. Once it evened off (at a greater weight than when I…

  • This diet is so not worth it. I've shared my story here but it really created some serious health problems. I've talked to so many people since then who message or email me. It's frustrating because for a number of us, this caused serious problems. For others, they lost the weight but even while following 'protocol', over…

  • Question, I did this a little bit with the YouTube videos last year but want to start it again. Do you see a difference in your abs with this! Thanks!
  • You can read my story: http://www.squidoo.com/unsafe_hcg_diet If you are even tempted to do the hCG diet, I can't stress enough to go see your doctor first. I was sort of in a good position to see what this diet did to me. I had just seen my doctor and had blood work when I started this so it was really apparent after a…

  • That's the kicker. On a 500-calorie diet, you'll lose weight. No doubt about that but so many people have to do round after round after round. I really believe that is what keeps these companies in business. The drops don't contain any hCG. It's a placebo. Seems like most people, when they finally get off the hCG…

  • Send it back in and get your money back. This diet landed me on heart monitors and under a physician's care for some time. To add insult to injury, the weight all came back even though I was still eating a low amount of calories and it changed my body shape. Once I got back to my original size, those clothes that I wore…
  • In which case, the hCG diet would not be needed. Had I just started Weight Watchers at the time I started the hCG diet, I would have been at my goal weght by now and saved a fortune on all the medical bills I had as a result of the diet (not to mention all the time I lost as a result of this causing so many health…
  • Earlier this year, I lost 15 lbs in a month using Omni Drops. However, I had to stop because this affected my heart and caused so many side effects (that came on suddenly). Even while eating less than my basil metabolic rate (the rate at which you should burn calories if you were just a couch potato all day), all the…

  • Don't do another round. It will just mess you up even more. I hate what this diet does. It just changes your body and not in a good way. Hang in there!
  • I can so relate to what you are saying. I did the Omnitrition version of the hCG diet for one month. When I had to stop due to side effects, I couldn't stop gaining even while eating below my BMR. Basically I had just really messed up my metabolism. The doctor didn't want me eating lower than my BMR because my heart was…
  • I noticed that the Omnitrition crowd was rather cultlike and I think that may be true for hCG users in general. There is a certain mindset (us against the world) that goes with it. You can't do this diet without people sincerely concerned about your health and safety so they are constantly steeling themselves agains that.…
  • FBMandy, I was conned into the Omnitrition version and they are now pushing the raspberry ketones too! I suspect places are doing this because their hCG days are numbered. What happened was that in 2011, the FDA went after all the over-the-counter companies. Omnitrition jumped into the hCG game around that same time and…
  • I have been sharing that story too. People need to know this. I've shared my story on this diet: http://www.squidoo.com/unsafe_hcg_diet It's bad news. Because of my page and posts, women have been emailing me with their own hCG horror stories. I am a firm believer now that this diet is potentially very dangerous as I found…
  • Just wanted to share. After my own hCG diet fiasco that causes so many health problems plus all the weight (plus some) to come back while eating healthy, I've started Weight Watchers. I was getting messages from other people who had terrible experiences with the hCG diet and seemed like more than a few had gone to WWs to…
  • Just read about the Bulletproof thing the other day in the paper. Not sure about the coffee and butter thing! Now that my metabolism is not as slow from the hCG diet, I'm watching what I'm eating and starting to exercise. I really think the exercise is what is helping my metabolism the most. The hCG diet was definitely one…
  • On hCG boards, though, there is such a serious distrust of doctors. They tell you that doctors get paid to keep you fat and on pharmaceuticals. While I was having side effects, I was discouraged from seeing a doctor by others on the diet (selling the diet). They just wanted me to buy more of their hokey dangerous vitamin…
  • Yes, I did the hCG diet earlier this year. It messed my body up so much and I ended up, even with insurance, spending about $1,000 in medical costs to heal. I did Omnitrition and I'm told that it really is just a litle tiny bottle of water with no real hCG. It's the 500-calorie diet that can mess you up. Since sharing my…

  • You may happily lump me in with the hCG-hating crowd. I developed heart problems (and lots of other side effects) from this dangerous diet. After I went off the diet, I ate under my basil metabolic rate and was gaining it back pretty quickly. That is a huge red flag that this diet majorly screwed up my body. Before this…
  • I agree. When I was first healing from this, I thought it would be safer with a doctor too but people are sharing their stories with me and they are not being monitred closely and are having just as many side effects. One common thread amoung those doing the oral drops and those doing the injections is that almost every…
  • I am talking to so many people who have gained back more after their hCG experiences and are really struggling to lose now. I have only met one person in real life (friend of a friend) who has kept it off but she started training for half marathons to do it and, I strongly suspect, she does a lot of steak days and…
  • And, yes, I agree, this would be a great thread to sticky here!
  • Love all these new replies. Let's get the word out there. THE hCG DIET IS BAD NEWS! So, as I've shared, I was lured into the diet and it affected my heart and caused a great amount of problems. I recently finished three months worth of doctor's appointments (about $1,000 of my money AFTER insurance) to get better and…
