I haven't thrown up and, like some of the others, have only had mild nausea. I only feel icky if I eat too much at one time or if I go too long without eating (this was especially true in the first trimester; and by too long I mean 2-3 hours). I can relate to the boob thing though--WOW mine killed...but even that went away…

I had some spotting early on too, so I know how scary that can be. The best thing to do it rest and stay de-stressed (as much as you can). Everything you're experiencing sounds a lot like where I was at 6-7 weeks--I had VERY sore breasts and I couldn't sleep worth a darn, and I'm normally a very sound sleeper. I had a…

There's a few fixes I use if I find my produce is going bad before I use it. I like to stock up on things like unsweetened apple sauce or dried natural fruit (cranberries, raisins, apricots, mangos, banana chips, etc). Frozen fruit is also a good idea and you can throw a bunch into a blender with some juice or milk for a…

Thanks for the chuckle. I teach a class in Recruitment and Selection so I will be sure to use this as a "what not to do" example in class

The previous posters are correct; it's bad for your heart and it makes your body hold on to water which means you'll weigh more. Packaged food and restaurant meals are usually the worst sodium offenders. I read an article recently that said a very small percentage of the sodium we consume comes from the salt we personally…

I really liked The Biggest Loser Club online when I used it a couple years ago. I needed a dummy proof plan where someone said "eat this at this time". Previously when I tried to count calories or "points" I would blow my daily allowance on empty calories or spread my allowance on only one or two meals which led to me…

mwilson1018--I can relate. My PP weight was 160. At around 10 weeks I was up 4 lbs, then I lost 3lbs (not on purpose), then I gained half a lb...My current weight is 161.5--so I'm only up 1.5 lbs at 17 and a half weeks. Admittedly, I have VERY mixed feelings about it. I'm secretly relieved that I haven't gained much but I…

I too have been plagued with the dreaded pregnancy headaches! :explode: I concur with the previous posters who advocated the Neti pot  My sinuses are beyond congested--they've been blocked for weeks! But according to the books and sites I've consulted, swollen nasal passages are just another unfortunate side…

I was having restless legs a few weeks ago too! I have no idea what caused it to start or why it went away recently but it drove me crazy! I had the most terrible sleep for several weeks and normally I sleep like a log! Do you have any idea what brings it on or what you can do to make it stop? I'm hoping it won't…

Congratulations to all the new and expecting moms! I love reading all of the great stories, advice, and support from all of you ladies. I just wanted to throw my two cents in about the 3D and 4D ultrasounds. I've known a number of women who have done them but I've also heard several people express concerns about their…

One of my primary motivations for losing weight was to be healthy during pregnancy and after. I've kept off 54 lbs for two years and am now pregnant with my first child. So far my pregnancy weight gain is falling within the "normal" range for someone my size (I am still technically overweight) and my overall health is…

Fredericks of Hollywood is a good option. They carry up to an F cup (which is is generally the same as a DDD) and they are quite reasonably priced. I'm a 34F and I particularly like the Va-Va-Voom Satin Full Cup Bra--I bought one in every colour! It's pretty, supportive, and inexpensive, which is an unheard of combination…

I would personally reccommend talking to your doctor. I have been living with rheumatoid arthritis since I was 5 years old and always used knee pain as an excuse to not run. For many people running may do more harm than good, however it depends on the individual. My doctor said that for me the benefits of running FAR…

I have learned to really listen to my body--something I have only been able to do since I got healthy. When I didn't eat properly I probably just felt lousy all the time. There are three things that I can actually feel when they're out of whack. For me, I feel the best when I carefully watch my calories, fibre, and sodium.…

The machines at the gym are notoriously inaccurate. Personally, I'd go with the MFP numbers--I've double checked my own workouts with several other sources and MFP seems to be pretty accurate.

SO TRUE! I have to look at pictures side by side to see a difference in myself. Even just flipping through old pictures doesn't do it for me, I don't see much of a difference. I think it's a great idea to take pictures along the way to see how far you've come. I wish I had taken more pictures along the way. I don't know…

You look amazing! I hope you feel as great as you look  Keep up the terrific work! You're very inspiring

YOU'RE MY HERO! Before joining MFP I hit the original goal I set for myself, but recently I decided I want to get down to the "healthy" range. It's been so discouraging every week logging on and seeing "0 lbs lost" when I know I've lost 50+. That might sound silly to some but the "54 lbs lost" in my ticker feels…

At the risk of being redundant I'll add to the pile of support. In order to be a great mom you must take care of yourself first. That's why on an airplane they always say "in case of an emergency put on your own oxygen mask before trying to assist others." If you you're not taken care of you can't take care of anyone else.…

You're very welcome  It's the easiest thing on the planet to cook, even quicker and easier than rice. I had never made it until I joined the Biggest Loser club a couple years ago. I hope you like it! The package will give you the directions and amounts, but basically you boil water, throw in the couscous, stir,…

If you're a salsa lover you may like this recipe I discovered a while back. It's filling and delicious and soooooo easy to make. * 1/2 c prepared whole wheat couscous -(the brand I use is Casbah organic whole wheat--if you make a single serving it will be good for two meals) * 1/3 c salsa * 1/2c black beans -- I use…

That's what has worked for me. I have to take my vitamin AFTER I have a full stomach otherwise I get super nauseous! I think you have to try a few and find one that works for you. For me, the generic/drugstore brand of women's one-a-day is the best I've had for avoiding nausea. I've tried health store brands (like GNC) and…

I think it's definately feasible! I signed up for a 10 K two months ago and at that time I could only run 3-4 K comfortably. My goal was to add about 1 K each week, until my 10 K race (which is coming up this Sunday!) I WAS NOT a runner, or even athletic, for a day in my life but it had been a while since I…

Way to go!!! I run my first 10K (and first race ever) next weekend! It's very encouraging to hear about other people's sucess stories :flowerforyou:

I agree, most packaging lists the precooked weight. I thought this might be a good place to mention my FAVOURITE weight loss friend--my kitchen scale. I bought a cheap one (I think it was less than $20 at a local liquidation store) and it is a god-send! I used to get so annoyed with packaging that would list the servings…

Isn't it great to have a live in support system! I sincerely doubt I would be where I am without my hubby's support. At first his support was passive--he'd eat whatever I was eating and lose weight twice as fast (not on purpose of course...apparently a common trend among couples, from what I've read...LOL) But now he makes…

Hey Way to Go!!! You're doing great and you DO deserve it! I remember going from obese to overweight and it truly does feel great; something that I'm sure many people don't understand but I definitely do. (I went from 217 to 155 on thebiggestloserclub.com before joining MFP) As for the logging, I was exactly the same…
