I understand. I turned 40 in Nov and wasn't really too worried about it but after had many of the same feelings as you do. I also had some of the similar life changes as well. Looking back, I think it was more those life changes than the age that played a part in what I was feeling. I turned it into a positive... started…

I weigh in every day or every other day... not so much to track weigh loss but to track daily/weekly/monthly fluctuations since I tend to hold a lot of water at "certain" times of the month. As long as I know that it's due to that, I don't tend to freak if I see a higher number on the scale. I know others would say only…

Ugggh... don't I know it! I didn't have any qualms about turning 40 but it seems as though it's not agreeing with me LOL... all the more reason I'm motivated to be healthier in general. Losing weight is just one of the battles.. I guess mortality is setting in, lol. Feel free to add me.. extending the invitation to anyone…

5'2 and currently at 143lbs. No idea what my measurements are but I can tell you the size 6 in my closet no longer fit. GW: 120 - 125

I'd like to think so....

Hmmm... sounds interesting. And who couldn't use a little more $$, right? I'll check it out and watch this thread for more comments.

I haven't tried this yet but am planning to tomorrow. I may tweak it bit since I already have salsa verde sauce premade but it seemed like a good starting point. I know it says to use the broiler but I think I'm going to cook it in the crockpot and then broil at the very end to get the skin a little crisp.…

I recently had this problem and like you, don't normally have it. Before resorting to anything drastic, try what seemed to work for me... up your fiber and water and exercise, even walking, whenever you can. A couple of days of this worked to get things going for me.

1 slice stone ground whole wheat bread, spread with 1 oz goat cheese, topped with sliced avocado and drizzled with sriracha sauce... one of my fave meals!

My gym playlist is pretty much all over the map, LOL. "Lose Yourself" is definitely in there.. along with Van Halen, Metallica, Pitbull, AC/DC, Justin Timberlake, Rhianna, Aerosmith, Pink. Favorite all time that really gets me to finish strong is Poundcake / Van Halen.

Just as the other posters said, not cheesy at all! I think a lot of people here, myself included, feel the same way. Feel free to add me if you'd like.. could always use more friends & support. Extending the invitation to anyone else who is looking for more buddies as well!

[/quote] Good list but skip the baby carrots and buy whole carrots. Baby carrots aren't really baby carrots plus they are treated with chlorine. They are waste carrots that couldn't be sold due to their shape, so the carrot farmer whittles them down in the "baby cut" style and then treats them with chlorine to keep them…

Listening!! I need some gym guidance as well. I've also been a walker/jogger and never really ventured past the cardio machines at my gym but know I need to incorporate some strength training but I'm totally confused by all the machines and which to do and how.

Enjoy it LOL

I just joined Planet Fitness and I love it there. Very relaxed atmosphere, no pressure, no major lunk heads, etc. Mine does offer some classes but it's $20 a month. They also have a Smoothie bar and sunless tanning, neither of which I have tried. After comparing a few in the area, this was the most reasonable at $20 a…

Wise little lady.. well said!

I'm with the OP.. I love the fact that everyone is giving a ton of information which is good (for me anyways but I'm clueless) but with the ROM and RM, I think I may be even more confused. I don't mean to hijack the thread but that's what the forum are for right? To answer questions that most likely more than 1 person has…

BUMP I'm looking forward to the suggestions and information and advice to this. I'm clueless about the seemingly male weight area of my gym. No idea what to do or how to do it, LOL.

Same boat... I have almost no friends left! Granted my presence has been spotty at best the last few months but I'm back on track and also looking for some new buddies. I don't preach about anyone's diary, not my place to police anyone. But love the motivation and support from the peeps around here! Feel free to add…
