Dr Oz 2 Week Weight Loss
I love Dr. Oz and of course, I was interested in his 2 week weight loss plan. But I have to say I'm disappointed. His health advice is usually pretty sound . This plan cuts out basically all sugar (including alcohol), all carbs (except allowing for a small amount of brown rice each day), all caffeine, all dairy (except for…

Sauna/Steam Room?
My gym has both a sauna and steam room.. what is the difference between the two and what benefits are there to either? Should I use them after my workout? And if so, how, how long, etc? Totally clueless.....

Back at it...
Hi.. and Happy New Year!! I'm not new to this site, I've been off and on here for several years. I've always come back because the people and the support found on this site is fantastic. So, after neglecting my health and fitness, I'm back again. Looking to lose about 25lbs but also gain strength and improve my health.…

Challenging spouses
My BF isn't exactly into changing his lifestyle or eating habits, which is totally fine with me. The problem I have is the evenings we spend together. We mostly hang at his house for geographical reasons. He doesn't cook, mostly orders out so dinner time is often a challenge. I've tried going home and eating there first…

Is it me or...
Is MFP almost a non traditional online dating site in one (maybe small but still) sense? Don't get me wrong.. I don't necessarily see anything wrong with that. In fact, it might not be not a bad thing, if that's the intent. I mean, you have at least one thing in common with the people you're interacting with right off the…

Working out TOO much? Is there such a thing?
I usually hit the gym 6, sometimes all 7 days a week and do about 3-4 miles on the treadmill each day (combo of brisk walking/jogging). Then another 2-3 times a week, wherever I cam fit it I'll fit in about 30 min of pilates, yoga or strength training. Someone told me this is way too much and I should take at least 2 days…

FINALLY!!!
A girl at work today said.. "Wow, all that working out you've been doing.. it's really paying off, you look great"! Yay me!! I can see and feel a difference but up until today not one single person noticed, and if they did, didn't ever say anything. She made my day! I don't mean to sound like I need to be fawned over and…

trainer kicked my butt!
Holy cow! I recently switched gyms and new members get a free 1hr evaluation session with a trainer. Oh my lord did he kick my butt!! Here I thought I would do fairly well since I've been confident that I've been progressively doing better in the last 45 days or so that I've really been putting in an effort... not so…

still calorie confused...
I have a complete mental block with figuring out all the calculations for calorie counts, deficits, etc.... So on my active days, no problem... as long as I can hit the gym for an hour I'm fine. FitBit tallies my calories burned total somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000. My calorie total here on MFP is 1300, no problem,…

5 hr energy?
Anyone have any experience with 5 hr energy? I'm considering using it for the days I need to work out in the evenings. I get up way early and usually too tired to do anything come 7pm. Does it really give you a boost? Is it harmful (besides the caffeine)?

Uggghhh!!!!
Just venting... Went out to lunch with a colleague which I totally avoid doing and ate an entire meatball hero... ughhh! I know I shouldn't stress about one meal (which I am) but more importantly I feel like total crap now! How do I undo this misery!! But in a way I feel good... knowing months ago I would have done this…

Confused... FitBit vs. plain ol' HRM ?
I was all set to buy a FitBit (after checking out the other varieties out there like Body Bug and Body Media) and then thought that maybe I should check out the varieties of good ol' HRM out there. Now I'm more confused than ever! I basically want something that I can accurately track how many calories I'm burning with.…

anyone doing Wii Fit ?
Just curious... Anyone doing Wii Fit? I happen to love it and use it to supplement my time at the gym. Almost feel guilty, don't always feel like it's working out. I do all of my cardio at the gym but use Wii Fit (and Just Dance) when I just can't get there due to my schedule. Anyone else do the same?

Just bought a treadmill!
So excited.. finally decided to buy a treadmill after hemming and hawing about it forever. Can't wait for it to come..but it won't be for another 2 weeks. I have no problem walking on the treadmill and plan to entertain myself with my iPod, TV, etc. Anyone have any more fun ideas for while they're walking on the treadmill?

Wii games
I really enjoy playing Just Dance 2 on our Wii so I thought that I could also purchase other games as well to supplement my exercise. I just noticed just how many fitness games there are! Jillian Michaels, Biggest Loser, EA Active, Wii Fit.. the list goes on and on! Before I spend money on something I may not even like, I…

Carbs... after 2pm bad?
Hi there.. I've always done well in the past with limiting my carbs. Not cutting them out completely keeping them down to a minimum, and only good carbs, with the bulk of my calories coming from lean protein and veggies. I just got The 17 Day Diet book and although I did not realize the first 2 cycles (first 44 days were…

Question...
So, thanks to this site, I've also become a fan of the Hungry Girl site as well. There are so many good alternative recipes on there, in their recipe makeovers, is the consistent use of non fat this, low fat that, imitation this. I personally not only do not care for the low fat/no fat versions of things (especially dairy…
