I just started Paleo! It's essentially a high fat/low carb diet with natural foods. It's kind of tricky when starting off, and menu planning and grocery shopping take forever (why is canola oil in EVERYTHING), but I'm feelin' it so far.

Off-and-on MFP user. Back to it! Trying to use the social side more this time around and thrive off community motivation :) Let's do this!

I'm back at it and about to add all y'all :)

I'm 5'2'' and set my goal for 1,400 a day. But I also do some kind of cardio most days and end up netting around 1,200. I'm steadily losing so I'm sticking with it. I also go by weekly totals rather than just daily, as we all have good days and bad days.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain, but you have to create the recipe and log each ingredient. But good news is that it saves for easy future use :)

Yay! I have friends!! Haha :))

Thank you! I mainly end up doing so much treadmill because I run on my lunchbreaks (and eat at my desk), so there's an hour right there. I honestly don't know what to do with myself if I'm not running on my break, haha. But I'm most certainly going to start in some strength training probably 3-4 times a week alternating.…

Oh, there's an idea. I'll definitely have to try that out :)

[/quote] Well based on your stats, I would have you eating 1750 calories total each day (and do not eat back exercise calories as it's already in your TDEE). There are two things you really need to do in order to help fat lost. First, get off the treadmill and start picking up some heavy weights (so you can't do more than…

Thanks so much! I probably should add more calories, so I'm going to make it another challenge to do so :) And I have a heart rate monitor so I try to keep my heart rate in the "zone" when I run with walking breaks to bring it down. Sloooowly starting to add in strength, haha. I'm just a wuss with weights :P

I'm 24 and a pescetarian (I only eat seafood for my meat) So that's the lack of protein. Right now I'm a treadmill queen. I run at least an hour a day 6 days a week :)

Thank you! I take a multi vitamin daily and always forget to log my water, haha. But I try to average 80-100 ounces a day :) And I'm TERRIFIED of my numbers being red. It's like a failure or something so I know sometimes I stay too low =\
-
Orrrr you can buy a heart rate monitor :) Haha. I got mine a few weeks ago and worship it. That's too much math for me O_o

Thank you! It's nice to hear others' encouraging stories :)

Thank you all so much! I guess I'd always assumed water weight fluctuations only happened in the beginning, not throughout the course. I'm pretty certain now that's what it is. I'd only lost .2 pounds last week then all of a sudden 3.2! Haha, not gonna complain as long as I don't see it come back ;P

Your pee is going to smell funnyyyyy, hehe :P
-
Thanks, guys. I like my heart rate monitor's numbers better anyways :D haha
-
Thanks!

I keep my incline between 3 and 5 depending on my speed (up to 8 or so if I'm walking). And my monitor has been programmed with my stats. So would that be the more accurate response? I just want to make sure I'm assigning calories appropriately :)

Thank you all! I guess I was just needing to hear that I'm on the right track :) And thanks so much, Brian, for breaking it down for me. That's incredibly helpful!

I cut up tomatoes and mix in salt and pepper :)

I love quinoa! I cook it as a side with fish and add lemon pepper, mmm...
