  • Glad to hear that you have stuck to it. Keep up the good work. :)
  • I take two gummy chewable one a day for women with immunity support and 900mg fish oil.
  • 3/6 - Walked 1 mile, Biked 7 miles = 8 miles total 42 miles to go until I reach my goal
  • I eat a snack after lunch and then eat a late dinner. If I am still hungry I snack healthy. Some good choices include pretzels, special k chips/crackers, light buttered popcorn or any fruits or veggies.
  • I'm in! Pretty sure I can do at least 50. I live 4.5 miles away from work so if I bike two days a week starting next week then I will be at my goal. I may start this weekend depending how I feel; the weather is so nice here in north dakota. :)
  • This happens to me a lot too. It is very difficult to stick to a diet when your partner is spontaneous with plans.
  • I have been good so far, but every time I drive past my favorite Chinese buffet I want to stop. Also would love to eat a cheeseburger and fries about now. Guess I should go buy some frozen turkey burgers or better yet bocca burgers. I also would kill for a margarita; It isn't the same when you drink it without the alcohol.…
  • I was pescatarian off and on for two years and really enjoyed it. I lost 20lbs but when I went back to eating meat I gained it back. I would like to slowly cut back the amount of meat I eat and eventually return to that lifestyle. Everyone has their own reasons, for me it is for my health. Although I support ethical…
  • Just an update for you guys and gals. I have found that by eating more protein and drinking my recommended 8 glasses of water that I am not usually hungry in between meals. Either that or perhaps my cigarette cravings have finally subsided.
  • In the past I have set myself up for failure by having very high expectations of loosing weight. This caused me to become depressed and to hate eating, which in turn contributed to my bad habits. I am a very emotional eater and have found that I rarely was conscious of what I was putting into my body. I was hospitalized…
  • I believe that "dieting" should be more of a lifestyle change rather than a short period of time that you attempt to eat healthy. In this case, I do not count when I splurge as cheating, but I do try my best to still monitor what I am eating. You can eat regular food and still be healthy. It is all about portions and…
  • From the sound of it, your depression/anxiety is probably what is suppressing your appetite. Everyone is different; when I am anxious I am never hungry, but when I am depressed I am a bottomless pit. Did you ensure that your settings on MFP are correct as far as how often you exercise and the type of lifestyle you live…
  • Try eating extra protein in the morning or adding a protein shake to your breakfast. Also make sure you are drinking the 8 recommended glasses of water a day. I snack between meals because otherwise my blood sugar drops; you could always try eating smaller portions more frequently and see if that helps.
  • My diary is open as well; always open to friend requests. :) Just a heads up that my primary goal of tracking what I eat is to monitor the amount of fat I eat each day, due to a problem with my pancreas. I am currently working on eating more protein so will be supplementing my breakfasts with an additional protein shake. I…
  • We are allowed to dress casual at my first job but must dress business casual on the first of the month and on Fridays. I have to dress business casual at my second job (can wear khakis and black jeans). Both are office jobs.
  • -Hugs- May I ask how long you have suffered from autoimmune pancreatitus? You are not alone; I also have panic disorder and depression. I developed these conditions before I had pancreatitus but going through the stress of this illness has not made it any easier. I am only 25 and am not allowed to drink with my friends; it…
  • Could you please provide a reliable resource which states the recommended caloric intake? I would assume that MFP is correct since it is based on my lifestyle (sedentary) and my goal of loosing 1lb per week.
  • I was vegetarian for a year; I am unsure if it was due to the diet change but I lost 20 lbs. After I returned to a "regular" diet I gained back the weight and then some. I think what may have contributed as well was being cognizant of what I was eating.
  • Thanks for your suggestion. I think the majority of times I have had a heavy breakfast is when I go out to eat so I will keep an eye on this. Also, I am more so interested in the natural approach rather than taking pills.
  • That makes a lot of sense since diabetics have to watch their carbs as well. Do you have a link to the resource you used or was this just something you know? I would love to learn more. :) I am going to bring up my blood sugar issue with my Dr next visit and will consider buying a blood sugar monitor. Thanks!
  • Funny that you mention.it; I just discovered this product yesterday and plan on ordering some. :)
  • Rarely. I only drink caffeine if I am very tired. Even then I prefer green tea to coffee. Thanks for your suggestion. :)
  • Omg that sounds delicious. I have never tried putting protein powder in oatmeal. I will have to give that a shot. Perhaps by having a high protein breakfast will keep me full longer. Good idea!
  • I'm not sure I would be experiencing withdrawals two months after quitting.
  • Thanks! I will check into that.
  • Yeah I will make an appointment to have my blood sugar checked. I have a feeling that may be part of my problem since th pancreas produces insulin. I have been watching what I eat for about two months now but have regularly been updating my diary for two weeks now. At the moment I am focusing on the amount of fat and…
  • Thanks I will check into it but offhand I know almonds are high in fat.
  • I generally get flareups a few times a year. My assumption is that the diet/lifestyle change is because my condition is chronic. I will be starting to monitor my carbs and protein and see if that helps. Did they say why your wife's pancreas inflamed?
  • The reason I am on this diet is due to my pancreas not functioning properly. I love Greek yogurt and have been working on adding beans and greens to my diet.
  • I notice that when I am stressed out that I crave fast food. What I've done this past week is allowed myself to eat out, but only healthy food. For example, I do not put cheese on my sandwich and go "naked" (without bun) if it is an option. The only places I allow myself to go are Pita Pit, Subway, Jimmy Johns and Quiznos.…
