I love to cook recipes with chicken. So far my favorites include soaking about a pound of chicken in 1/2 cup lime juice for at least 2 hours. Also, I once used steak marinade and left the chicken in it over night; we used half a bottle and cooked 2lbs chicken. It was cracked pepper, garlic, and lemon flavored. Then we cut…

I chose to be a flexitarian (part-time vegetarian) due to a health concern which has given me high trylicerides. I am to limit the amount of fat in my diet and find that eliminating the majority of meat (especially red meat) has helped me to stay within my goals.

I am a flexitarian due to high triglycerides. I was pescatarian for about a year, but have decided to include white meat back into my diet. When I choose to eat meat it is typically chicken, turkey, or fish.

Congratulations!

I have the same problem! I am going to try working out in the morning and see if it helps. You're awesome for being so committed to your goal!

I had the same problem with Dr. Pepper; when I began cutting back I noticed that I was very tired and needed coffee to get through the day. I'm still working on not needing caffeine. Congratulations on your anniversary!

This is an awesome NSV. I look forward to the day when I start to show that I've lost weight . Great job!

It's great to hear that you have accomplished your goal!

I climbed two flights of stairs without being out of breath! What an awesome feeling to not have to stop after the first level!

Anyone feel free to add me. I log daily and have an open diary.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Today's goals were to drink 8+ glasses of water, take the stairs instead of the elevator (I had a class on 3rd floor) and meet my requirements in fiber. I was 9 grams shy of meeting my goal for fiber. Also decided to go out to eat tonight, but I stayed within my calorie limit! :D

My goals for today were to drink 8+ glasses of water, remember to take my multivitamin and meet my daily requirement for fiber.

My goal for January 11th was to eat more fiber, make sure I drink 8+ glasses of water and eat at regular intervals. Today was a good day and I am beginning to feel the difference from staying hydrated.

Sadly the first place I noticed was in my bust. lol

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories! I am in a similar boat; about 50lbs to loose but I plan on doing it over the year (a little over 3 months in). I am 5'5" and my starting weight was 212lbs; I am currently 199lbs. My goal weight is 160lbs which means I am 25% to my goal. Anyone who is motivated with similar goals…

Yes, in order to determine your recommended daily caloric intake you must log everything you eat, including fruit and vegetables It doesn't matter where the calories come from; a banana is 100 calories and so is a few pieces of chocolate. In the end, monitoring your food intake and staying active is the correct way to…

I totally agree! Having motivated active friends has changed my outlook. It is great to know that I am not alone. :) Feel free to add me!

I am also looking to loose about 50lbs. Looking for motivated friends; feel free to add me. I have an open diary and have been active for over 90 days (reset to 15 due to a delay in logging).

I was on a combination (estrogen/progesterone) pill for the majority of my young adult life. Over the course of three years I gained about 30lbs, but also was not very healthy. I have heard other stories from people that have gained weight; my doctor has said that the depo shot causes significant side affects in this…

I am 26 and am a little over 90 days in on my journey. I have been down this road before and would love some supportive friends. I am a full time college student and work part time. Feel free to add me if you are motivated.

I have had a lot of trouble eating out, especially at Chinese Buffets. Normally I just go with a larger serving of Mongolian stir fry with extra veggies and then a smaller portion of my favorite chicken, rice, and a spring roll or two. Try eating slow and drink plenty of water to prevent yourself from over eating. I also…

I'm in as well! My goal is 15lbs lost over the summer. Feel free to add me if you make a group and anyone else who would like a motivated friend. :)

We all have reasons why we start this journey. I agree with OP that doing it for the happiness of another person is not the best route, but you have to also see it from the perspective that you will be healthy and happy.

I love your attitude! I'm starting to get to the point where I can see loose skin already and I am marking this for when I need it.

It's like when you pull a band-aid off; I just rip it off as fast as I can and move on. Every day is a new day and I try to learn from my mistakes. :)

Thank you! :flowerforyou:

I always try to make healthy choices. I plan on cooking lots of vegetables and limiting desserts/candy. We'll see how it goes!
