not true, a calorie is not a calorie. So if i ate 2400 calories of french fries all day vs eating 2400 calories of mixed fruit all day, what do you think will digest in your body better? Which one will have you store more fat?

Low carbs should mean moderate carbs. You never want to eliminate carbohydrates from your daily eating. Hey, I dont think that the machine is having you slow down because of that. It probably doing that because you set it on a certain burning zone. First thing is, where ever the LEAST fat is on your body, thats where its more then likely going to be gone first. Second, you can't spot reduce. This sounds like you may have gotten exercised induced nausea. This is common for beginners or for those who have just gotten back into a routine and going at it hard.
