  • When it's just me about $250/month depending on what staples I need to buy and how well I do hitting sales and using coupons. I eat meat but not very much, usually only when I go out. When My husband is home that number goes up to about $600 and his lunch is provided at work. I am more apt to actually cook and he eats meat…

  • Here is my before! I took it before I headed to the gym this morning, don't have any tops that actually bare my belly so I just rolled up my tank!
  • Thanks everyone for your input. I went to Q80 @ Norfolk this morning (just in case anyone else in the area is wondering) I got there at 5:15 and it was busy but not nearly as busy as I expected, maybe the fact that it was Friday had something to do with that? I had no problem getting any of the machines I wanted and really…
  • We are at Naval Station Norfolk. I'm loving the area so far!
  • We are at NAS Norfolk, and I totally just stalked this board and added everyone who is nearby as a friend, hope you don't mind :)
  • Hi Everyone! I'm Shanon and My husband is a sailor in the Navy. We are currently stationed in Norfolk, VA . I joined MFP in 2007 and have gone through phases of using it or not. The past month or so is really the first time I've even looked at the message boards and until yesterday I didn't even realize groups existed! My…

  • YAY for good recommendations! :)
  • I'm 5'5, I weigh 160ish right now, at my largest I was 17_ (I was afraid to look at the last number). My goal weight is 145 which should make me a size 8, at least that's what size I was last time I weighed 145. But I think it depends a lot on your body type/build. I look huge at 170, I also think I would look sick at 120.…
  • She isn't going to have the same results as you simply because she is female and you are not...our bodies are different, HOWEVER, she isn't eating enough. 1,200 calories is a great way to jump-start a diet but after a little while your body starts to hold on to everything you eat because it is the bare minimum the average…
  • You can totally do it Georgia! My best friend lost over 100lbs in college for the same reason you did. She still has some stretch marks but they have faded a lot over time and don't change the fact that she still looks AMAZING, especially compared to how unhealthy she was before. Don't worry about little things like…
  • I love epicurious, I use it when I don't know what to make. I also love the dinner-spinner on the allrecipies.com mobile ap :)
  • count me in, who doesn't want a better looking belly!
  • A lot of bars serve "Skinny" margaritas and such now. I usually go with either rum & diet or vodka & cranberry juice, of course the cranberry juice has a lot of sugar but at least it has some good properties :)
  • You don't have to eat your extra calories every day but you do want to make sure your average net calories are not under 1200 for an extended period of time. A common recommendation I see is use your weekly average for your goals and try and get it near your daily goal.
  • If you split a small popcorn and skip the extra butter it isn't too bad if you want to buy something there. I usually take in trail mix or nuts of some sort.
  • The theory is the vibrations break down the fat cells into a form that is easier to get out of the body. Just using the vibrating thing isn't exercising but if you jog in place on top if it it should theoretically get rid of more fat than without. I don't know if it works or not.
  • Have you cut out caffeine? some peoples system gets used to the extra help it gets from there morning coffee so if they suddenly quit drinking it they have problems for a week or two. Try eating yogurt with probiotics (activia?) or taking a probiotic supplement if you're still having problems after your body has time to…
  • I had kabobs earlier this week, we love them! I usually do chicken or shrimp, onions, pineapple, & green peppers. For a special treat sometimes we do beef or lamb also, just use more veggies and less meat :)
  • Ask y our doctor what your calorie goal should be and then set it manually. Depending on how overweight you are they may have you set it to loose some or gain or maintain throughout. Good luck & Congratulations! :)

  • Do you get most of your carbs from crackers/crisps/crunchy sources? Or protein from nuts??? Both of those are things that people need more of after workouts so it could be that's what you're really craving. I tend to crave pickles when my iron is low---I also drowned cooked spinach in vinegar as a child so I think my…
  • I chew gum or go get a glass of water or tea when I think I'm hungry but know I'm bored. If you really want to eat something try frozen grapes or blueberries, since they are frozen they take longer to eat than raw ones :)
  • You're not eating enough. You want your net to be at least at the 1200 mark, especially when breastfeeding. I usually try to keep my net on the high side of between 1200 and my goal for the day.
  • This may sound like a stupid question but are you getting enough sleep? I take a B-complex vitamin on days when I am extra draggy but it is usually because I didn't get enough sleep. On the food side if I just need a little pick-me up I usually eat a handful or nuts or a piece of fruit.
  • If they are feeding you--banquet style meals at conferences are usually high in fat and carbs and low in protein & other essential nutrients. If they have a good breakfast set up make sure you start your day right, get some protein and fruit when you can! When I'm at those sorts of events if they have oranges or bananas or…
  • Try to eat your carbs/protein/fat/dairy during your morning meal (Sorry I don't know the names!) try to get in lean protein (white meat/eggs?) and fruits/veggies in at night, but not dried fruit try to stick with whole fruits & veggies. If you can manage to not eat any meat/dairy/bread/etc at night, some studies say the…
  • I'm in the area :)
  • Good for you! Keep up the good work.
  • Settings>Update diet/fitness profile Change your current weight to what you want the starting weight to be and it will change the previous weight & date verses when you just enter the day's weight on your progress bar. Weight lost is calculated based on the weight you enter in Settings>update Hope that made sense!
  • They quit using 100% maple syrup?? That was 1/2 the reason I love going there!
