Stuff like this is going to vary drastically on skill level and personal fitness level...I couldn't even really give you an estimate. Best thing you can do is wear a heart rate monitor while going to class. I don't have the opportunity to do pole fitness as I live in the middle of nowhere, but I do aerial circus acts and…

I am already at a healthy weight and never came to this site to lose much at all. I came to change my eating habits and to become a much stronger, healthy individual. I work out to challenge my body and I eat right because it's good for me. I constantly have friends and my mother telling me to stop exercising, eat…

It's impossible to "trap" fat on your body. You're not going to build muscle and have fat get stuck underneath it. Fat develops over top of muscle. The more you burn, the more it disappears...Anything that gets you moving. It's more of a personal preference than one being best. I really like Zumba, I like Insanity, I love…

Did this week's challenge tonight and it felt pretty good. I was a little confused by the second move...were we supposed to leave our feet in the air the whole time, or raise and lower them for each rep? I raised and lowered and it was a workout for sure. Way harder than just leaving the legs in the air and crunching up,…

this sounds yummy!

This is so true, I also agree that it might be time to get a second opinion. I somewhat feel that sitting around doing nothing just makes me think about everything i'm stressed out about...I do way better when I get up and keep busy. It seems like people should be working to help you target what is causing the stress, and…

Hey girl, when's the challenge going up for this week? I'm pumped!

Mine is pull ups! I just hate them with a passion. I think it's one of those exercises that most women just avoid all together. I rarely do them but it's something I need to change because I know they will help me out a lot! As far as the push ups are concerned...do them slower. It makes it harder, yes, but it gives you…

The longer you can stick with this, the better the results you will have, and eventually it just becomes automatic. You don't stress out about it because it's just part of your daily routine. One of my favorite parts is actually logging my exercise and seeing the extra amount of food I can eat because of it, lol. Logging…

If you're not sure you can stay away from it, just throw it in the trash. I killed my willpower so many times on things like chips and candy and I always feel like garbage after I eat it...your tummy might be sad for a while but you will be proud of yourself in the end!

Well, I didn't really think I would make it through after just doing the first round on Friday, but I stuck it out and finished. I even made sure I did better this time. I may not, however, be able to walk tomorrow. Just sayin', lol. Psychopath Workout Round 2 Burpees- 7,6,6,6,6,5,5,6 1 Leg Dead Lift-…

Weigh once a week, once every other week, or even once a month...there's more to becoming fit and healthy than just a number on a scale. Focus on other things, like how much stronger you feel, the way your muscles are changing, the way your clothes fit, the pride you feel when you finish a day of making good choices at…

13.5 miles for this week, jogged every day but Saturday. Not too bad for me. The first couple days were rough, but I can already feel my legs getting used to it! Hope everybody had a productive weekend, let's all kick butt next week!

I was just looking for a class in my area today, I really want to try this! Unfortunately the closest place to me was 45 minutes away and it's no longer in business! An hour and a half drive to a class plus the cost of fuel isn't in my budget right now sadly. Don't be scared, take the plunge! Those classes aren't anything…

My mom tries to feed me all kinds of junk I used to love and cook me all of my 'unhealthy' favorites. It is easier for others to try and make you fail than for them to step up and have their own success. Push through it, your hard work and determination will pay off!

Bahahaha, this made my night!

By the way, you can't beat yourself up too much about it. Tomorrow is a new day, just keep moving forward and make it count!

This happens to me sometimes, especially late at night when dinner starts to wear off but I'm not ready for bed yet. One thing that helps me (besides sipping on water and pouting) is to think about all the times I have given in, and how bad it makes me feel. I love yummy food as much as the next person, but I always hate…

Also great points...stretching after a warmup is an awesome tip, and try to be well hydrated before your workout as well as sipping some water throughout your exercises.

It's hard to tell what the cause of the cramps really is....are you doing strength training type workouts, or cardio? If you're doing cardio, it's probably due to a lack of oxygen to your muscles and not so much that you ate food earlier. You don't have to stop, just lower the intensity of whatever you're doing and take…

That's what I'm saying too!

You can lose without the exercise, but if there's any way to keep exercise in your routine, it sure does help. It's also beneficial for many more reasons than just to lose weight. Ask your doctor about swimming and other activities you can do in the water, those would be low impact and a great workout. Good luck, we're all…

I wouldn't mind doing this...So do we check in here once a week?

Oh and just from my own HRM readings, I continue to burn around 50-65 calories in 20-30 minutes of stretching post-workout...most of my workouts are pretty intense cardio though such as Insanity or a solid pace on the treadmill for a few miles, which would definitely affect the burn post workout. I have a feeling I burn…
-
Without wearing a heart rate monitor it is difficult to say...I don't stretch that much until after my workouts are completed, when I still have elevated heart rate, so I'm sure that affects my calorie burn. Just out of curiosity, do you follow a program from a dvd or is it something you've just developed on your own...I'm…

I order a lot from teavana.com, they have tons of different kinds and if you're not into straight up plain green tea, they have lots of blends and green teas that have fruit and other ingredients added to soften the taste. As long as you don't steep the leaves too long, you can get a much sweeter flavor without having to…
