I am a mother of 4 with a full time job. My kids are 7 (almost 8), 6, 4, and 2 years tomorrow. In the past I lost 60lbs between baby #2 and #3, then gained most of it back, then lost 40lbs between #3 and #4, then gained it all back. Now I can't have any more kids, so I know we are done and my baby is finally old enough…

Did you know that you can actually put the egg (or egg whites) into your oatmeal as it finishes cooking? The heat cooks the egg and since it is all mixed in with the oatmeal, you don't even taste it and it doesn't really change the texture of the oatmeal. I have tried a smaller version of this recipe for pumpkin spice…

Check your local library for a Summer Reading Program. Even if your child doesn't like yo read, they have a ton of great activities and programs! I work as a librarian and our summer program is always a big hit!

I am so glad to see that you are starting now and asking for tips rather than waiting until a couple of months before the wedding and expecting a miracle. You may not be able to look like a supermodel by your big day, but I promise that if you commit to this, you can look better than you do now and be pretty happy with…

I wish you the best with your goals! I am 26 with small children also and a lot of weight to lose. I have been at this since January and I can tell you this site can help a lot. I sent you a friend request so we can encourage each other!

I am a mom to 3 (Lauren is going to be 5 in April, Logan turned 3 in November, and Collin turned 1 in February). I work full time as a Librarian (but wish I was a stay at home mom). There are plenty of mommies on this site! You will have no problem finding the support you need here. Friend request headed your way!

On Friday started on my TOM and I made the wrong reservations for a movie that we were supposed to go see the next day and almost lost out on some money. Luckily the theater was nice enough to allow me to switch the tickets. On Saturday morning, I went out jogging since I knew my husband and I would be eating out a lot…

First let me say, I am sorry for your loss. Losing someone so close is very hard. I lost my Dad, but I was very young when it happened (21 months old) and it effected my whole life, but the loss of my grandmother in 2007 was the hardest loss I have been through yet because she is the closest person to me to die. I have…

That is so great! It is so nice that you two can do this with and for each other. My husband and I are only a couple of months in to this journey and I am hoping to report our success some day. I have about another 40lbs to lose and he has over 100 to lose. I am just glad to see that it is possible!

I have also had 3 sections and I know how frustrating this can be. I also have some back pain, but I am not sure how bad your's is. I like to use the exercise ball to do my ab work so that I am not on the hard floor. You might want to try this as well as some of the other suggestions others have already made. Good luck!

I am sorry that you are struggling and feel hungry so much. My calorie goal each day is 1290, but I always work out and try to burn at least 150-200, so I can have a little more food. I have found that the most filling things are veggies and beans. I love black beans mixed with other things. You should try some low cal…

If you do want to try out some work out DVDs but don't want to invest the money just yet, you should check out your local library. I am a Reference Librarian and our library has several popular workout DVDs available to check out for free for a week at a time. You never know, your library may even be able to lead you to…

Hi. I am 26 and have 3 children. Lauren is going to be 5 in April, Logan turned 3 in November and Collin just turned 1 this month. I have been married 8 and a half years. I would love some more support too, so I will add you!

I really believe my ovulation is and always has been worse than my period. I cramp so bad and I feel horrible and usually eat like crap (though I have been changing all that lately). I know exactly what you are talking about. I just take an ibuprofen and exercise (even though that is the last thing I want to do) and I…

Welcome. You will be surprised to find that once you are eating healthier and wiser, you won't be hungry. This has been the best part of doing this versus many other fad diets. Like you said, this is a life-style change. You are going to do great and you will amaze yourself if you just commit and stick to this. Good luck…

You sound like you are on the right track. Some times it takes a health scare to get motivated. My husband is 340lbs and he is only 32 years old. He is luck (especially with his family history) that high blood pressure is his only health problem right now. I am so afraid that if he doesn't stay on this path we have started…

Try doing something fun for exercise like taking a walk with him, or riding a bike, or roller skating, or swimming. You could also just try to work out in a different room, while he isn't home, or get him to work out with you so you don't have to be embarrassed.

My kids (4, 3 and 1 years old) like my home-made quesadillas. I just use cooked, torn apart chicken or some cooked shrimp and saute the meat with some finely chopped onions, green peppers, and red peppers (with some fajita seasoning added in for taste) in just a little bit of olive oil. When this is done, I empty this…

You can add me. I have 2 boys and a girl. I know how hard this mom and fitness thing can be and I need more support too.

I am a Reference Librarian. I also have 3 kids all age 4 and under that keep me very busy in my "off" time.

You can add me. I am a few years removed from High School, but I can remember that feeling of wanting to make the people who had known me for so long look at me differently. :-)

I LOVE this Black Bean Salsa (You just have to make sure to get something healthier than plain tortilla chips to dip it with): 1/8 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1/3 Cup Red Wine Vinegar 2 Cloves or 1 Tbls Minced Garlic 1/8 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp salt 2 Cans Black Beans (Rinsed and Drained well) 2 Cans Shoepeg Corn (Drained)…

I am new here too and I have at least 50lbs to lose. I also have 3 young children. I would love to have you as a "friend" for the long haul, especially since I don't have that kind of support in my real life.
