i had a ridiculously bad eating day today, and i'm super discouraged. normally, i find it easy to stay around 1200 net cals, but today i found it nearly IMPOSSIBLE! i was starving and in an awful mood all day. however, it could be because i'm ovulating; does anyone else get this way around that time? i read a lot of threads about TOM, but what about when ovulating?

I really believe my ovulation is and always has been worse than my period. I cramp so bad and I feel horrible and usually eat like crap (though I have been changing all that lately). I know exactly what you are talking about. I just take an ibuprofen and exercise (even though that is the last thing I want to do) and I really do feel better afterwards.0

Oops, a boy wandered in. I know I get cranky when I'm undernourished. If you've got 50 pounds to loose, I'm going to say strait up that 1,200 calories is probably way low for what your body needs regardless what other things are going on. Listen to your body and try eating a bit more. It will help in the long run and will keep the weight loss consistent.0

I feel exactly the same way. And currently do at the moment! It's so hard, you want that comfort food. But I agree about exercising. Sometimes you lose the cravings while you are working out. I also agree with the poor gentlemen who wandered in here. If you need to lose that amount of weight, there is no way 1200 cals is enough for you each day. If you are exercising on top of dieting, you may experience dizziness and fatigue if you're only eating that much. I currently weigh 170 and want to lose 15 pounds, and MFP has me at 1300 cals per day. Be careful!0

When I get my period in general I'm always STARVING and I eat carbs like nobody's business! Girls are complicated creatures.0
