Coldeez, or any zinc tablet. It totally takes away your appetite because it makes your taste buds numb. I learned this when I had a cold. It's not pleasant, it helps if a 3 o'clock craving for office donuts happens!

I started 16/8 IF by the recommendation of my doctor to lower my triglycerides. I lost 35 pounds and my triglycerides went from 485 to 67 in 5 months without medicine. My doctor said she's never seen something so drastic and credits the IF.

I use Splenda and a splash of milk won't kill you!
-
@Verykatie Thanks for the advice. I understand where you're coming from. My doctor is happy with my progress and thinks averaging 1400 per day is sufficient for now. I am sedentary and will increase my calories when I start exercising and moving to maintenance.
-
@VeryKatie I am female and started out with about 1200-1350 a day but focus on the weekly calorie goal of around 9800 now. With IF, a lot of days It's hard to reach 1200 because I'm not hungry. But, I reach it so I can still fuel my body. The extra calories I use to play around with on the weekends and find I'm eating…

Great job! I was in your boat in March and my follow up appointment in June I was down 25 pounds and my blood work was normal. It was like getting a great report card in high school. It's also motivating!
-
Update on my original post...my triglycerides are now at 67! 32 pounds down and still going! I don't follow the window as strictly on the weekends anymore and I'm still losing. CICO is key, but that never worked for me before as I always felt deprived and ended up eating more. Now, I drink, eat pizza and chips in…

I order my sushi rolls without the rice. I can eat so much more of it and not all of the filling rice. It's the same thing but wrapped in nori. Most all sushi places will do that for you.
-
I do 17/7 pretty much and lost 35 since March.
-
@Rebekah_Washington I do drink coffee, black with a little splenda. I also drink other diet soft drinks, but mostly flavored seltzer water. And, I take probiotic and fish oil.

It shouldn't feel like an eating disorder. The point is not to wait until you're starving and then binge on huge meals. If you have issues with binge or emotional eating, this probably isn't for you. Yes, you can eat more at your meals when you're eating in a smaller window, but everyone uses it differently. My doctor put…

I do 17/7 and have lost 30 pounds since March! My doctor put me on it because I have high triglycerides. I'm rarely hungry and If I go on vacation, or have dinner plans later, I just adjust my schedule. I obviously still eat at a deficit, but I find I'm so full when I eat within a smaller window rather than spread it out…
-
@reinventing_... Yes! You have to listen to your body. The first couple of weeks I was eating about 10 to 7...and then slowly brought the window to a smaller hour amount. Your body needs time to adjust. Now, I'm hungry around 11:30, but not starving. Some days I'll be hungrier earlier and so I eat earlier. Then, I just eat…

Here is the link to my post: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10397272/need-a-probiotic-for-digestive-health#latest There are a lot of great suggestions on there and you may want to play around with them if one doesn't work.
-
I HIGHLY suggest getting on a probiotic along with adjusting your diet. I just posted a couple of weeks ago asking for advice and recommendations on a probiotic. I went with Renew Life 50 Billion capsules and it has changed my life!
-
@PrincessTinyheart it makes me really sad to hear/read you say those words. I am 6'2" and luckily accepted my height after high school. I've always had a lot of attention from men and women who think I'm beautiful. I'm sure you have too, you haven't been able to accept the compliments because you don't love yourself. You…
-
@pleasurelittlet... That happens to me too! I try to brush my teeth and drink water when I'm done eating. It starts my body into the going to sleep mode and curbs my hunger.
-
@Cheesy567 I agree!
-
@rosemy10 I am 38, 6' 2" and was 228
-
@CharleezAng... about 1350 per day. But, that can be spread out over the week. I may not eat 1350 each day, sometimes 1200. I'm not as hungry most days and I save the calories for the weekends. But, I'm also not exercising. I have a desk job. The gym is next on my list.
-
@shaunte92 One tip: Always have your food or a snack ready if you're at the end of the 8 hours and starving. That way, you won't just grab any crap that's in front of you! Good luck!
-
@pedraono I do not eat anything before or after my window. I do drink coffee in the morning and water. But that's it.
-
@Olycapitalch... Where can I find those? I have been taking the 30 Billion capsules once a day. But, if I can take something less than that, i'll try it!
-
I tried the Renew Life Ultimate flora and it's changed my life this past week! Thanks!
-
@glassyo Yes, It was suggested to be on the BRAT diet but I'd like to avoid that if possible so I can have my veggies and other foods instead of white toast and rice. These are all great suggestions and I think I'm going to try combining a bunch of these ideas to see if it helps!!
-
@extra_medium I understand this, but for me, eating those foods don't really fuel me, they make me hungrier and tired. I end up gaining weight.
-
@kimny72 I was originally told by my doctor to follow the BRAT diet of bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Therefore, most of the things I eat including eggs, veggies, and lean meats were not in the diet. Adding in a ton of processed carbs is not something I want to do, so I felt at a loss. But, if I can get it under…

Thanks everyone!! I guess it will just be trial and error! I'll try anything at this point!

Those people did not regain all of the weight solely because their metabolism's are now slowed. They gained the weight because they stopped exercising and started back to their old habits of overeating. If they gained 20 lbs back and had a hard time getting it off, they may be slowed metabolism and their body fighting…

I order all of my rolls without the rice. Just ask them. It's the same thing just without all of the carbs!
