He He - ok let's get some ideas for 2015 then
-
Yep - I love a good plan :) I also love keeping track of stuff and monitoring things so all in all I'm keeping tabs on myself. Must....not...be...too...impatient! ;)
-
I once read an article that suggested instead of saying "I don't have time to xxx" say "i'm not prioritising xxxx right now" and that will help you see what your current priorities actually are. If yours are moderating your computer gaming forum that's fine - make it an active choice and decision that that's what you're…

Revised my calorie intake after doing some TDEE research and will use that with tracking exercises as 1 cal. I'll give it a month and see how this plan works.
-
Thanks guys. I do have a food scale and measure all the food I cook and prepare for myself so hopefully calorie tracking is pretty accurate. I'll keep at it and remain patient
-
I like "Mental fortitude"

Hey there, I see you're in Australia? I don't know about discount food stores down under but I live to quite a tight budget and I shop at Lidl/Aldi discount stores. I don't buy branded stuff just generic store's own brand. I find that planning my meals for the week really helps me to budget and not spend unnecessarily.…

Yeah the dark chocolate is good becasueI know I'm going to have chocolate in the evening I don't "need" to eat any during the day and dark chocolate seems less "moreish" than milk chocolate somehow.
-
Well done on the homemade chocolate. I am a serious chocolate addict and decided to break the pattern of over indulgence byt going cold turkey and giving up completely in October - I called it Choctober. I ate no chocolate at all. I really feel like this helped me break the bad habit and now I "treat" myself to 2 squares…

There are loads of bodyweight routines you can do. Good resources are: Bodyrock HIIT http://www.dailyhiit.com/hiit-blog/hiit-workout/ It's quite female orientated but there are pretty tough workouts on there. You are your own gym - YAYOG https://www.marklauren.com/apps.html Also convict conditioning…

I do attack once or twice a week. I enjoy it and combined with good eating habits and other resistance training I have lost weight and size with it.
-
Love this!
-
Quitting smoking is a HUGE achievement - well done! All the best on here too :)
-
My workmate recently said I had "moxie" , I LOVED this :)
-
I can be a bit all or nothing about stuff so my mantra is "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good" this stops me throwing my toys out of the cot and quitting when I'm not doing as well as I want. It also helps me to remember that I AM progressing even if it's not at the pace I set for myself.
-
At least you go out there and did SOMETHING! Everyone has to start somewhere and everyone is different so not being able to complete a set training plan on your first attempt is not too important. You did get out and run a bit and if it was more than you ran before then that's progress. A lot of beginner runners get put…

I guess it depends on what kind of Gym you want to join. I was previously a member of The Gym Group budget gym for £10.00 per month introductory offer. This later increased to £16 per month but still super cheap. It had all the cardio machines, weights machines and 1 power rack. Mostly geared to cardio really. Also they…

Bump for tips - also have Pull Ups as a goal.

Hey I'm in the UK (Edinburgh) also keen to meet new peeps. Tried snowboarding but broke my wrist on my first time out so now just watch in awe.
-
Just reinstating this as it's been a while and rejuvinating my friends list :)
-
Bump for tips. Also suffer from poor grip strength.
-
I know it's slow going here :\ We could do a mini challenge and see who joins. Any thoughts? Goal weight loss or fitness minutes or consistency? Worth a shot I reckon. L

Hey there, I have done 3 Marathons. Last one was in 2011 so a little out of practice. I've done a few halfs since but have discovered Obstacle Course racing and this may be my new love! Happy to chat re marathoning though as hopefully can offer some experience. Good Luck with it!
-
Quite a haul - good work!
-
In Edinburgh, hi :)
-
You should definitely go for it! I've done two now - the first one last year I did by myself and this year's was with some team-mates. Both were great fun and an awesome challenge. I would recommend working on your running - the courses are usually 10 - 12 miles in total but there are only short distances between obstacles…

Thanks for the info

Just bumping this topic as it had disappeared in the new forums and I'd be sad to lose all this great content.

I am planning 2015 already and want to try some new races. I'm already signed up for the Tough Mudder Scotland again and I'm almost certainly do the Spartan Sprint again but I fancied a few new ones. here's my list so far: Ideas for next year's challenges: http://www.majorseries.com/events/scotland…
