I'm in a similar situation - been AWOL for ages and need to lose about 25kg. Happy to be added as a friend.

Go ahead and add me - like many geeky things :) Love Firefly, BSG, OUAT and currently enjoying Sarah J Maas books - among many others - too many to mention!

I'm from Edinburgh - happy for UK friends :)

Hey I'm in Scotland. Originally from the Highlands but now based in Edinburgh. Always happy for new UK friends :)

YAY - Well done!! <3 (*)

Yeah it's definitely a struggle and I think all the "fast" solutions out there feed unrealistic expectations of weight loss. It requires dedication, perseverance, patience and hard work. I think we're justified in becoming frustrated but definitely not giving up! :)

Ooh - good to know it's do-able. THANKS!

Ooh Rock Solid looks interesting. I shall investigate!

I hear ya! I've been experiencing mild hip pain since Sept and kept thinking it would ease off itself. It's now quite acute and I'm having to go to the doc. Maybe seek some professional advice about what's best. You don't want to miss your race but you don't want to do any long term damage either. I hope you find a good…

I'm gradually learning that consistency is key. If I have a "bad" day I don't beat myself up about it but I don't let it sabotage the next day, I just get back on being healthy again in my next choices. Also if I have a slow week weight loss wise I just keep going and believe that the consistency will pay off in the end…

Thanks ladies <3

A week of moderation and focussing on healthy food and re-incorporating exercise into my day has paid off and I've lost 0.8kg of the 1.7kg I put on over Christmas. Quite pleased the progress has turned back in the right direction.

I hear ya! I'm rubbish at going to bed, intent to be in bed by 11pm and before I know it, it's about 1 am. Will work on it though!

I'm pretty sure Zsuska now has her own fitness site. Try here: https://zuzkalight.com/category/workouts/

A lot of these races are a little thin on the ground in Scotland but so far I have: Tough Mudder - 20th June Spartan Sprint - 18th July Considering trying back to back Spartan Sprint and then the Super on the 19th July. If I did this I could go for the Trifecta on aim for the Beast on the 27th Sept in London. I haven't…

I'm reinvigorated for the New Year! Put some weight on over the Festivities but excited to have a healthy year ahead. :)
-
NEW YEAR Checklist So, as per most of the population, I put on over a bit of weight throughout the Festive Period (about 1.7kg) All things considered I'm not too phased about this. I didn't go totally nuts and completely overindulge but I didn't exercise or eat as healthily as usual so a gain was expected. I'm not quite on…

I have this downloaded but not read it yet - must move it up my "to Read" list for some New Year inspiration!

Thanks! I'm learning! <3

So patience pays!! Despite no progress on the scales these last 2 weeks I have persevered with keeping my eating as healthy as possible and trying to avoid the excesses of the season. It paid off!! Today I saw a loss on the scales- hopefully get things moving in the right direction again :p

Today I'm grateful for all my amazing friends who got together last night. Also grateful that I lost some weight today - finally after a 2 week plateau

Yeah I found the Spartan sprint less team orientated than TM. I LOVE the TM atmosphere and am not so keen on the forfeits but find it does motivate me! It's a total addiction though! I don't think we have quite as big a choice in Scotland so I'm looking for some new races in 2015.

I've done 2 Tough Mudders and 2 Spartan Sprints - aiming for a Spartan Sprint and Super this year and another Tough Mudder. There are a few groups on here for OCRs - try these: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/323-tough-mudders http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/6486-obstacle-course-mud-run-racers

I am grateful for a lovely weekend catching up with friends, a bright frosty run on Saturday and a funny Christmas card from my wee brother <3
-
Thank you <3 This last week has been a challenge but I actively decided to just enjoy everything I was doing and the time with my friends etc instead of worrying about what food I was eating. I made moderation and sensible decisions the goal for the week and that worked well for me. Slow and steady!

Bump I have a pull up bar at home and have started just hanging from it and negative pull ups.

I live on my own too. I'm in Scotland in the UK but prices are probably comparable. I live to quite a tight budget so visit the cheapest food stores like Aldi and Lidl. They don't really sell branded stuff but it's just as good. I probably spend about £15 - £20 a week on fresh food and occasionally will have a more…

I'm grateful that I'm going to Wicked tonight and that I have a great bunch of friends to go with! Sooooo excited!

Decide not to fail! Easier said than done, I know, but if you start deciding you've already failed you're not giving yourself a chance. This time is different - don't fail! What do you want more - to have to keep saying "I tried but I failed" or to eventually say "I kept trying until I succeeded"? You CAN do it, just…

:D Thanks! I'm pretty tenacious/stubborn when I need to be.
