Thank you, your advice was really helpful :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm going to keep at it. Maybe after a while I won't slow down when a car goes by anymore.

I think it's tricky trying to figure out what a goal weight should be. I guess you won't really know till you get to a place where you're happy with your body and feel good about yourself. (If that ever does actually happen) I know for me I've never been less then 198 in my whole adult life. I don't even know what it feels…

I definitely notice at the check out line. Then I'm paranoid that other people are looking at me when I buy anything processed.
-
Thank You :) If I don't cook the biscuits or cookies or whatever he'll stop and buy some processed junk. I'd rather he eat the homemade stuff. He has seen a doctor, of course the doctor told him his weight was a problem. But he also told him that unlike most obese people he is well-nourished. We eat a balanced diet of…

There's no nice way to say that, believe me I've tried :)

It was fun reading the replies to this thread. The submission is not something my husband expects or asks of me. I believe it's how God has called me to live, it simply means I'm here to support him as the head of our family and he's here to lead. I feel blessed to be able to serve in this way. Of course I could just cook…

I think that's what I want the most, to feel normal again. It doesn't feel right not having my periods. I think I've done pretty good losing 30 lbs in 4 1/2 months but if the metformin would give me a little bit of a boost that would be great. I don't expect it to take the weight right off.
-
Thank you! I probably will try the metformin and see if I get the side effects. My dr really seems to think it will work. He says I'll lose 40 lbs, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'll check out the Vitex for sure.

I don't think you should feel deprived while dieting. That's no way to live, and it's a lot harder to keep up. I've done that plenty of times before. But now I'm in it for more energy, not just weight loss, and that is enough of a reward. And I've discovered that I really am just as satisfied with a chocolate rice cake and…

You're probably right, I should be eating real food. I've been doing pretty good eating pasta in moderation. I was surprised by how much just 1 cup of pasta actually is once you put it in a bowl and put a lot of vegetables on the side. I have comletely given up ramen noodles, they used to be my go-to comfort food. I do…

Hi Welcome! Let's support each other :) I'll send you a friend request.

I don't have any advice for you, but I definitely understand. We have a very small house and there isn't a separate place to go to work out without either kids or my husband watching me. When I do work out (it's been a long time) I get up before everyone else to do it. I would love to go to a gym, but my kids are too young…

Welcome! I'll add you too. I'm pretty new to this site, and also still trying to lose baby weight from my two little boys (they were totally worth it).

Amazing job! There's a huge difference. I'm inspired that you lost so much with PCOS and no meds. I have it too, and I've lost 28lbs so far without meds, but my dr wants me to start them this week. I'm undecided if I will or not.

Hi Monkey Mama! Welcome!
-
Welcome! I'm new here too, it seems like a great place to find encouragement :)

Thank you for the welcome!

Congratulations! Hopefully I'll be buying new clothes soon too, My current clothes are just starting to be comfortable.

Love egg yolks! It's the best part of the egg, and totally worth the calories. We have our own chickens and they're so good. The other night I had a burger with no bun, just an over-easy egg on top, I didn't miss the bread at all.

I've had mirena for 3 years. I haven't had any problems, but I have gained weight (all on my own, not because of mirena). I talked to my dr about whether taking it out would help me to lose the weight. He told me that was a myth. He says the reason I'm having a hard time is because of my PCOS, it has nothing to do with…

Thank you so much for that motivation! I'm excited to be here, and I do really feel like I'm on my way. Now that I'm doing it for my health and more energy, not just to look better.

I love this thread! This is my first time replying to anything on here. Here's a pic of me at my heaviest around 320, I'm at 298 now, and I already have a lot more energy. Oh and my husband hates this pic too :(
