Hello all, pleased to see this thread! I started no LNS on the 1st of February, and I'm hoping to make it the whole month even though it's a very stressful month for school. Me: 6 LNS: 0

I was doing assisted pull-ups today and could finally feel that they were easier! Feeling my new back muscles engage and lift me up was such a motivating feeling!!

Brilliant! And I read the entire thing in a British accent

Amazing inspiration!! Way to go! (Also, I find the fact that your glasses are slightly askew in the first picture adorable)

Because science. Although we haven't cured cancer, it's common knowledge among the scientific community that the mortality for many cancers have in fact decreased (note: shown is only mortality rates for women, because OP is a woman). Uterus, stomach, breast, and colon cancer mortality rates have all declined significantly…

Really? I was under the impression that Total Daily Energy Expenditure includes ALL calories including exercise calories. If someone is eating their TDEE, wouldn't they by default be eating back their exercise calories? Correct me if I'm wrong!

Bump for later, because it sounds easy and delicious, but the calorie count is pretty off for anyone who cares (OP says 20 calories/serving which seemed impossible to me). Here is what the MFP recipe builder spit out (I put in Kraft Fat Free Cream Cheese 8 oz and a 7 oz container of 2% Fage Greek): Calories 65 Total Fat 1…

You are a brave, brave soul. I don't have nearly enough time to go into everything I think on this subject, but I'll throw in these two cents: I work in the biomedical research field (cancer). About two months ago, the director of the NIH came to my university to give a talk about many many things. Among the data he…

I used to be afflicted with leg hate (I can't find calf high boots that fit me to save my life). It took a close friend being paralyzed by a freak accident at the age of 23 for me to realize something very very important: I will always love my legs. Perspective is key.

Wait to exercise until you talk to your doctor. It's not worth it.

Yum! Always on the lookout for more chicken recipes. Thanks OP!

Hi! I'd like to join this casual challenge to help me track my training for my very first century ride (in late September). I commute to work 6 miles one way, and I'm going to start some serious training this Sunday with my boyfriend who's also doing the century with me. Can't wait to get to know everyone!

I thought I was the only one!! My friends make fun of me for it

That might be one of the best analogies I've ever read on this site. I love it!:drinker:

Again, excellent points. I'm not convinced that avoiding GM produce is the best way to encourage more responsible farming practices. I certainly think that such an avoidance not enough, by itself, to bring about some sort of drastic change in the practice of sustainable farming. But I also don't have the answer to what…

I read your other post, and I think you make good points! I'm also not sure where I stand completely on organic vs conventional....however, I've heard this argument before about 'GMO' vs 'selective breeding' and I don't think it's a very good comparison. I work in a biological research lab (breast cancer) and I can tell…

I don't care if you're male, female, straight or gay----marry me?

Begone with your well reasoned and fair minded comment! It has no place here amidst the bashing that will inevitably ensue!

I shaved 30 seconds off of my bike ride to work; I'm also down to the last hole on my belt, and am now faced with the difficult decision of making a new hole or buying a new belt!

That's a fantastic NSV!! I, too, ride to work each and every day. We have almost the exact same distance to/from work; I find that it's a nice ride and wakes me up in the morning more than coffee does. I can relate to it really tiring out your legs---for most exercise you're supposed to rest the muscle groups on "off"…

Pure inspiration! Fantastic work!

I'm down another notch in my belt! Plus my skinny jeans a a little loose :)

Yes! I know from personal experience that this is true for me. I was in the mindset of "can't have this food" for a long time (thanks, WWs), lost a bunch of weight, learned nothing (well, not "nothing" but not enough to keep it off), and gained it back. Now I'm doing slow and steady, eating what I want within reason and my…

Hey, no worries! I think most people were trying to be helpful, but everyone being "helpful" about the exact same two ingredients can feel overwhelming. It IS a tasty looking salad, and very healthy. :flowerforyou:

I eat chicken a LOT and a breast usually weighs between 150-200 grams, no matter what brand it is...which is between 260-330 calories just for the chicken. Don't get me wrong---to me that makes your salad better! I'm all about trying to reach my protein goals. I just thought you should know that if you put a whole breast…
