More Tragically Hip here. RIP Gord.

WOW. Just wow. Amazing.

In the past getting up early has worked for me, but not anymore. I took a good, hard look at my life and where I could fit in exercise in a sustainable way. I just never enjoyed getting up early, was always looking for an excuse to sleep in instead, often wussed out on my workouts in the morning because I just wasn't…

I see a PP mentioned Chocolate Covered Katie, and I wholeheartedly second that recommendation. I love the chocolate mug cake. It's extremely rich and with some vanilla Greek yogurt as a topping - YUM!!! Also, the chocolate pudding pie (made with tofu, which, I know, sounds absolutely revolting. I don't like tofu, but…

They cheaped you out 4 grams on that bar!!! Looks scrumptious - enjoy!

Yep, normal. My weight fluctuates about 10 lbs. a month. 2 days after my period I usually get my low weight of the month, then it slowly creeps up again throughout the month until TOM again, then back down. I can't get bogged down in daily/weekly weigh-ins because they don't give the true picture. But once I step back and…

Ginger and peppermint teas are my go-tos for nausea.

What does MFP tell you to eat? I'd start with that. Are you doing 1200 + exercise calories, or 1200 total? On weekends you're just eating an omelet, a piece of fruit, a cup of soup and a piece of chicken, plus working out for 45 minutes? You're going to burn out soon! Find out what MFP recommends for your calories. Start…

A friend who I swear knows better (or at least I thought she did) posted recently "Any suggestions for shedding holiday weight other than cabbage soup?" I was too dumbfounded to respond.

40, Mom of 3, backslider as well, have been logging in daily for the past month and intend to keep it up. (Did anyone else hear Maestro Fresh Wes in their head when reading that title, or is that just a Canadian thing?)

Currently reading The Hamilton Affair (fiction biography of Alexander Hamilton) and trying to slog my way through The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Just finished The Wonder by Emma Donoghue, it was pretty good.

Have you read the Shardlake series by C.J. Sansom? They're fantastic. First one is Dissolution.

Onederland. I'm somewhere between 1-3 lbs. away.

Agree you should talk to your doctor. BC or a Mirena might help if they're options.

Mom of 2 here, work full time, husband works opposite schedule to me (evenings and weekends). I'm still figuring out how to get it all in, but here's what I'm working on. I do at least one lunch time a week at the gym. There's a gym about 5 minutes away from my work, so I go there. Also, there's a gym next to where my…

Look at that waist and chin definition!! Fantastic, very inspiring!

If I'm going to eat at night (which I'm going to), I pick something that takes effort to make. Not a ton of effort, but more than just grab-and-go, like a Chocolate Covered Katie mug cake. The making it takes away some of the mindless eating and when I eat it, then there's an extra level of satisfaction over just eating a…

Down 1.5 lbs. in a month is still down. It might be slower than you hoped, but you're losing weight. If you're not tracking religiously, then you are probably eating more than you think you are.

Agree with some of the deceptively delicious, etc. recipes for hiding veggies. For me, though, no matter how much I blended up the veggies there were always lumps, etc. that could be detected. I've taken to buying baby food. Plain veggies, but they're blended completely smooth so they hide perfectly. Carrots hide very well…

Check out Chocolate Covered Katie's recipes. Everything she makes is amazing.

Not meaning to be blunt, but that sounds like most people's lives. Work, commuting, kids, etc. is what most adults with families face. You just have to find a time that works. If mornings don't, then after the kids go to bed. Or on your lunch hour. On the weekend, incorporate exercise with your kids - go for hikes, bike…

You've lost about one pound every 5 days? That's fantastic!!! Sounds like you're doing great as it is. But, are you using the #s on your machine to see what your burn is on your exercise? 900-1150 calories for 20 minutes sounds INSANE. I would cut that in half at the very least, maybe 1/3. Eating 2000 calories shouldn't be…

Have you tried slowly cutting back the amount of sugar? If you use 3 packets of sugar, then maybe use 2 + one splenda/stevia (so hopefully the sugar will mask the stevia/splenda taste you don't like). Then cut it down slowly that way? Hard to go from loads of sugar to no sugar.

Daily fluctuations in body weight of up to 5-10 lbs. are totally normal!! Just because the scale is showing 1.5 lbs. gain doesn't mean you've actually gained weight. If you've upped exercise it could be water, normal fluctuations. Weight also doesn't come off in a linear fashion most of the time. You'll see ups and downs,…

Ugh, that's tough. I agree with you, though, that some flavoured chapstick she wants to carry in a purse is no big deal at all. Lots of girls that age go through a period of wanting to wear purses/be grown-up, etc. My daughter loves to carry a purse with her chapstick in it and her various "credit card" type stuff (old…

100% definitely not asking for a pedophile to abduct them, and definitely not setting them up for insecurities later on in life. The vast majority of women in western society wear makeup of some description and it's not because we're all burdened by crippling insecurities. That said, I don't let my daughter wear make-up…

Have you had your thyroid checked? If you are being honest with your food instake, sticking to your calories, weighing and portioning everything properly you should lose weight. If you've been doing all that consistently for months and not losing, then I think it's time to look at whether there might be something…
