  • Why not just try? Seriously- what have you got to lose (no pun intended-lol)? I would give it some time and eat a healthy range of calories. Make sure you are tracking diligently and eat as close to natural foods as possible.
  • Gotta say I agree with this. Eating only 700-800 cals a day is going to kill your metabolism- IMHO.
  • Lent is the 6ish weeks leading up to Easter Sunday. Its when Catholics (and some other Christians) prepare to celebrate the most Holy day of the year by prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Traditionally Catholics deny ourselves something that we find enjoyable as a form of penance/self denial in addition to giving up red meat…

  • Here is the one I did: http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Kinter.htm I did tweak it and kept my long run a little shorter though.
  • I notice that as my longer runs get longer my shorter runs get easier and my times get faster. Hal Hidgon has some great (free) training plans on his site- I did the one to improve your 5k speed a while back and ended up shaving almost 6 mins off my overall 5k time. I find the best thing when I am trying to improve is to…
  • You can do both. I run and I do p90X. Also going to get insanity to do this fall. Keeping a variety in my workouts keeps me from getting bored. I would really love to squeeze in a few gym classes as well.
  • I'm going to try this next time cause I have always wondered myself.
  • I broke myself of the sugar addiction 5 years ago. Now I can have *some* but it doesn't have to take over my life. I did the southbeach diet plan and it really helped. The first 3-4 days I was headachey from lack of sugar and refined, processed (BAD) carbohydrates. By the end of that first week I had regulated my blood…
  • I would be worried about NO cardio at all. Just my opinion but a fitness plan should be well balanced just like your nutrient plan. I think that would include cardio, strength training, and balance/flexibility practice.
  • Can you tell me more about your cleanse? I am trying to break a bit of a plateau myself.
  • I hate seafood too- and I live on coastal Georgia. Warning you- you might not like the Cheddar biscuits. I went and had the steak and it was alright but I tried a biscuit and it had a "fishy" taste to me. I only went cause of my hubby.
  • This is a great post. I am 5'3 and also on the 1200 cals a day plan. Which 6 days a week isn't an issue cause I workout and I eat my exercise cals. I see lots of posts about not eating vs. eating them and honestly I workout so hard most days that I would feel faint if I didn't eat them so that isn't even an issue for me.…
  • I have the garmin 305 and LOVE it. I feel naked when I run without it. I wear my hrm no matter what exercise I do so I know just what I burn- even wear it doing p90x.
  • This has kind of been my dilema too lately. I am about to start phase 3, and I am also training for a race which really isn't too bad. I run in addition to X about 4 days a week. I would actually like to fit in a spin class on Saturday mornings or even a 15 mile bike ride on my own but I just have no time. If I have to…
  • I have 3 kids so even though I don't go overboard on the holiday candy, its still always around. What I do is give them a few days with it and then start to slowly toss it- they usually don't even notice. They eat their favorites and then the rest sits. So while they are at school and I am at home with it calling my name I…

  • My husband went from 193 to 182 in about a month and a half. His goal weight is 175 and he is still loosing 1-2 pounds a week. He keeps his calories in close check 6 days a week with 1 cheat meal and works out 6 days a week. We are doing p90X together and its 3 days weights, 2 days cardio, 1 day stretching/yoga. He…
  • I don't know sometimes I wonder the same thing. My HRM, mfp, and another site I use with a calculator based on average heart rate are always different. My hrm is a garmin and it tends to be most accurate for outdoors things like walking/running but for other things like weight lifting (been doing p90x) its not accurate at…
  • Yes!! Happens to me almost everytime.
