  • @dreamer12151 I found the Trail Sisters group online, it's a facebook group :) if you search trail sisters waukesha it should pop up and then you just need to request to join. It's all paces and a pretty nice group of ladies. @mbaker566 I'm going to try my first Kenosha running company event this Saturday in Lake Geneva.…
  • @mbaker566 I am happy to be your local accountability buddy if you'd like :) I joined Trail Sisters Waukesha (free) so I could find people to run with on the trails and so far it has been great. I'm happy to meet up for runs if you ever want to.
  • I haven't posted in a few months but I saw the post on Strava about @MobyCarp and it's just hard to wrap my head around. I never met him and I didn't even knew his name was Kevin but I still felt like I "knew" him from his posts and great advice. He will definitely be missed. I would love to be added to the list for the…
  • @zeesparrow sorry that you fell too! The ice has been particulary bad lately :/ @mbaker566 one of these days I'll make it to the track, it's right by my work so it would be convenient.
  • My plan was to run tonight to finish out February but I'm skipping it. I was so tired of treadmill running that I ran outside last night and the combo of snow on top of the ice wasn't ideal but I was going slow and trying to be cautious. As I was turning the last corner on my way back my right leg slipped on the ice and…

  • @mbaker566 I would come out and cheer for you! I don't know much about those three races, the only Milwaukee area marathon I've ever really looked into was Lakefront last year and then I got hurt training for it. Personally I think I would want a bigger crowd so if it was me I would probably pick Milwaukee Marathon.
  • Thank you @katharmonic @PastorVincent @simcon1 @kgirlhart @7lenny7 @Scott6255 @noblsheep @eleanorhawkins @marisap2010 (hopefully I didn't miss anyone) and Congrats to @MobyCarp @ddmom0811 and @marisap2010 There were so many great race reports this weekend! 2/2 - 4 mile run 2/3 - 6.3 mile run 2/5 - 5 mile Treadmill run 2/7…
  • Congrats @greyparks206 @garygse You both had awesome races!! For my race report - Today was the Steve Cullen 8k race, it was 10F with no wind so I was super excited about that. Last year I finished in 55:43 and I knew I could run it faster this year but I didn't really have a specific goal in mind. I was a little nervous…
  • Thanks @mbaker566 I'm hoping that too otherwise I'm going to slide right down the hill :D
  • 2/2 - 4 mile run 2/3 - 6.3 mile run 2/5 - 5 mile Treadmill run 2/7 - 4 mile Treadmill run 19.3 miles so far/Goal 75 miles Upcoming races: 2/9 - Steve Cullen 8k 3/16 - Lucky Leprechaun 7k 4/27 - Brown Deer 10k 6/9 - Manitowoc Half Marathon 8/3 - Arbor Rock Trail Run - distance undecided 8/17 - Madison Mini Half Marathon
  • I'm thinking my February goal will be 75 miles & really stick to a plan for strength training. On my non-running days I tend to say I'm too busy and "I'll do it next time" so I need to work on that for sure. Upcoming races: 2/9 - Steve Cullen 8k 3/16 - Lucky Leprechaun 7k 4/27 - Brown Deer 10k 6/9 - Manitowoc Half Marathon…

  • I was tired of running all week on the treadmill so today I decided to bundle up and run outside in -12F. I know I've run in sub zero temps before for a race but I'm still trying to gauge how many layers when it gets cold (the wind bothers me more than the cold temps). My running store had a winter clearance sale so I…

  • My husband & I went on a group trail run today and had so much fun, it's always worth the drive to the Kettle Moraine trails. This one was a ski trail that can be run on as long as there's no snow so it was pretty well groomed, wide, with rolling hills throughout. We picked the loop that I thought was 5 miles long but I…
  • @mbaker566 I ran the Cullen race last year and that hill is rough! I really liked the rest of the course though :D Yes, I ran the Manitowoc half last year and I loved it. It's flat, fast, and on the lake. It's a smaller race and my husband was able to drive down the whole course and stop to cheer, it really helped since…
  • @mbaker566 I've been looking at the Fall 50 too, looks like a great one! Love the dog pics, they are so cute :) I need to set a goal for January, the back and hip are still pain free and tolerating running pretty well the last 2 months so I'm going to plan for 60 miles. 1/1 - 3 mile Treadmill run 1/2 - 5 mile Treadmill run…
  • Well this month got away from me and I haven't updated my runs in awhile. We got a new billing program at work so I've been really busy and it didn't help the start date was 12/1 so with the holidays it's been crazy. I have been running though so I'm happy about that! 12/1 - 3 mile Treadmill run 12/4 - 2.85 mile run 12/6 -…
  • Ran with a group tonight and I had a lot of fun. Can't believe there's only 3 weeks left before Christmas though, I say it every year but it really feels like time just flies by too fast. I still have shopping to do and the tree to put up but my procrastination just gives my 3 cats less time to try to destroy the tree :D…
  • I'm done with PT and slowly back to running again after my August back/hip injury. I've been running 3 days a week and pain free so I'm excited but also trying not to jump too fast into increasing mileage. I'm also doing my PT exercises daily to keep working on my core/hip/glute strength. I was told that my hips internally…
  • @mbaker566 Thanks so much for the good luck, I appreciate it and I wish I was able to run it! I was really looking forward to it but my doctors said no way. After like 6 weeks of no running it looks like I will be cleared to do some easy run/walking next week and I'm crossing my fingers the back/hip pain doesn't come back.…
  • That's so sad...my heart goes out to his family. I will bike 5.2 tonight for Dennis. I ended up in a walk-in ortho clinic last Saturday after skipping my 5k race since the back/hip pain was keeping me awake at night and not getting any better. He told me no running and to take Aleve every 12 hours and I had an MRI on…
  • @RunsOnEspresso so sorry for your loss, it's so hard when we lose our furry friends, sending you hugs.
  • Added extra rest days and/or moved runs because frankly everything hurts. Left Hip/lower back is the worst of it right now and it seems like yesterday's easy run made it worse. So frustrating because the run felt fine :( Aug 2 - 5 mile Treadmill run Aug 3 - 5 mile Treadmill run Aug 4 - 2.3 mile Trail run Aug 5 - 14 mile…
  • That's a tough one. My ex-husband wasn't supportive of my running at all and while that wasn't the reason for our divorce it certainly didn't help. When I got married for the second time he knew running was important to me and was always happy to come to a race a cheer. Now he runs with me once a week and we have planned…
  • For macros - I saw a nutritionist years ago and the one thing that I do try to watch daily is my protein intake. Whatever carbs/fat I eat is fine with me and my carb intake is higher on run days. I try to get at least 90-100g protein a day. Aug 2 - 5 mile Treadmill run Aug 3 - 5 mile Treadmill run Aug 4 - 2.3 mile Trail…
