Just dancing right....? ;)

yes, I have a though on this. It starts with Boll and end with Ocks. Actually, What BerryH said. But mine was more concise.

Anyone who missed the sarcasm in this post is clearly genetically incapable of detecting it at all. Probably due to a thyroid problem.

How was it?

My top race prep tips: Tapering (reducing your mileage the week before the race) is only necessary for focus races (ones where you want to do your best as opposed to ones which are part of training for something bigger) Tapering means reducing mileage: not reducing speed. A day or two before the race its good to go out for…

To those who complained about how this wasn't a real injury... apart from being completely correct (and missing the joke as Meerkat pointed out) - I don't think anyone would enjoy photos of my genuine running injuries. None have been serious but here is a list for those who want to talk serious stuff. - Shin splints when I…

I started running in early 2011. I cant remember the sequence exactly but I think I had just started dieting and had already joined MFP. I wasn't doing much exercise - a couple of trips to the gym a week with up to an hour of CV done on several machines. Normally elliptical and rowing. At the time this felt like very hard…

Some hot guys as well... but you're just competition ;)
-
I should also add that there are a lot of awfully hot women responding on this thread. Thank you all for being part of my life :)

DieVixen... I was trying to read your post but all I could do was look at your picture. Something about hotels and gigalos? I'ld love to say that that was the case but it was simply an evening run, followed by a swim, followed by strutting around my room like an idiot and posting about it on the internet. I travel a lot…

Yeah - there were some pretty funny responses in there too... I especially liked the request for 'bubble bath and pipe by fire' pics.

Thanks guys n gals. I know most of the MFP community is supportive - its just a shame the minority make the rest of us look bad. This is exactly the reason why I started this thread - Not because I was bothered but because I want people like you to feel comfortable here. I hope the responses here have given you a little…

I try and eat my exercise calories net over a week... Very long runs give huge spikes in available calories so it doesn't make sense to eat them same day. The best thing to do is experiment - if you are still loosing weight (and this is no longer your goal) you are not eating enough. If you are gaining, you're eating too…

Thanks to the folks who stuck up for me. I'm happy with my body the way it is now, hair and all. My profile states my aim is 'happy and healthy' and, so long as that dangerous gash in my arm doesn't kill me I'm meeting that goal. Can I smoke one of those bubble pipes (Remember them?) and give you the best of both worlds? I…

If I had not already know this I would definitely have titled the post differently ;)

I considered responding to this with a defensive: "Who goes running in their best pants?????" But already see the hole in my argument... "Who takes a photo in their old pants and posts it on the internet?" Fortunately the hole is in my argument and not in my pants and I therefore feel I can call this a draw. PS: Pants is…

Running is NOT bad for you.... However you should read up on good technique as you can pick up some annoying injuries. If nothing else, watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx6x2cD6Y8Q&feature=related Also: . Good shoes, which you should buy somewhere where they analyse your technique is a must . Running on trails…

OMG that looks horrendous. Did you see a doctor about it? x

I've been around MFP long enough to know what I was in for :)
-
Oh yeah - shaving: if I started I'd never stop *LOL*

LOL.... OK, I confess.. I was walking past the mirror and thought "Actually - these days I am looking pretty good" and I never put up a proper 'after' pic when I hit my target weight (But you will find plenty of me running in the forums) - plus I've put a lot of work into my training (Two Marathons coming up in April)...…

One item less and I would BE naked. Mind you, I guess that could be said of a full length robe.

What would you call it?

Just as well I didn't scrape my bum....

Hotel - I'm working here for a few days.

I kind of get this having read the facts.... Its about whether dehydration is classed as a disease (which its not) and therefore it is not a disease which can be prevented by consumption of water. Additionally - its about the difference between 'prevents' and 'reduces the risk of' Finally - its about the indirect messaging…

This is super say.. My ringtone is the intro from 'Variation' - which is by a band I was playing in in 2000. You can hear it here. http://www.myspace.com/consensusuk I'm on the bass

If its a sports holiday anyway (Skiing?) then I wouldn't worry about it - otherwise I would be more concerned about doing a few short runs (5-10k) than your long steadies - I would aim to do something substantial but not huge after you get back - say another 16 miler - you should still have time to complete your training.
-
But also what Berry said... For a 5K, you don't need this.. In fact - the only time you really need a GPS watch in a race is at the start, when you are trying to stop yourself burning out by 'running with the herd' - the rest of the race its actually a distraction - you should be listening to your body to work out what…

Garmin fan here... Be aware.. Garmin 405 looks like a bargain for only a few dollars more than the 305. RUN AWAY for this device. Apparently the 'bevel control doesn't work if your fingers are sweaty!!!! The 610 and the 410 are both meant to be good, but rather pricey compared to the lovely old reliable 2/305. The 205 is…
