Still Pushing Play Today is going to be stressful for reasons I haven't really explained. I think today I want to make time to write out a few things about where I am now, where I've been (did you know I was using a walker 8 years ago?), and where my husband has been, etc. Because yeah . . . it looks like things are going…

@mrsewert @dkwi04 is right. Think of it like this, if you were using Shakeology, you'd be buying the vegan version, right? And that would still count as a red, right? So there you go! :)

@jpkrueger I was thinking that maybe because the cardio workouts include some squats and lunges . . . ? I don't know. Either way, I'm sticking with the plan. I mean, I can't argue with the results and I truly believe that the way the workouts are organized (cardio/upper/lower/etc) is so effective that I can't really…

Everyone I'm probably going to be a little less interactive the next few days. I won't have as much online time as usual. This morning alone, I've baked scones and done dishes after doing two workouts and my usual morning things. I'm just going to be keeping myself busier offline than usual. So forgive me if I don't…

@mrsewert It's one the schedule for 21 Day Fix that comes with the DVDs. If you look at it, you'll see that there are 3 weeks but then there's a fourth week just below the third. That's the optional double up for the week. Everyone I am wondering why, of all the choices, the schedule doubles up on Upper Body Fix rather…

cupcake570 There is a vegetarian version so you could easily replace some of the meat with vegetarian/vegan choices. Where there's a will, there's a way. A veggie burger, tofu, tempeh, eggs (if you are not going strictly vegan/vegetarian) and I even found an image that's probably unofficial using Shakeo for the protein a…

Oh man! I forgot this: http://www.beachbody.com/beachbodyblog/nutrition/gingerbread-granola?code=SOCIAL_21F_GP&linkId=11317703 I found the link to this on g+ and OMG it is sooooo good! I'm sure I shared this on my pinterest board too because yummmmmm . . . . I can't tell you how many times I have mixed this in with my…

@venuila I knew about the schedule before I asked for it because I went online and searched for the schedule. You can find the schedules for most of beachbody's products on teambeachbody.com including some hybrid schedules that mix such workouts. PiYo with* T25 * P903 P90X with* P90X Plus * P90X * P90X One on One *…

I made the banana oatmeal ones and my husband loved them. Not super sweet but very nice. When I have a sweet tooth and my purples are all gone, I have a cup of herbal tea. Or a tisane. Hot or iced, depending on my mood.

@dkwi04 @jpkrueger beat me to it. LOL! I'll be honest, the Slim in 6 program looks pretty boring. And you do the same thing, day after day, for two weeks. Not nearly as much fun as 21 Day Fix, for sure. So why would I even think about doing it let alone asking for it as a gift from my family? 1) Low impact I need to keep…

I'm finishing up Round 3 this week and will be taking my measurements. I increased my weights this round and am still doing 21 Day Fix with PiYo. This 3rd round I'm also doubling up on the exercises for the final week. Not easy, especially since I'm already doing PiYo and using a bike for therapeutic reasons, but I am…
-
@dkwi04 Did you ever try just drizzling it over the veggies. I mean, I know we're "supposed" to drink it but if it's really that disgusting for you, it's something to consider. Another thought is you could buy it in pill form: http://amzn.to/1IB4TGe

Morning Workout 21 Day Fix Lower Fix and 10 Mins Fix for Abs I just realized I was supposed to be "breaking up" my doubling. Oops. I guess I'll just have to use the bike this afternoon after all. (I was thinking of skipping it today.) Got through both workouts well but I have to say that after hitting lower body some of…

@jpkrueger Yeah. I figure the 3DQF is a kick in the pants, like that final burst of speed in a marathon. @venuila I steam them a bit (not fully) beforehand and reheat. The meat I precook. Also, for the steelcut oats, I found that I could set it up on a very low flame, go do the exercise for the morning, and come back and…

I'll third the Ensure recommendation but also chime in with saying that it's best to chew your macros and not merely drink them. However, I know that there are times when the thought of food is too much for me (I wake up nauseous for reasons that have nothing to do with being pregnant) and keep protein shake mix on hand…

Right now, the only thing that's going to save Round 3 from having not the best results is the 3 Day Quick Fix. I've been steadily gaining the past 2 weeks and I don't know that my clothes are especially looser. I have a couple of things that are getting loose but I hadn't worn them since sometime in Round 2 so it's just…

@jpkrueger If I could afford it, I'd definitely give Shakeology a try. I read a great argument for how it is not that costly. All you have to do is not go out to eat as often. Ummm . . . I don't. I go out on very special occasions. Like my anniversary. And my husband and I won't go out to eat again until . . . I don't…

@venuila Average resting heart rate is typically somewhere between 60-100. I don't think you aren't exercising hard enough. I think you need a new HRM. My blood pressure and heart rate have always been below average. For me, that's normal. Even my doctor and physical therapist comment when my blood pressure went to 110/75.…

@ween2414 Awesome! Did you take some before and after pics? Not asking you to share them but I know seeing them really helps keep me on track.
-
@jpkrueger I know, right? I swear every time I do 3DQF, I kinda miss some foods--like fruit and hummus and even Greek yogurt--but boy oh boy do I miss crunching on a salad!

Autumn answers your question right here: http://619healthandfitness.com/21-day-fix-q/ Again, if you aren't sure about things, join the MFP group. There are many people there who find and share things like this in the group.

@dkwi04 You can also do what my husband and I do sometimes. He hated the turkey meatballs so he had beef ones while I tried different turkey meatball recipes (still fix approved, of course) and found some he liked. He also has a regular hamburger while I have a veggie one. But I have to have beef occasionally as well…

We have a great group of people doing both 21DF and 21DFX right here on MFP: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/103806-21-day-fixers Lots of support and encouragement.

@venuila My heart rate is normally very low (around 50 RHR) so I don't expect large numbers when I exercise. PiYo typically only pushes me into the upper 90s or low 100s. I was surprised yesterday when my HRM said I averaged 134 for PiYo Sweat. But that is still below the goal of 135-180. Today for Buns I only hit 111. And…

@dkwi04 I put the salt on the table for my husband but avoid it myself. I don't know if I shared this recipe here: http://www.udderlyfit.com/beef-and-butternut-squash-stew/ So good my husband didn't need to add salt. But we're probably going to have to get rid of our salt . . . not sure . . . waiting on some news. We'll…

@Lauracharder I absolutely wouldn't feel bad about not doubling up. Frankly, I'm not sure why I am doing it except that I wanted to give myself a bit of a push and this is my third round so now is as good a time as any, I suppose.

@dwi04 Not for nothing, remember that food is a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. I have a slow cooker cookbook that reminded me of this recently. You know how slow cooked food typically comes out looking sort of bland? The vibrant colors of the ingredients tend to fade when cooked slowly. This cookbook…
-
@dkwi04 We can? Yaaaaay! The egg whites aren't too bad if you add spices and such. I used to add red pepper flakes and/or garlic to them to make them less bland. But you could also add cinnamon or extract to them. I know that sounds crazy but think about it--meringue is nothing but egg whites and a bit of sugar and…

Morning Workout Do you ever have workouts where you feel clumsy and inadequate every step of the way? Welcome to my morning. Upper Fix . . .what made me think two weeks ago I was ready to increase my weights? And why was it so much harder today than it was a week ago? (I didn't sleep well last night, btw, and I realize…
